782  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: January 10, 2017, 01:27:03 PM
As a headsup, the admin is still "looking into" the case of my account having ~78 btc balance taken from it. The info I have suggests it all happened on their end. Have had extremely minimal communication on the matter, so just want people to be aware that the way this shakes out will be very relevant to ascertaining the integrity of the site.

I'm really sorry to hear stories like these still happening, keep us informed...

Being a developer myself, I could say that the '0000-00-00 00:00:00' on last activity column is something an hacker who would only go through a brute force attack on your password couldn't be able to change using only the frontend interface, apart taking advantage of a vulnerability that only he knows.

So the hypotesis could be:

[1] a faulty user(s) update/migration on the database at some point during the site lifetime by the admin(s) or

[2] a scarier one, that someone being able to access the database did what he wanted and than in order to cover his tracks resetted the timestamp column, but not in all cases the column would have been updated with the last activity in first place, depending on the action/query the malicious person did, eg: a timestamp column get updated automatically in some cases.

[3] a server crash that may have broken your record in the account table, this is quite rare but still may happen, in this case only a previous database backup could prove it.

[4] others that I ignore...

789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin -Human Mining + DualAlgo (scrypt/sha256) & MergeMineable on: February 08, 2014, 05:11:35 AM
Is there is walk-through tutorial teaching the game? I wan to have my 10 year old play for me since he is a master at Minecraft, I think he would enjoy this.

remember, the chat is decentralized p2p, and can be completely anonymous...

there can be some pretty bad things said in it

Huntercoin is really an adult game - maybe in the future we can add some parental feature to disable the chat, and to re-enable a password needs to be entered

also.. sending your 10 year old to work -- not sure if good Smiley

lol, well said...

I still don't have clear the radius of an hunter/general explosion

For an hunter, what's max radius for a Player to die? a, b, c or d?

a) HP
b) H[ ]P
c) H[ ][ ]P
d) H[ ][ ][ ]P

For an general, what's max radius for a Player to die? a, b, c or d?

a) GP
b) G[ ]P
c) G[ ][ ]P
d) G[ ][ ][ ]P

Yes I know but sometimes they overlap and it's confusing or if I'm in one of the four corners and the centering function doesn't really center on the player Smiley and I have to queue a path to see from where it originates to find my hunter

Would be nice if the selected hunter/general would glow or something in  map to be distinguished on the fly from other players.

note.. people saying WTB HUCs for xxx amount.. then you see someone else saying "sold" @ xxx... -- probably some of them haven't really sold, they are actually the buyers trying to get at a lower price Smiley

yeah a reply of this nature just above made me laugh Cheesy
