The Block explorer and Richlist are down!

The smart move is to buy and hold TekCoin. Then sell in small portions later on as needed. This is the coin of the future as it creates a lot of coin fast if you buy some every day then the next month you get 40% increase each day on what you bought last month. On the other hand it will eventually become impossible to profit when mining bitcoin. So the smart thing to do is get into proof of stake. As the difficulty rises for bitcoin when it hits 40 Billion which will occur in about 300 days from now no one will be able to mine it. Electricity will cost more than you get from mining no matter how much mining power you have. The statements above assume bitcoin mining difficulty continues to grow 1 billion every 11 days and the price holds at 500 or less. Proof of stake is the way to go. The only way Bitcoin mining stays profitable after 300 days is for the price of bitcoin to climb or the difficulty drops. Hopefully one or the other will happen.

Why is the block explorer / Rich List still broken? Is anyone working on this?

I second that as well. Rich List has not updated in almost 24 hours. Restart the server or scripts because it is not updating.

I agree! In my humble opinion this is the best coin out there right now. It has awesome potential.

Thanks ThunderToe! I have it now and it looks great!  I am wondering is there any chance of adding another column on the transaction page that shows the age of the coins in days or perhaps shows days until ready to mint status. That would be fun to see.

Hello Thundertoe,

I have been reading this thread just recently. I agree that this coin needs a new image. My brother is a retired NYC adverting and market guru. He for many years was the top guy in NYC. He has one many graphics awards. I would like to offer his and my service so that a very sexy coin image can be designed. I am offering our service for free. Pending approval of my brother. He probably will do it if there is not a really tight schedule involved. He and I both have backgrounds in art and graphics. I really believe in this coin and would like to help it succeed.
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TEKcoin Fast,Fair with high interest payments on: May 11, 2014, 12:18:11 AM
Thanks for the reply. I do have my wallet encrypted. So all I have to do is unlock it for minting. That is super easy! Thanks, that is easier than peercoin. I used to have to run a batch file. In next iteration of the tekcoin wallet I suggest putting in a message that says it is minting in the status bar. That would be a good thing. Thanks again for your help!

I am new to Tekcoin and I am wondering how to properly setup the tekcoin wallet for minting. Is there a procedure some where that explains what I have to do. Thanks for the help. How do I verify the wallet is minting?

I have been trying to use this pool for the past 2 nights but it crashes badly when I connect my miners. Approximately 3.5 thz of miners. Is there any hope this can be fixed?

797  Economy / Auctions / Avoid Cointerra Terraminer 4 machines They will disappoint on: April 13, 2014, 04:09:38 AM
I am a retired IBM employee who specialized in hardware and software testing while at IBM. I purchased 2 of Cointerra's Terraminer 4s. I have thoroughly tested them and found this hardware to be completely unsatisfactory. I strongly do not recommend buying one of these devices. If you do you will be sorry. The reasons why this is a bad investment is as follows.

1. They failed to deliver the preorders in a timely manner. You will lose thousands just waiting for the machines to arrive. They will be months later than promised.

2. They under perform in every way that is important.

   a. They promise to deliver a 2 TH machine. The Terraminer 4 cannot be made to go any faster than 1.6 Ths. Believe me when I tell you I have tried. The max speed is 1.6ths which will leave you 400 ghs short. Over time that will cost you loses in the thousands of dollars.

   b. They use nearly double the power that they should use. Each Terraminer uses nearly 2000 watts per machine. This problem will cause you much hardship. This much power usage can't be run reliably in most homes as it will cause the circuit breakers to trip. I had to rewire my workroom to accommodate the extraordinary power consumption. Obviously your power bill will sky rocket when running these machines.

3. The Terraminer 4 are also very sensitive to temperature as well. If the air temperature in the room goes over 77 degrees Fahrenheit the hashing rate drops dramatically sometimes going below 1 ths. What this means to you is that you will have to supply additional air conditioning to keep the temperature below 77 degrees. I am running 2 air conditioners that use about 2800 watts of additional electricity. Needless to say my power bill is staggering because of the inferior design of their hardware. The ac and the 2 Terraminers use approximately 24 dollars a day of power. This cuts very deeply into your profits.
4. The Terraminer 4s also are extremely loud. If you are married there is no way that your wife will let you run these things in your house.

In summation these machines will cost you thousands just to operate. You will spend most of your time monitoring the air conditioning and restarting the miners when they malfunction due to slight over temperature. These machines are garbage avoid them at all cost.

How can I use cgminer to log the overall hashrate value into a file every 5 seconds or do?

Thanks...
