781  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Triangular Arbitrage on: September 27, 2015, 08:43:51 PM

So have you actually managed to make some money by doing this? I must admit that this looks very complicated and time consuming.

The majority of the arbitrage today have been done by the arbitrage bots. I am sure that these bots can be coded to trade these triangular arbitrage as well. This would be much easier to do than to do it manually as you suggested.

It is indeed complicated and OP is exaggerating when he says that it's a zero risk profit.

Would you take a look at this? https://wallet.la/

Seems like TF had some free time in his hands after he was banned.

What makes you think this is TF's? It has none of his signatures on it, and in no way matches his style.

Only said that it seems like it. I have no way to prove that it's him, the websites do look identical though.

From the login screen to the way coins are given away, it all feels similarly to the original inputs.io

It might be him running it, or someone copying the design and/or trying to use that as a scapegoat along with trying to benefit from the much deserved controversy that haunts TF to this day.

783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NeuCoin - Easy to use, free to try, focused on micropayments - Official on: September 27, 2015, 05:12:10 PM
The launch wasn't impressive price wise but I think that was kind of expected for a coin that had an ICO. Only the future will tell if this coin was a honest attempt to innovate or just a flashy cash grab.

Hadn't heard anything about eMunie for about a year. You guys are good at keeping whatever you do out of the radar but this is really worthwhile. You effectively addressed the scalability issue just at the time the bitcoin community is throwing fits about it on a daily basis.
786  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Asking] How much would you buy my steam account ? on: September 27, 2015, 03:01:10 PM
You've got some decent games in your account. But the thing with steam accounts is that they can be recovered by the original owner at any time. The buyer would have to trust you for that.
787  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [$70,000 ] BTC-E Refusing to Change My Old Email on My Account With 300 BTC on: September 27, 2015, 02:15:10 PM
If you were the real owner of the email address, the providers would have asked you similar security questions and you should have had the correct answers to them. They would have definitely given you your account back. So either you created that email with fake details which you can't remember or you are a liar! Your claim that they cannot recover it is pure BS!!!

That depends on the provider. Each one has different policies and not mane would go out of their way or make an exception for accounts.

Maybe this would need intervention with both your email provider and btc-e, the effectiveness is questionable but hiring a lawyer to help with the process should'd be that bad since so much is at stake.
790  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 21 co introducing bitcoin [mining+] computer for $399.99 (unofficial thread) on: September 27, 2015, 11:42:56 AM
Is this thing basically a Raspberry Pi? $400 seems to be a massive markup...it's a nice idea but it really seems too expensive for what you get. It could definitely do without the inefficient mining chip too.

To be fair, we haven't gotten to see the software and the network 21 talks about. Maybe it'll provide owners with access to exclusive features, or maybe not. No way to be certain yet.

Has anyone here pre-ordered this?

What are the addresses found in here: http://185.106.120.64/extractedFromLeakedgox/backoffice/Docs/

Are they related to Mark's ventures or are they more or less personal information?
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Rising on Reddit] Bitpay Reportedly Lays Off Most of Entire Staff on: September 25, 2015, 03:29:01 PM
Oh this is bad news. Bitpay is the only major payment processor after coinbase.
Let's hope that it won't get down. We don't want to give coinbase the monopoly.
I don't think it'd give coinbase the monopoly but rather open up the space for newer and better competitors. Likely those competitors wouldn't get social engineered into handing out 2 million dollars too.

coinbase is goldman sachs.. hopefully they fail too.

I don't think that'd be the case. Coinbase hadn't had a history of making headlines with bad news.

I think they have a more viable and accessible business model with their exchange and wallet service. I think it's good to have them around, having an easy to use service might introduce more people to bitcoin's fundamentals after they do some research of their own.

796  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitpay's new business model... on: September 25, 2015, 03:23:46 PM
So the 30 million in VC funds evaporated? So many bad news for bitpay this year, first they cancel their sponsorship, then lay off employees, get hacked for $2m, cut the "free" servicem and now lay off even more employees. Things just seem to be getting worse for them.
797  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece: the election is over, the economic crisis is not on: September 25, 2015, 03:18:37 PM
Indeed, they will, as long as they could hide the lies they made to their people. If German and French people get behind of all this, then Greece and the Euro will have reached its end.

EU countries will pay Greece debts without any problem. Germany and France are rich countries  Grin

Greece will have to endure some years of financial harshness if they want to overcome the crisis with austerity. The long term loan and stretched out repay plan sounds good but they ought to give the economy a chance to breathe instead of making it struggle with more austerity if they'd ever want Greece to repay.
798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why There Should Be A Bitcoin Central Bank on: September 25, 2015, 03:15:14 PM
People have forgotten why central banks were created. When the U.S. was on the gold standard, the Federal Reserve was created to strengthen the banking system by supporting banks with liquidity problems, which were symptoms of fractional reserve banking. When fractional reserve banking comes to Bitcoin, there will need to be a Bitcoin central bank.

Like it or not, many people are already using bank-like services with bitcoin. Take Jua.com for example, with e free currency like bitcoin you can't control where people send their money and what for. The beauty of bitcoin is that it can be used for any application as long as there's demand and someone to create a platform. The ugly side of this shows up when people are scammed though.
799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 21 Bitcoin Computer on: September 25, 2015, 03:12:49 PM

Unless 21 inc provides free access to their micro transaction network the only digital trading a Bitcoin computer will be doing is with another Bitcoin computer. This is clearly the intention since there is no reason a person selling digital goods or services needs to generate bitcoins. They are already receiving bitcoins. The only reason to mine bitcoins is if they are also a buyer of goods or services from someone else on the 21 inc micro transaction network.

Imagine if instead of registration, PayPal required you to buy a $400 device before you could access their network, that you could only trade with other people who owned that device and that the network was for micro transactions. That would be an NVP not an MVP.

Why would they release it for free? That 400$ device could act as a very expensive ticket to that network.
800  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I speculate that 21 Inc. is insane with their preorder momputer for $400 on: September 25, 2015, 08:35:58 AM
One of the more cynical viewpoints is that the purpose of this specific device is to convince folks that they will be a "big hit" in BTC, so that they rake in big bucks as part of an IPO (Initial Public Offering of stock). In that view all of this just a side show.

They already sucked in $116M from the VC partners. My bet is those guys want to get a REAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT (i.e. way more than $116M)., not just some piddly BTC ROI view either.

They already have access to some very efficient asics fot their mining farm so those investments are not only going to the devices.
