781  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: December 25, 2011, 09:27:28 PM
There is a difference between a drug dealer and a pharmacist. Pharmacy has an independent code of ethics that actually has it's roots in Hellenistic Greece. That code of ethics is actually independent of any government.

I agree that medicine is in a sorry state in the 'developed world'. But the price difference is not likely to be solely attributed to current insurance practices.  Prices of most goods and services vary based the location. I'm sure that a house in suburban, USA would be a couple orders of magnitude cheaper in many other countries. Why should it be any different for medicine?

Because the internet.

Dear Mr. Joint,

You're making yourself look like an idiot.

Sincerely,
Everyone but Kokjo

is that better?

much! thank you. but i still don't think that he should speak for the whole community, and should instead speak as an individual:
Dear Mr. Joint,

You're making yourself look like an idiot.

Sincerely,
Me and RandyFolds

My customers were labeled as ignorant because they don't personally inspect the plant where these products are manufactured.  I think before you take a drug, you don't either.  If this isn't a racism issue, what is your reasoning?  Just explain yourself Smickles.  Nobody on this thread sought you out; you came here with your judgmental and self-righteous comments.  The least you can do is put together a well-reasoned argument to defend your position.

As a country "develops" people lose freedom.  If you travel a bit to third-world and developing countries you begin to see that government is intrinsically oppressive.  The richer and more powerful a government gets the more rules it imposes and the less freedom people have.  My business bridges the gap between the freedoms enjoyed in the developing world and the needs of people in the developed world.  What you are actually protesting is freedom.  You feel a personal affront because your government's power is threatened.  Your government LOVES you.  You are exactly what they want and need to maintain control and limit freedoms.
Ok, maybe I just came in at the wrong time. When I first looked at your thread I saw:

ROFLMAO and LOL s

stuff concerning anabolic steroids and Valium.

Quite frankly, after seeing those three things, you came off as a 'drug dealer' rather than a 'pharmacist' (if you get my dichotomy there). I felt unsettled after seen that stuff and wanted to express that.

Jeez, this is frustrating.

I prefer to get my drugs at a compounding pharmacist, so basically, yeah I often watch them manufacture my drugs.

No, you often watch a guy mix together things manufactured elsewhere...you aren't going to win this one.
785  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many of you have been Zhoutonged? on: December 25, 2011, 05:33:14 PM
Bitcoinica may be threatened when mtgox adds options/margin trading.  That doesn't mean that will happen any time soon.  MtGox is a slow moving beast.  Why discourage Zhoutong when he is providing a valuable service not available elsewhere?  He has clearly demonstrated (IMHO) better responsiveness and more agile development.  Unless you have inside info you're not sharing, MtGox hasn't said anything about this since they posted it on their site over 6 months ago.

He's always been a hater.  Probably just jealousy.

I think this tells us a lot about how you think:

The smartest student, I think, is the one who finds the most efficient means of passing any examination or test they come across.

Yes, even by cheating
The smartest student is the one who learns the most.

School is about the acquisition of knowledge, not passing exams or having a high GPA.

This times a million.

Grades show nothing but how well you comply (which in itself is a valuable measure for gaining employment). An A+ while working your ass off in my mind is no different than a C without trying.

i get 12(the highest) in math, without even trying to do be best. the lessons bores me, and all the stuff we learn i learn in about 10 min, while the other students are struggling... im not working my ass off to get a A+.

Ok...you are good at math. Cool story. Pretty much everyone has something they are good at. That would be the exception, not the rule.
787  Economy / Goods / Re: No prescription, no hassles- bitcoins for meds. Keep it simple. on: December 25, 2011, 01:47:01 AM
Smickles you should speak only for yourself.  Perhaps you are ignorant, but my customers are not.  They take time to understand the drugs they use and unlike big pharma they can make decisions based upon their own interests.
<snip> Don't expect me to post much more in this thread, if at all.
yeah, I guess that comes off as "free reign to call this guy a racist".
I feel compelled to defend myself here now.

I don't have good reason to think that I know where your drugs come from, that's the point. At least with J&J, someone found out about it. So I dispute your baseless claim of racism.

also, in this context, bringing up J&J is a good example of the cherry picking fallacy.

You should research what you argue...the vast majority of flaxceed's wares carry tamper-proof holograms bearing individual serial numbers to validate the manufacturer and quality of the product. There is also an overwhelming amount of consumer information available on forums from people who actively use the products.

Just because you are ignorant doesn't mean the rest of the world is.

When I used to swim competitively, my skin would get so dry that I would be unable to sleep for the crawling and itching feelings.

Is there an environmental contaminant that you come in contact with regularly? What industry is near your home?

Merry Christmas, Goat! I hope you and yours have a wonderful celebration.

Are you going to sneak terrance and phillip in too?

You mean Atlas and Matthew?
793  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think of my oscillator? on: December 24, 2011, 08:04:39 AM
Red and green are always poor choices, despite their symbolism in the financial world. It does make it hard to pick other colors. A large percentage of the male population is red/green colorblind. It's one of those things to watch out for when you are presenting things...kind of like yellow text on a white background.

TL;DR - I'm jealous cause I'm colorblind.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think of my oscillator? on: December 24, 2011, 03:16:24 AM
Why does every friggin' TA graph have to be red and green. I can't see shit.
795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Holidays slump on: December 24, 2011, 01:29:27 AM
So it seems that so many investors waited for the holiday slump that their bids cumulated into a critical mass.  But will the slump arrive?  I think it is still a possibility - after the investors spent the surplus money in the rally.
What is your sample size for this "Holiday Slump" effect?
I don't remember anything specific - but on the way up it was quite common that on weekends and bank holidays there were slumps - because no new money was coming in.  On the way down this effect disappeared - but now we are back on an up trend aren't we?

With Dwolla Instant that effect will be lessened.

Dwolla Instant is a non-issue. They have already been overwhelmed and had to cut the service off. Another amateur move by dwolla, but did anyone see giving away free money as going well?

Regarding the slump...what slump? Bitcoin is double the price of last month.

Are these shipping now with an updated power brick?

Our production system that is currently in manufacture for delivery, has two regulators on board, supporting max 120A of current implemented as a safety margin. The PSU shipped with the units will be equally supporting up to 135 Watts.
Not shipping yet, but will have updated brick.

Yes, it's projected shipping date is 4-6 weeks. Just like three months ago...
798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MtGox account with $220 blocked for more than six weeks without explanation on: December 23, 2011, 12:52:27 AM
They receive much more benefit from continuing their operations as-is ($2000-$5000/day) than they would from stealing everyone's funds without reporting it and turning into some sort of fractional-reserve that will eventually go bust.

I'd like to see the bookkeeping on that one. Fractional reserve banking is all sorts of profitable, and the problems it causes are those that we are already seeing; unexplained delays, account funding problems, etc.

They already have huge incentive to manipulate the market. There is absolutely no transparency. If they add their 'advanced trading' in, they will indeed be busting out the fractional reserve.
799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MtGox account with $220 blocked for more than six weeks without explanation on: December 22, 2011, 09:21:10 PM
Wow, what a crock...That is unbelievable. I would probably contact my financial institution and dwolla and throw the fraud word around a bit. Why support Mt.Gox after this BS? It just gives them the green light to do it in the future.

800  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [326 GH/s 0% fee SMPPS] ArsBitcoin mining pool! Come join us! on: December 22, 2011, 07:12:11 PM
Is the auto payout broken?
I believe autopayout has been broken for most of the week.  Today, however, none of my miners can connect to arsbitcoin at all.  They connect to my backup pool just fine, but ars doesn't seem to be accepting connections.  And the pool's hash rate has droppped down to 78.6 GH/s, which is very low (I believe it normally hovers between 275-350 GH/s).  I suspect Burning Toad may  have let it die, as he warned us might happen.  Have you tried to cash out today?  If so, any luck?

I got auto-paid yesterday, and i am on server 2, hashing away, albeit with high stalerate.
