I am looking to get into mining but not in a big way. I just want to buy one or two GPUs and put into my existing computer. I figure if nothing else I can SLI them together for gaming...
The perfect reason to mine with a gpu or two. And why it is never too late to start mining for a gamer. Yeah gamer can mine instead and learn how mining can be profitable. By the way if you have 0.7$ electricity price, you always be profitable even in the bear market like couple months ago. if you have good gpu like vegas Dont be to hard on them"These noobs", crypto price driving up like crazy becauze of them, we should thanks fo their helps  |

thinking of bios modification to my ref vegas 56. Can someone please (that has done it) tells me a good stable config and the pros/cons of all this? does it worth it? already stable 56's with 1880h/s each
You cannot mod the BIOS of a Vega 56, you can only modify PowerPlay tables for Vega. Alternatively, you can use Win10 and the latest beta version of OverdriveNTool 0.2.8beta1. Also, you can swap the Vega 56 BIOS with the Vega 64 BIOS. But you cannot mod a Vega BIOS. If you don't maintain the HBM2 temps BELOW 70 C, you will lose hashrate. I didn't not notice a huge increase in temps when swapping 56 BIOS with 64. Greater range for clocks and memory frequency increases temps proportionally. Before messing with swapping BIOS, I'd solve your temp problem first. In other words, why increase the clocks and frequency capability when it is simply going to throttle back? Core1450mhz/906mv, mem 1090mhz/906mv fan at 3400/4900 with taget temp set to 67 you should be fine, at 32°C ambient temp, no problem happen on my rigs CNv4/R Vega56(bios64) : 1960hs Vega64 : 2040hs 6x vega56 : 11750hs/1200watt |

im mining about $18+ per day worth of crypto, which i will not mention
to me, i am still profitable which is why i still mine
i do not sell my crypto to pay for electricity, i do that out of my own pocket
i invest all my mining earnings into a coin that i believe will be worth something greater in the future (gambling)
So only 50% profit from electricity, considering it loss if you mining under 110% from electricity |

The guys in RYO are ANTI-ASIC and got the true Skillz needed to develop new unique features in crypto space.
The development of CN-GPU algo is even something that MONERO cannot achieve.
I hold RYO because i trust the developers through their actions, they all deserve credit for what they do for us.
Also everything I've seen speaks for some serious top of the line skills of the team, for example: They make XMR-STAK software, and other miners copy this code and release it as closed source miners.
Just wanna give some credit to RYO team, and don't complain that RYO code isn't open source, because then others would just steal the code.

if eth moves to progpow then most likely amd cards are dead on it cause nvidia cards have a huge advantage on it. The good thing is ethash asics will be dead. Funny though, most people using miners in the north hemisphere is to heat their houses hehe, I believe eth price will increase many times this year but if not then many using miners to heat the house will turn off as soon as teh winter ends and dif will crash.

+ Added check for last sent share time, if no share was sent to pool for 30 minutes, miner will restart.
+ To make it easier for everyone, lots of algo name aliases were added, you can now use algo names from Stak, Xmrig, etc... Also you can use coin names, and if an alias exists, it will select the right algo for you.
Examples for "cryptonight_type" :
- tube
- monero
- cryptonight_turtle
- masari
etc..
Also added aliases for Masari, Stellite and Turtle for MoneroOcean, so miner will now switch to those coins.
