The very first Single SC 60gh/s unit was shipped out on Tues 06/11/2013 during the 5 o'clock hour. I know this because I happened to visit BFL HQ on the right day. This is a momentous occasion for Butterfly Labs and the Bitcoin community as a whole. I will be posting a full write-up of my visit in the next couple hours. This write-up will contain a lot of information, some of which is unknown to the general public and other information will clarify a lot that has been left to speculation. There were maybe 8 Singles that had been built and tested while I was there, most of which did not have any problems getting into the 60gh range, even with un-binned chips, so no one should worry about getting a device with less than their ordered hashrate. Without further ado, here is some pics of the first Single being boxed up and shipped out to one very lucky customer..........................................

The firmware is finalized and the long boards are finalized. I will get a count of how many longboards are coming in this week tomorrow (Monday) to see where we stand. I believe BFGminer is fixed (and I will be sending long boards to Con and Kano for CGMiner to have it fixed) and ready to go.

All product lines should start shipping next week unless something unexpected come up between now and tomorrow afternoon.

Looks like the SC's will start shipping this week.

Note:  Priced changed due to btc price drop.

It'll soon be Monday and the banks will be open again after the weekend with lots of new money flowing into exchanges to buy bitcoins.
786  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] August 2012 [60(GH/s)] BFL SC pre-order on: June 08, 2013, 03:11:23 AM
Lol this is getting ridiculous now, people with pre-orders are starting to get worried they wont make back their investment while at the same time taking advantage of the stupid prices for asics. Buying any pre-order at this stage for more than double what it's worth is absolutely nuts.

What is it worth?  If you wanted the same hash-rate from an inferior chip that is now also delayed you'd pay BTC300 to pre-order.  The SC's will be worth only $2,500 each when there shipping next day.  Until then get to the back of the cue and wait.  I will say tho BFL have promised to be shipping next day by September but that SC offered for sale has got a cue of ten months of pre-orders behind it.
787  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] August 2012 [60(GH/s)] BFL SC pre-order on: June 08, 2013, 02:57:45 AM
I have three 60(GH/s) SC's pre-ordered from last summer and in (now delayed) Blades there worth BTC300 each.  I actually think there worth more than the blades due it being 65nm so there be more economical to mine longer after the Blades are no longer economical to run.  I do believe  the SC's will ship in mass this month like the Jalapeños have already started too.  So if anyone wants to offer me BTC225 for a August pre-order booked to be hosted by BFL let me know.  I will even accept a BTC25 non returnable deposit.  With the other $24000 of bitcoin to be paid once the SC's range is shipping.  If you don't have enough bitcoins to buy this pre-order from last summer but do have cash maybe we can work a deal.  Where you pre-order me eleven SC's for me ( well RSM - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63257.0) now and'll give you the August 60(GH/s) pre-order.  Remember there is no shipping time to wait for it to hash as its due to be hosted by BFL but postage was paid so maybe something can be worked out.

It should be a crime to be that stupid  Cheesy

This board may ship quicker than now pre-ordering the delayed Blades and it will last longer as its 65nm chips plus I'm offering it cheaper.  I'm only offering it as I have two other early pre-orders with one from the 7th of July.  It's just a matter on whether you think an August 2012 60(GH/s) pre-order is worth more than  550(GH/s) of pre-orders made now.  Which I'm not even sure on myself but I'm hedging my bets as I have the other two SC's to play with.  Also the ASIC's are owned by RSM who have a 90% reinvestment plan to buy more ASIC's.  The plan of RSM is not to just get as many coins as quickly as possible but grow its hash-rate as fast as possible.  BFL don't even have the chips yet for pre-orders currently being made.  IIRC all the current wafers they have will take them up to Christmas 2012 pre-orders at the most.  So I'm taking a gamble too.
788  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Red Star Mining - 180(GH/s) on: June 07, 2013, 11:47:43 PM
I offered our second pre-order for BTC225 as previously discussed.  This will enable us to pre-order another ten SC's and increase our hash-rate by 278% to 620(GH/s) from the current 180(GH/s) on pre-order.  While still leaving us with two early pre-orders to mine on while we wait for delivery.

790  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ButterflyLabs BitForce 50 / 60 GH/s BitCoin Miner Single SC pre-order on: June 07, 2013, 10:49:13 PM
Would someone really buy a pre-order from you that you only made less than 2 months ago from BFL? In cash up front, no less.

You are modeling the current profit if you had your units in hand now, but what will they be worth in the next century, when BFL actually ships March 2013 orders?

I agree with it being such a recent order its not worth paying over cost for these.  I have three 60(GH/s) SC's from early July and in (now delayed) Blades there worth BTC900.  I actually think there worth more than the blades due it being 65nm so there be more economical to mine longer.  I do believe  the SC's will ship in mass this month like the Jalapeños have already started too.  So if anyone wants to offer me BTC270 for a July 7th order booked to be hosted by BFL let me know.

Very good post D&T  Wink  When I first joined the forums in 2011 I used to argue with you a lot about bitcoin ideology and just thought you was using your mastery of prose and my lack of it to troll me.  Tho reading your posts over the last couple of years I've built a lot of respect for you and now take your bitcoin 'preaching' as gospel.  I think you should be labelled as a 'superhero' and not just 'hero' on this forum for the educational value you bring.  Thanks for your posts  Smiley

Late on the 1st of June 2013 - BFL_Josh - Shoutbox - :     Boards (long and short) arrived tonight.  They will be putting stuff together tomorrow all day. We  basically aren't taking any days off and will be running a 24 hours a day as required if we have stuff in stock and ready to go.

Plenty, many, lots - these words to you and I mean something, to Josh and BFL they mean wiggle room.  Since those words can be subjective, plenty could mean 25? 50? 5000? either way, in BFL's eyes, saying plenty and shipping 50 wouldnt be misleading or a lie.

I am pretty sure the BFL ship has sunk like tha titanic.

BFL shipped 750 orders today.  I'm confident our first order will ship this month and all three orders by the end of August almost certainly.  We will then be saving 90% of our mined coins towards a KNCMiner.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome the next hurdles of success? on: June 03, 2013, 10:24:53 PM
I'm still kicking myself for not getting in on it when it launched. I think it has good prospects for long term success.

That being said, it is still an abstract currency, even less backing it than fiat. I like what it's doing, I'm surprised by it's current valuation, and I think it has great potential. But it's far too early to tell. Makes for great poker, though.

Your still an early adopter bitcoin is not mainstream or even 1% of global transactions yet.  If you believe bitcoin wont fail then the only way is up to £100K coins.  This recent stability is good but I predict another much bigger rally within six months of the next block reward halving.

I am going and a few other on r/bitcointalk.org have confirmed attendance. I see that the previous Manchester meet up was organised by nefarious of glbse infamy and Matthew N. Wright.  Not sure if those guys are still involved with BTC, perhaps they are just under different names.

Anyway if you are about come along

It wasn't Matthew N Wright.
797  Economy / Economics / Re: This week has given me pause: I'm getting out of BTC on: May 31, 2013, 05:46:07 AM
What gives me faith, though, is that the bitcoin market did not budge at all, and in fact went UP after the LR press release.

Here is the question I can't answer right now... if the largest funding source for the most traded currency (USD) on the highest volume exchange is now closed then how is money going to get into and out of the market?  I too am surprised that neither price NOR volume changed very much with this event.  That alone makes me very concerned.  The volume is either fake, inflated by API trading, or something else.

That's where I think you are absolutely wrong.  LR and Dwolla were a tiny portion of the USD funding for MtGox.  Wires have always been how the big money funds their accounts.  Dwolla might have had quite a few individual transactions, but they were only used for smaller transactions.

I think a large part if not most of bitcoin trades are done off exchanges.  Look at LocalBitcoins and bitcoin-otc.
798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've never been into ALTCOINs, but would it be wise to convert some BTC to LTC? on: May 30, 2013, 06:36:46 PM
I think either only Bitcoin will succeed, or Bitcoin-based cryptocurrency will become fragmented across an increasing number of networks, with its cryptocoin supply approaching infinity, so I recommend only investing in Bitcoin.

That may not turn out true compare alt-coins to languages.  Yes you get dominate ones but there can be many and small ones that are still usable.
