781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: After RIG restart on Windows 10 I can't see all GPU on: March 01, 2018, 02:30:55 PM
Hi,

I have a RIG on MSI Z170A Carbon MB with 6 GPU GTX1070 and 1 GPU GTX1080Ti,
all worked fine, when for some reason there is a power loss after reboot I can't see
just 4 GPU on Windows 10.

If I reboot the RIG same situation, in order to fix this problem I have to shutdown the
Windows and then start again and all GPU come back.

There is a windows command to rescan the PCI-e bus and made discover the GPU on
Windows ?

Do you know why ? I can't manage this situation remotely because I have to stop the
RIG and the start it again manually from power button.

Anyone had the same problem and have solve it ?

Thanks

Try in Windows device manager, then Scan hardware changes.

Doesn't work !!!

do you use 2 psu's? what's the power rating?

If it happen that you use 2 psu's, chances are 1 PSU doesn't fully synch with the other GPU's connected to the motherboard.

What is best solution to mine with this? Eth or zec maybe? Or something else?

Cryptonight,Ethash,Zec, Neoscrypt those are for AMD's sweetcoins.

the best? Just hold them

784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: does zpool pay out in BTC? on: March 01, 2018, 09:20:49 AM
Hey All,

Got a quick question.  I want to start using ZPool to mine LUXcoin.  when I edit the start .bat file, am I suppose to put in my bitcoin address, the LUX port and for the coin symbol, am I suppose to put in BTC or LUX?  Just want to make sure I do it right so I don't waste a whole day of mining.

Example below:  Trying to mine LUX and get paid out in BTC

-o stratum+tcp://<algo>.mine.zpool.ca:<LUX PORT> -u <BITCOIN ADDRESS> [-p c=<BTC SYMBOL>,<OPTIONS>]

OR

-o stratum+tcp://<algo>.mine.zpool.ca:<LUX PORT> -u <BITCOIN_ADDRESS> [-p c=<LUX SYMBOL>,<OPTIONS>]

Also, what am I suppose to put in the Option section?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

If you want to be paid in BTC use this

-o stratum+tcp://<algo>.mine.zpool.ca:<LUX PORT> -u <BITCOIN ADDRESS> [-p c=<BTC SYMBOL>,<OPTIONS>]

Take note of this statement from the zpool "YOU MUST ALWAYS set your currency in your password field that matches your wallet address: c=<SYMBOL>. "

don't worry about options as this is purely optional and you may skip it.

785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore hangs on purple line with hardware infos (ETH, AMD) on: March 01, 2018, 08:35:25 AM
Hi,
i am running two AMD RX 570 rigs for about two weeks now, no issues so far.

yesterday, i saw both rigs hanging in claymore miner.
everytime i start the claymoreminer, it starts mining for a few seconds, and then it freezes.
i can close the mining window and restart - rig starts mining, and freeze again.
i already tried to soften the clock and voltage settings, and i have no memory errors.

now i found out, that i dont see that purple line in claymore miner anymore.
you know, there are blue lines with hashrate info, there are green lines for found shares, and there is this purple line with fanspeed and temp info.
both rigs seem to run the claymore miner the same way. it is showing hashrate and found shares, but it looks like the freeze will occur, when it tries to get the hardwareinfos for the purple line!?
the last two weeks everything was fine.

anyone has an idea?

PS: i also tried to run the rig with another mining client (the one from ethermine.org), and its working. that client does not ask for the sensor values, so, i think this is the problem. but why does that come after two weeks on both rigs? whats the problem? how to fix it?

thanks!

Are you using risers? if not, try to plug unplug your GPU's to refresh contacts, if yes, try to replace the risers, if still persist, try to plug 1 GPU in x16 PCIe slot.

mostly risers will be worn out in due time depends on manufacturer reliability
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard for beginner/experiment? on: March 01, 2018, 05:42:01 AM
Hi,

As a experiment/learning experience I got a Gigabyte H110M-A motherboard (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H110M-A-rev-10#ov) for running a "lab" with only 2 GPUs.

Should it work? ie: I guess as long as my PSU is big enough and I have the PCIe risers, any motherboard with PCIe connectors can be used.

Is that correct? thanks.

Yep, I have this board my 1st mining rig for a few months while waiting on my z97 motherboard to arrive. Run it smoothly with my Seasonic 850w PSU and RX480 reference 8GB cards.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU crashes on Cryptonight but mines ETH without issues on: March 01, 2018, 05:13:05 AM
Does it crash when you load the stock BIOS on it and run without any OC settings? Like just vanilla.

yes tried stock. no crash. dont remember the h/s tho
@tg88
Cryptonight uses less power  ETH for me uses 78w on GPU1 and Cryptonight uses 58w

Probably in your Modding Bios, have you done Overclocking thru bios modding?

see this detailed guide and try to reflash

788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! AMD Driver Problems *REWARD* on: February 28, 2018, 04:08:27 PM

Yeah I do them both individually using afterburner.  I prefer afterburner or something similar over bios flashing, its a little safer, easier to fine tune and change for different currancy. The adjust, flash, restart, test and repeat method is just way too tedious. Same reason I prefer the copy&paste method of modifying the straps. I dont know enough about it to tweak em to the max. For eth I just adjust the mem clock to get the highest hash rate and then underclock the core till it starts droppin. Seperately I can get about 30 mh/s with the 580 on crimson and about 25 mh/s with the 470 on asus...right now together on adrenaline Im getting about 25 and 19, which really isnt bad i guess but just knowing theyre both capable of more drives me nuts..

Weird huh, yeah you're right 570 could at least go with 28-29 mh/s, btw, are you using risers? I was just thinking if it happens you're using it, try to plug the two GPU's directly on the board x16 slot if it is capable. otherwise try to replace them.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! AMD Driver Problems on: February 28, 2018, 07:18:48 AM
@leonix007   The latest 18.2.1 drivers claim to support both as well.  Ive tried them all after first uninstalling any trace of the cards from the computer and The RX470  is only recognized for what it is by its own ASUS drivers and performs by far the best with them. Crimson, adrenaline or any other amd driver all drop the 470s hashrate by 10%-20%. probably due to the mis identification as a 570 and the Asus drivers are even worse for the sapphire 580. I have already flashed modified bios onto both cards, which made some improvements but If I want max performance, which, who doesnt? Im going to need to use both drivers... there has got to be a way. My Intel IGD drivers run flawlessly alongside either the Asus or AMD drivers, doesnt effect either card in any way. So it is definitely possible...just gotta figure out how....come on bitcointalk.org community....I will for sure hook somebody up with a minimum of .0001 btC for a solution.

I feel you bro, I have one rig with mixed AMD and Nividia and doing headache, anyways, looking at your prob I have a feeling it might be the clock issue, did you use MSI afterburner to do clocks? since this is a different cards it should be configured on each card.

just ensure that amd drivers is in Compute mode.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help! AMD Driver Problems on: February 28, 2018, 06:10:46 AM
EVen the recommended Adrenaline drivers also label it a 570. If it was just the label, I would say fuck it but thats not the case, the 570 drivers on the 470 dont work right.

I wonder how this doesn't work, Adrenalin drivers supposedly support Rx400 and Rx500 series

Hey everyone, I have a question. Is anyone at this moment running an FX 8350 on Nicehash? Could you tell me how much you are getting daily at full power? Thanks!

My FX 6100 @4.0 OC (280 h/s), is making 5000btc/0.5$ daily btw...

there are CPU benchmark online, that CPU could reach upto 450 h/s, so if you're on nicehash pool you could probably earn 30% compare to FX 6100

792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 out of 5 GPUs running @ low hashrate after turning off (Claymore) on: February 28, 2018, 03:04:04 AM
So I’ve been having this issue ever since I turned my 6x RX 570 rig off. Upon turning it on, 4 of the cards are getting 22-23mh/s but the other 2 are only getting around 15mh/s. I presume it’s a software/settin issue somewhere as sometimes the 2 lower hash rates will be cards 2 & 3 while other times it will be 4 & 5. I’m using Claymore in single mining mode and everything was running smoothly up until I turned the rig off for a few days.

Can anyone think of anything that could make this happen? I’ve tried just about everything other than reinstalling drivers, and it’s starting to really frustrate me. Also does anyone know if a slow internet connection can cause lower hash rates on certain cards only? Thx for any insight anyone can provide on this in advance!

have you checked your drivers and on AMD settings if "Compute Mode" is enabled?

794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why do you small timers even bother? on: February 28, 2018, 12:33:12 AM
If you have good credit, I would buy mining equipment with credit cards (find one with 0% interest for 24+ months) and use that card for your mining expenses. I get as many reward points as I can this way.

You sir, are an idiot. Telling people to buy this stuff on credit is far and away the dumbest piece of advice you can offer anyone. If you are too poor to buy a mining rig, putting one on credit will just put you more into the hole. It takes money to make money and buying mining equipment on a credit card is the perfect way to dig yourself into even more debt.

Idiot? Really? are you telling this without getting into water did you, if you're into it the story changes, started my 1st rig year 2016 on CC's with decent low interest, already ROI'd and paid in full. have now additional 5 rigs Grin

Quote
A lot of business started off with loans and debt and take a few years to be above water.  I see this quite similiar but on a smaller scale.  I have no regrets maxing out my CC Smiley .  NO risk no reward. Tongue .  Heck GPU prices even gone up.  Their is really zero risk mining but also gains are not as lucrative as buying.

Imagine if you decided to hold off on buying gpus last year, You would have missed the whole rally and paid double for gpus now. Fundamentals will say never fund things on debt but the stats and facts will always tell a different story.  Best time to mine will always be months ago, not months ahead.

People are really speculative, doing business is not only if you have money in your pocket, sometimes you need guts to get things done.

Guys is ethermine.org still one of the go to pools for ethereum mining?

I always have about 96% accepted shares and 4% stale shares .. ? Why 4%? Is that the miner fee?
What does stale mean in this relation?

No its not a miner fee, there are some factors on stale shares most probably is the latency of pool, check your mining pool location, choose the nearest to you to decrease latency, also check your connectivity, stable connection is the key.

I mean the weekly outcome is good but slightly below of the whattomine calculation with my "reported" hashrate from my rigs.

All rigs perfectly stable since the last restart one week ago. No disconnects, restarts, etc.

Any help or info for me?

Thanks a lot!

Have you heard about Difficulty?  Wink it may cause your outcome for being not stable

797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 27, 2018, 03:50:11 AM
Sorry for long post.

I am attempting to use Claymore's Dual Miner V11 to mine Ethereum/XVG. I have also attempted using the ETH only mining mode. Whenever I run the start.bat, my computer hangs and then crashes every single time causing hard boot after this step: "Create GPU Buffer for GPUX" - the GPU has changed to all of them (0-5) through multiple attempts. I have attempted to run the miner with each single GPU (and other 5 disconnected) unsuccessfully. I have tested the miner on my regular desktop and bat file runs without difficulty.

Here are my specs:
x6 XFX Radeon 570 (all 6 cards appear in device manager - DDU successfully run - all changed to compute mode via AMD settings - current software version 18.2.1 adrenalin)
Intel Pentium G4400 Skylake Dual-Core 3.3 GHz
4GB Kingston HyperX FURY Black 2133MHz DDR4 (have also attempted x2 for 8GB without success)
ASUS Z170 Maximus VIII (bios updated via EZ FLASH)
EVGA SuperNOVA 1200W P2 80+ PLATINUM
Silicon Power 60GB SSD (have attempted running this as a third output for the 3 SATA cables each running two of the GPUs and given its own 4th SATA cable)
Windows 10 (installed via bootable UEFI USB)

Bios settings:
DMI max link speed gen 2
PEG PCI link speed gen 2
PCIE confing PCIE speed gen 2
Disabled LED Lighting
Disabled HD Audio
Above 4G Decoding Enabled
Disabled Integrated Graphics (this was necessary for system to recognize 6 GPU)

Windows settings:
Disabled windows firewall/defender/antivirus
Ran Windows 10 Registry tweaks for mining.bat (from mining.help)
Ran Windows update (now disabled)
Have changed virtual memory settings (attempted low end from suggested to 16000 and high end from 20000-24000)

start.bat file:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us2.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal WalletNumber.WalletName -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://xvg.eu1.unimining.net:5770 -dwal WalletNumber -dpsw c=XVG -dcoin blake2s
have also attempted to mod -gser and this seemed to slightly delay the crash
have also attempted to mod -lidag and this seemed to slightly delay the crash

Windows logs show this critical error with every crash:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

I'm at my wits end as far as what else to try. Any ideas are appreciated.

Edit: have not changed GPU BIOS or attempted overclocking/undervolting yet.

For isolation, try to plug/install a single GPU on the main PCI-e x16 slot. then fire up miner.

if this will run smoothly, you have a riser problem. Wink
798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stability issues with two msi GeForce GTX 1080 ti Aero on: February 26, 2018, 12:51:17 PM

1) What PSU power do I need in order to run both graphics cards whitout stability issues?

Your 850w is more than enough to power up the 2 ti's, ensure that it is a decent PSU brand like Corsair,EVGA,Seasonic

Quote
2) With the PSU that I have (850W), using msi afterburner to reduce the max power of each graphics card, is it possible to avoid this stability problem? If so, to what percentage should I reduce?

It must be your overclocking issues, try these clocks

Power limit  70%
Mem Clock -100
Core Clock + 100

this is also a good read for 1080ti clocks

799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best altcoin to mining this year? on: February 26, 2018, 12:25:17 PM
There are 3 commons algorithms: SHA-256, ethas and Scrypt. Can we choose a hardware system that suitable for 3 algorithms above, so we can switching between different coin to achieve the highest profit?

I'm afraid haven't heard of such mining machine that could mine the 3 algo you mention,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2041501.0

what you could do is to have or buy mining machines to each algo

SHA-256 - ASIC https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020180223140521580d8fsikKK06CB

Scrypt - ASIC https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201802231346322280rNE8Q2F0627

Ethash - GPU soon to be ASIC
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best altcoin to mining this year? on: February 26, 2018, 06:57:52 AM
I start to digging about altcoin mining, what is the criteria to choose the altcoins to mining?
I think i should be:
-Price and potential to growth

This is a bit tricky and somewhat a challenge as you have to consider your daily cost, so most miners are usually chasing what is the most profitable at present and not focused on coin growth.

Quote
-The mining cost(hardware + power) per $ mining

overpriced or out of stock hardware, its not easy to build without going thru with these two nowadays.

Quote
-Depreciation of hardware.

GPU's are more likely least depreciated
