Hi all,
will i be able to mine different coins using a same miner may be from s9 or l3, ofcourse one at a time?
i have a confusion in buying miner, its between antminer s9 and antminer l3.
is is it like s9 is only made to mine bitcoins or can i mine litecoins too from s9?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

No you can't. S9 is specifically used for Sha-256 coins. You can mine other coins with this algo except Bitcoin but Litecoin has different algo (scrypt). That's why Antminer has 2 different products.

if you don't know the answer to this then i would advise you NOT to get into mining until you have done a LOT of reading. it is not a game for the faint hearted these days and can lead to losses in the end. there is lots to weigh up,like electricity costs, where are the mining rigs going to be, cooling the miners is very very important. which algos are the most profitable( and sha-256 is not profitable to mine now). it's an enjoyable game to play if your hands on and thec savvy. if you just want to plug it in and leave it then your wasting your time and money

hi. this mail devicetelc@gmail.com promised me antminer s9 at 1900 euro shipping and power suplly included. can it be real? to me it seems very cheap, so must be fraud. what do you say? Its a scam, you shouldn't have to ask. If it sounds to good to be true its a scam. Don't buy unless you can see in person, buy direct from Bitmain, or use a trusted escrow. Everything else you are just asking to lose your money. |

Litecoin is a Sha256 coin. Everywhere I have looked the antminer9 states It can mine that currency. It is also advertised to mine LCC. I have been doing my research and not sure what you were looking at. Unless stated by manufacturer, which I have been researching, you should be able to mine any alt coin with an ASIC miner that is on the SHA256 network. |
