Will be doing the same thing, am planning to buy worth 300$ of Btc this week since the price went down...... And keep our fingers crossed till the price goes up......... I not sure about that, it's crazy for bitcoin to getting a hard level of decrease. last just checked on my local exchange site and the price it's always stable not happened any transformation for that. but the effect from halving is not instantly be perceived by a lot of bitcoin users. |

In fact, the bitcoin relies on the dollar. in the reality, bticoin is always reliable with the dollar to getting their value. because the dollar having a big impact for another fiat currency and if bitcoin having a big value in dollar maybe it's will make a domination for another fiat too.

Bitcoin is much used in gambling as well as investment. As a investment I hold for short terms and do converting to fiat based upon the price variation.
But I never getting an interested to spend my bitcoin in gambling, but both of them I having a lot of people. the gambling users are always having an investment too. i suing bitcoin for short term investment and same with you after this just exchange it to the fiat. |

I was told a few times that, when halving is super close/already happened, the price would increase significantly.
Now that the halving event is probably 5 hours or so from now, what can you say about the current price? It's still hovering at around $650 despite the imminent event.
Right now, I'm disappointed simply because so many people say that the price would increase, but my mood may change if something significant happens (pissed if going down, happy when going up).
the price doesn't change instantly, dude. just wait for a few weeks later or even months to see the real impact of this halving. keep patient. My prediction's true, a lot of people believe the price will change for instantly and making a big expectation for that. but in fact, the price of bitcoin is not changing significantly. too fast to reach $800 or above, irrational expectation. some people just making a statement without saw the situation on the market. |

If you have invested in bitcoin a fear months back you would have got a nice ROI. Just buying bitcoin, no need to do some complicated trade strategy's.

The problem is too much expecting for the target. Months ago $500 is considered as a high price therefore many don't want to buy at that price or close to that price. And what happen? Price increase for really a great percentage and surpass that $500 range. There is no really exact price to buy and sell our bitcoins. Do it on purpose. actually there is always some kind of indication to set some price in your mind to buy and sell bitcoin. if you study the charts you will understand what i mean. for example in case of $500 rise a while back, everything were pointing towards a big rise: the stable price, the testing of bottom a couple of times and many other things and it happened eventually. Only big whales hope for a stable bitcoin price,are you a big whale? Maybe you are. I still love investing into btc casino's,they made pretty good profit a day if players won't win a lot,but they will lose  I don't get the point why whales like stable price, now they like the unstable price as they can easily manipulate the price to maximize their profit, when the price will be stable trading and investing would not be that profitable compared to the current state. I don't agree either, big whales prefer that Bitcoin increases (since they own a lot of it). So some might like variability, because it may increase their chances to get more valoue out of each bitcoin. I think they will really earn a lot of income if they are an investor but with stable price they will not continue to earn as when they sell their bitcoins that has previously purchase during unstable times they cannot buy new coins anymore. in this situation many people predict the price will rising but nothing happened with bitcoin for now, the price just stable and nothing get any increase. and in this time the investor or trader will feel a hard situation. |

Sure, bitcoin is very interesting for me and i believe on it, in future price should increase much more higher and bitcoin also will be much more popular.
bitcoin have something unique that makes a lot of newcomers attracted to invest or adopt a system of bitcoin. That's why bitcoin continue to get new users and continues to grow. I believe bitcoin could be better than this year Bitcoin does not have a something unique in my opinions, but bitcoin offers an easiness to new comers in bitcoin. this become importnatn reason for alot of pople want to join in bitocin. but in the bitcoin situation is stable for now. i hope will have a great future for next time. |

It would be nice to have Bitcoin as a currency used in your local region alongside with the currency that has been there all along. That would be quite nice since we actually wouldn't have to convert our money to FIAT unless some would still think that it won't be liquid. Though it would still be nice to see it becoming a accepted currency worldwide.
If both fiat and bitcoin are accepted in your country, and bitcoin is accepted in foreign countries as well, which would you rather have?  Governments might become insecure because of this. Good question. I would pick fiat for now. For I cant use bitcoin in my daily needs I need to exchange it to fiat first. Wait, if I pick the wrong one is death the consequence? I would accept part of my salary to be in Bitcoin because it's really hard for me to buy Bitcoin in the country i'm living in. So this would really be convinient for me, since the rate i'm getting Bitcoin at the moment is really slow and i need more of it because i use it for all my online transactions on NewEgg and buying Steam games.
Really hard to buy bitcoin? maybe you can search local seller for this. but using the bank to buy bitcoin and it's easy. but needed some balance in your bank account to do this. I sure if you want to explore about this you can find the way for this problem. |

Currently i don't think that Bitcoin is going to die, because it's having the price rising and also the community using this currency is growing up daily as well, so we expect great future for Bitcoin.
That's right that things is enough for bitcoin to continue growing and not to die. If you ask me, bitcoin will going to die if no one will use it and all miners will shutdown their mining hardware and if that happens for sure it's the end of bitcoin  . From some reason and i can make an expectation if bitcoin will not to die on this period and maybe for next time too, but bitocin will not instantly will going to die, if no want will use it. it's will take a time for bitcoin to going die and i think that's will not happen on this period. |

4 years later after this thread was created the halving is going to happen again, and now there are 93 blocks left until 420,000th block.
It is expected to happen today (UTC time) and let's see what will happen with the bitcoin price, I'm excited to see the surprises.
But maybe the situation of this halving is very different with the previous halving because until this time we can't show the marking of halving or impact from halving to the bitcoin, the price just stable and a lot of people feels it. maybe this halving has become the worst halving in bitcoin history. |

i'm afraid this is not going to happen. whales are now partying because price went down and now they can buy more cheap bitcoins, this is their party and then the rise is their second party. But all of this is cause the whale, with a very big amount they can do anything, maybe make a manipulate and another. but this is giving a bad impact for small users just relies on the price of bitcoin.and they can make prices arbitrarily. |

I have great troubles with Paypal, they use a callcenter in Tirana and albanians are talking in italian as real alians.
They have not shipped to me a new credit card.
Bitcoin is always better than paypal even i heard the same that most of people in paypal are getting hacked and its not as secure as bitcoin. Always i prefer bitcoin over paypal. That is the owner fault because they imprudent to make a transaction on site with not have any good security, and the hackers it's easy to into the site with injection software, it's my experience about this. because Paypal is not guilty in this cases. |

You made a loss of 7btc in 2 years and you are happy? I have been earning and buying bitcoin for 2 years and I don't have 7 btc yet. What have you learned these years in trading? To stop loss? I think you should just keep the bitcoin in a safe wallet and leave them. It's going to worth much more in a few years. it's up to him, because if he is a rich people, & BTC it's just a small amount. better to giving another advice than you tell to only keep their amount into the wallet. but I think the loss of 7 BTC in 2 years it's normal. even some people is losing more than 7BTC just for a few days. |

For me I recommend lending, you can give loans here on this forum or invest on p2p lending sites like btcjam , etc. You can also try your luck on gambling or investing on HYIPs though it's not recommended.
Lending is a very good way to make profit on this forum if you have inital deposit,the only problem is that you need to find trustworthy person,and you motto need's to be "no collateral no loan"  I like investing in btc casino's,it yields pretty good profit too. I am aware some people are doing great with lending. But it's risky don't forget that. Sometimes you need to do a lot of effort to get 1 dollar back. For me personally that's not worth it. You are right, I would not focus on lending in the community, I believe there are other ways that we can learn here in the community aside form gambling, I would rather do day trading. Another person i cannot understand. Why you dont like lending too? It can yield big profit's without big risk,the key is just to dont accept loans without collateral and to loan money only to trustworthy people,and it is really easy to gain some interest rate. Big profits without big risk? I can't understand you my friend. When i was doing my due diligence on btcjam even then I think more than 20% of users didn't pay back. Then for an experiment I used the autoinvest feature with strict critera, and the rate was even worse. Maybe more than 40% didn't pay back. As for lending here with so called collateral I didn't make any personal experiences but I really wouldn't consider forum accounts to be great collateral, and that's what it mostly is, forum accounts. It's just too easy to scam with btc if you have no moral compass, there are just too many sociopaths to consider lending safe or without risk. Never saw about the way can offer big profit without standard risk from this way, but become bitcoin giveaway it's a way come near to this statement. for lending I not sure about it. in lending is not a good place, and the collateral just using the forum accounts? but at this time we don't another way for this because this just on the internet and difficult do give a various collateral. |

You can start trading with those altcoins that are pretty stable on the market and then exploring for the new altcoins (which at the moment are in the ICO phase), the earlier you invest there the higher can be the profit selling them after the ico, but this does not happen always as there are lots of scams.
Altcoins are pretty comfortable indeed for people who dont know trading very well,and so they dont have big deposit. With small amount's trading altcoins may be amusing,but i would say it is only for getting learned,you wont get any profit out of it. What are you say? I doubt about altcoins are pretty comfortable for newbies. but here you can ask a lot of people about altcoins. it's not comfortable and only relies on luck. ok, you will feel fine if your alt coins are getting a higher value but if otherwise from that. |
