7841  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the factor of downfall of bitcoin? on: February 08, 2018, 02:23:35 PM
There are multiple reasons for the failure in the crypto market. People return from holidays and they usually buyout money for gifts, vacation and what not. This was followed by ban of bitcoin in some countries followed by ban in cryptocurrency exchanges, raids, taxation and a lot of other things. Things like this usually creates a panic among a section of investors leading to selling of a large number of coins or holding back for a moment with no transactions to show. The reduction in number of trasactions as well as selling of coins in large number usually leads to the fall tha we are seeing but worry not my friend, it will go up agian in a few months. Just hold on!
7842  Economy / Economics / Re: Bankers are killing the cryptocurrency market on: January 31, 2018, 07:01:42 AM
Well it was bound to happen today or tomorrow! The elite rich group don't want to give power to others and distribute powers to the commoners! They want everything to themselves and for obvious reasons would do everything in their power to stop the powers that may take away their wealth. Eventually I am sure they will use the blockchain technology and their own powerful mainstream media to deviate people from the actual areas to where they want people to be! Thus retaining their wealth and power Smiley I am sorry but this is how it is going to be for the remaining days of this planet Tongue Tongue
7843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to your Bitcoin when you Die? on: January 25, 2018, 05:54:57 AM
Well you can finally take your bitcoins with you. Just like you no one willl have access to bitcoin anymore because they would need a secure key to access the wallet! sans which it is impossible to access any bitcoin as bitcoin is decentralized and that makes it so good! Tongue So be sure to at least trasfer the key so that the nominee can learn and get your bitcoins else Tongue those bitcoins will reside in heaven just like you would.

7844  Other / Politics & Society / Re: do you believe in your government? on: January 25, 2018, 05:47:22 AM
No truth is told by any government because if truth is told, the government will fall as others will take advantage of the messy situation by lying that they can make it better and worse people will believe them! People are in a state of matrix (the movie) where they want to believe they are happy and their lives have improved compared to the year before and the governments want to perpetuate this thinking, simply because there is no way they will want to lose power Tongue Tongue Tongue
7845  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe January 31 2018 is end of the world? on: January 25, 2018, 05:36:30 AM
This is funny! I think we should all come back to this post on 1st February, 2018 and update the date for the end of the world. Tongue Tongue This way we will be sure to have the correct date and their should be treasure of the date appointed to safeguard the date so that it can be changed. Then we will definitely have the correct date for the end of the world! The world is done anyway! There is nothing left in it to enjoy Tongue Tongue Tongue Rich are richer, poor are poor! Its time to reset Tongue Tongue  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
7846  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 25, 2018, 05:30:27 AM
Honestly, who are we to judge whether the millionaires deserve their wealth. If deserving is a question then I believe most of the huge corporations have become huge based on what they did in their colonies. Lets start with the railroads, power industries which was built on the blood and sweat of slaves and unpaid labors. In my country, the whole weaving industry was killed by the British and when people were hungry, The UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill decided against sending any food supplies to the countrymen. The same happened in South Africe and people are still segregated because of their race (not legally any more0 but the situation is pretty much same as the white people have all the money with them! So, I think bitcoin millionaires are one of the most deserving millionaires out there. They did not harm anyone, they are probably good investors or were plain lucky but did not plunge and loot whole continents to make their money Smiley
7847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: January 25, 2018, 05:24:53 AM
Well eventually if bitcoin is not adopted by a majority countries, it will end as like in Korea wherever it goes, it will become big and eventually the governments, banks will force the bitcoin exchanges to shut shop which may lead to mistrust in the coin leading to its eventual death or so to say! But the blockchain technology will still live on and will continue to prosper as banks are now finding out its utility and will incorporate it to increase their security systems to lure customers with huge amount of illegal money Tongue Smiley
7848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: January 18, 2018, 02:55:47 PM
Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?
Well nothing is greedy! Bitcoin anyway is a gamble just like stocks. You may hold it to gain the maximum or to lose to the minimum! But it is you who has to decide when you are greedy and when you are anticipating growth! There is a very thin line and it is very easy to cross them! So be careful, be hopeful and if you cash it out more than you invested dont feel bad if it increases nor feel happy if it decreases. If you do either you were greedy! if not you have just made a good return on your investment Smiley Smiley
7849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: January 18, 2018, 02:39:37 PM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
There may a number of reasons!!! There may come a new technology and all the supporters of bitcoin may move to that technology (Not talking about ether but the technology). The UN may pass a resolution to ban all cryptocurrencies with support from majority of countries!!! Eventually people may lose faith in the coin and miners may find some other coin more attractive. These things coupled with some disasters like bitcoin being hacked or controlled by some blockchain hack tech may lead to its demise! Smiley But all these things happening are pretty less. Till then enjoy your ride in the bitcoin ride Tongue
7850  Other / Off-topic / Re: What causes suicidal thoughts? on: January 18, 2018, 02:28:25 PM
Why do you think people have suicidal thoughts? Is it reasonable to result to potentially killing oneself to be able to remove the pain a person is suffering from? What are your thoughts about this matter, is it acceptable or not? Why does a person result to thinking of suicide? How can you help the person to change His/Her mind?
This is a tricky question as thoughts of suicide come to mind because of variety of reasons. It does not necessarily mean someone will follow through. Usually suicides happen because of a momentary feeling of a wall. It seems like you are stuck in a prison cell in a solitary confinement! Some people achieve peace and self awareness, but some people lose all hope! You cant convince a person to get out of the feeling, the person has to do it himself/herself. The only thing that you can do is to support the person and believe and hope! Smiley Smiley
7851  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Decrease Population on: January 16, 2018, 06:28:20 AM
Develop Artificial Intelligence. Eventually robots will realize that humans are the pest in the world! They will slowly capture all humans and harvest them for energy, meanwhile keeping them in a dream state where they will believe they are still relevant and in control (aka matrix style Tongue )> Slowly machines will kill all humans that try to resist them thus reducing the population problem and other problems such as hunger, starvation, diseases will be eradicated too Tongue Wink
7852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: January 16, 2018, 06:24:53 AM
YEah of course you are a millionaire!!! Now its up to you whether you want to hold them or sell them. Consider it like stocks. You can either hold the stocks till they peak or sell them when they are giving you good enough profit! The choice is yours. Do not let anyone tell you what you should do! You can choose to do whatever you want. Smiley Smiley
7853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Opportunity on: January 15, 2018, 06:33:05 AM
Well!! Bitcoin may be a lost opportunity as it may not give the benefits like it used to give but then you should look around you. There is always the next billion dollar idea right around us and we chose to ignore it till it becomes so famous or so big that it is out of reach for us!! This is human tendency. Well the same logic applied to the IT industry in the early 80s and 90s when people were not so sure of Microsoft or Apple but look at them now!!! THe next idea is right there just keep yourself informed and be aware of your surrounding Smiley
7854  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin redistributes wealth or just makes the wealthy richer? on: January 11, 2018, 12:21:01 PM
Of course not!! Just like the early 50s and 60s, it creates a set of new wealthy people. This happened with the dotcom bubble where a new set of wealthy billionaires were created and eventually just like any other wealth generating system, it will be confined to a small set of people who will own 90% of the world's wealth. The world in general would always remain the same and would run the same way as it runs now!!! Smiley It is only a dream to not accept the reality of a flawed world. Smiley Smiley
7855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason behind sudden market crash.. on: January 11, 2018, 12:15:09 PM
It is the Korean market. A lot of people from China were investing using the Korean exchanges. I dont get it! Japan has it legal then what is Korea's problem? This probably shows that people are averse to change and they dont want power in people's hands! It is going to be this way for a couple of weeks as the shutdown of exchanges will be followed by people panic selling all over. This will continue till a new friendly country is found and the setup becomes stronger there. Till then I suppose we will watch the repeat of the China incident Smiley Smiley
7856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About Bitcoin Bad Rumors on: January 11, 2018, 06:15:54 AM
Yeah it seems that this is a trend. The old guards cannot seem to wrap their head around the capabilities of the new kid on the block! Even Warren Buffet has spoken against it as i nthe article below:

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/10/buffett-says-cyrptocurrencies-will-almost-certainly-end-badly.html

However, I feel that instead of trying to demonize bitcoin, which may or may not have a bad ending as Warren Buffet says, there is no denying the fact that the underlying blockchain technology is one of the greatest innovations of the 21st century and it will for sure lead us to a better future and more secure frameworks! This is how technology works anyway! It is never limited and any great technology will always find its rightful owner Smiley Smiley
7857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Zuckerberg is looking into cryptocurrency ::) ::) ::) on: January 10, 2018, 12:03:55 PM
This is actually huge news. It sounds like he is trying to use decentralization for Facebook. "Giving people the power", as he says. It's interesting to see what comes to light based on his dedication to researching encryption.

As far as cryptocurrency? Allowing Bitcoin to be used to pay for ads will be a game changer. A GAME CHANGER.

I'm anxious to see what comes of this.

And for reference, here's a link and quote to his personal mission statement for 2018, as found on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/zuck/posts/10104380170714571

Quote
Every year I take on a personal challenge to learn something new. I've visited every US state, run 365 miles, built an AI for my home, read 25 books, and learned Mandarin.

I started doing these challenges in 2009. That first year the economy was in a deep recession and Facebook was not yet profitable. We needed to get serious about making sure Facebook had a sustainable business model. It was a serious year, and I wore a tie every day as a reminder.

Today feels a lot like that first year. The world feels anxious and divided, and Facebook has a lot of work to do -- whether it's protecting our community from abuse and hate, defending against interference by nation states, or making sure that time spent on Facebook is time well spent.

My personal challenge for 2018 is to focus on fixing these important issues. We won't prevent all mistakes or abuse, but we currently make too many errors enforcing our policies and preventing misuse of our tools. If we're successful this year then we'll end 2018 on a much better trajectory.

This may not seem like a personal challenge on its face, but I think I'll learn more by focusing intensely on these issues than I would by doing something completely separate. These issues touch on questions of history, civics, political philosophy, media, government, and of course technology. I'm looking forward to bringing groups of experts together to discuss and help work through these topics.

For example, one of the most interesting questions in technology right now is about centralization vs decentralization. A lot of us got into technology because we believe it can be a decentralizing force that puts more power in people's hands. (The first four words of Facebook's mission have always been "give people the power".) Back in the 1990s and 2000s, most people believed technology would be a decentralizing force.

But today, many people have lost faith in that promise. With the rise of a small number of big tech companies — and governments using technology to watch their citizens — many people now believe technology only centralizes power rather than decentralizes it.

There are important counter-trends to this --like encryption and cryptocurrency -- that take power from centralized systems and put it back into people's hands. But they come with the risk of being harder to control. I'm interested to go deeper and study the positive and negative aspects of these technologies, and how best to use them in our services.

This will be a serious year of self-improvement and I'm looking forward to learning from working to fix our issues together.

Honestly, this seems a little too perfect a response. May be I am thinking too much but probably he is preparing himself for the Presidential candidacy Tongue Tongue But other than that it sounds cool! and its only true that once a technology is stable, you can try to find out its applications and make it better or use it for purposes that is unthinkable now! This is how technology advances. No body thought during the advent of web technology or desktops that they will be reduced to our hands. Someone discovers/invents a technology and then we have enough number of proficient people to work on it to improve its capabilities for the better (or worse!) of mankind  just like nuclear fission/fusion which can generate electricity for thousands of years or kill thousands of people with the little or no effort! Smiley Smiley Smiley
7858  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: January 10, 2018, 11:57:44 AM
Of course billionaires invest in bitcoin. Not just bitcoin, they probably invest and/or back other alternate cryptocurrencies as well. This is a lucrative market if done right! Billionaires have money to diversify. These days no one puts all their eggs in one basket. So I will not be surprised, if billionaires invest in bitcoin. At present, it does seem like a wise decision! Billionaires are billionaires because they keep on generating money from their existing pile and not spending more than they should!!! Those days are long gone now!
7859  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: January 04, 2018, 06:45:24 AM
This is a hypothetical question! I dont think this will ever happen because in a small class of 40 people we were not able to form a single uniform opinion then how can we expect 6 billion of the same to do the same! There will always be difference of opinion based on numerous reasons ranging from ancient heritage to proud of their national currency! Hence, it sounds ideal but it will never happen. Also, the exchanges employ a lot of people they will go out of work so we need the exchanges to employ people.
7860  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will you do with your Bitcoin in 2018? Will it become more valuable? on: January 04, 2018, 06:40:14 AM
Well bitcoin prices should stabilize for some time as it has definitely scared a lot of people as it was on news a lot! But eventually I think it will start rising again just like in 2017 and end on  strong holiday note at the end of the year. This should continue for another couple of years before it is either too powerful to kill or too firnedly to ignore! Either way it is going to stabilize eventually by 2020 or 2021 and then it will be opportunity for someone else to rise to the occasion to eventually replace bitcoin in the future Tongue
