Based on the location info he's only 10m away from me but we're in different counties so I wouldn't be called regardless. Ironically I did get called to one from my county just last week!

It is federal court, the district is half* the size of Texas so you might get to "attend".

Ok so not half but maybe a quarter.

Whoa, wasn't aware there was a difference, lol. Anyways, I never get lucky... I've been called to jury duty 5x so far... all 5x I got sent home... always depresses me... if I'm stuck there for 6+ hours they could at least let it be for something, =S.
7882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: July 25, 2013, 02:41:56 PM
Maybe expand the Devcoin ecosystem. A couple of suggestions, not well thought out and some obvious flaws:

Allow anyone with DVC to issue bounties.
Offer subsidies on items or services priced in DVC and relevant to development projects.

Something else worth considering, Devcoin may fall outside regulatory definitions for currencies in places where Bitcoin's feeling regulatory pressure. In that case fiat donations to a system that promotes open source development could be a more open route to the Bitcoin ecosystem. Risky but I think its plausible.

I can’t see why anyone or group with dvc can’t already offer bounties. In fact that seems like a pretty straightforward solution or process for those with ideas or frustrations with particular aspects but without the technical expertise to do it themselves.

Ranlo – I know what you’re referring to. The problem with that perspective in isolation is (1) The price had already been falling for some time (whether just in trend with other cryptos, or dvc specific) (2) that the seller(s) sold into a wall is perhaps better than if they had just sold right down the orderbook. Those with dvc have the right to sell them, even if it’s just to buy them back cheaper via trying to provoke a capitulation, so rather than appealing to justness perhaps it’s better to simply ask why there has been more selling pressure than buying.

Wiser - that's fine, but then people (not referring to anybody in particular, including you) shouldn't complain about the price, lack of incentive to initiate or develop upon other projects at that price, or any resulting dearth of bid interest.

Why there hasn't been more buying pressure is an easy one to answer: there is no true value to DVC outside of converting it to BTC. At least as of now.

A market, while it would help with some of this, would lead to the same general issue: if I want to sell something for $100 each... I have to get the money somewhere. So I sell for DVC, then sell the DVC to get money so I can get more items to sell.

A game would be different, in that you don't necessarily need to keep converting to fiat to keep the ball rolling. For example, take Facebook's credits (or any F2P game for that matter). There are millions of dollars being poured into the fake currencies to be used in the game. This is what we really need -- something that gives the DVC true value without requiring us to keep cycling it straight back to fiat just to sustain the process.

Month old noobs do not make announcements, start funds or any of the rest of the jazz. See here and stfu.
Hi Mircea,

Been waiting for that one! Even if this was the bible of starting a Bitcoin business, would you care to elaborate in detail what is wrong with our approach?

I'm not Mircea numbnuts, and you're not on a first name basis with MP fo sho.

Other than that the following is wrong with your approach: you're stupid and unqualified. So stupid and unqualified in fact as to be utterly unable to even notice that you are stupid. And unqualified.

[PS. I wish idiot noobs dropped this "we" convention they keep pulling out of their ass every time they feel insecure of their footing. There's no "we" in "stupid" and there's no "our" in idiot. There's just tissues and torrents, in both.

Holy crap... I have to say you get +1 intarneckz from me. You made me laugh, feel a little bad for Smidge, and then laugh again. Doesn't happen often so you're definitely awesome.

(No offense to Smidge... I loved his/her reply regardless of who it was directed at. On that note, I copied it into a text file for further enjoyment in the future)

I don't think it's funny at all... There are ways and ways of saying things and IMO seniority doesn't give anyone the right to insult and talk down to someone like that. MPOE-PR might know a lot but still I think he is just full of himself.

Meh, to each his own I guess. For what it's worth, I'd feel the same way even if MP's post was directed at me.

Also looks like Mr. Moustakis asked the Eastern Texas courts for the right to appear "Pro Hac Vice".  Simple version Pro Hac Vice is a request for an attorney to practice in a specific case outside of their jurasdiction.  Rather than have the plantiff (SEC) be represented by a TX based attorney they petition the courts to allow Mr. M (who has license to practice law in NY) the right to appear in the TX court.  It would appear the request has been granted.

People in this forum living in Eastern Texas who did not "invest" with Pirate, go register for jury duty, you might get lucky and be assigned to this case, that's a courtroom session I'd pay to watch...

Uhm, you don't "register for jury duty." As a person aged 18 or older you're automatically enrolled without a choice in the matter.

Based on the location info he's only 10m away from me but we're in different counties so I wouldn't be called regardless. Ironically I did get called to one from my county just last week!

Yes..  Sorry..  It is 0.05666 BTC per day..    You think I should be doing better?   As I stated I was making almost this much per day mining LTC so was expecting a little more here..  But its still early and OP looks to be making changes..  So I am hoping it will pick up..

But I have Not got the 30%+ increase some have said they are getting..

In CGMiner a steady 1290..

In middle Coin anywhere from 999 to 1500   Undecided

You think I should be doing better then 0.05666 Per day?   I was hoping for like 0.06555 to 0.070000 per day..

Ohhh, in your last post you fixed it to 0.566 (or over half a BTC a day)... was just curious.

I am at around 0.10 a day or so off 3k... so I think you're doing better than me. But I was only getting like 2.4 LTC a day (which would be about 0.07 BTC) off the same speed.

Yea Agree..  You should be gettimg more then that I think..  Are you in Europe?  I am in the US

US here but I get a 3-5% stale rate off that rig... I'm sure that's part of the issue.

I get a 11% stale rate (as of right now) off my local one that's also in the US...

Ugggggg  Sorry..  Forgot the zero..  0.5666666

Original post edited..  Thanks for that catch..

I WISH 5.6 a day..   LOL

So far after 3 days on pool I am Avg 5.6 BTC a day..   That is just slightly better then when I was mining just LTC..  Hopefully this will improve as I know there have been issues you have been working on..

Will report back after 7 days what my Avg is..

Thanks and keep making it better please.  Smiley

Huh? How do you have that high of an average? Assuming 5.6 a day for 3 days is 16.8 BTC. The highest earner is this guy:

    0.88329834    0.68970179    1.26293317    3.97552368

With only 7 BTC...

Ohh, lol. What's your hashrate?

7895  Economy / Services / Re: selling cheap VPS for BTC or Paypal - Unlimited Bandwidth Virtual Private server on: July 25, 2013, 12:51:26 PM
How can you offer these so ridiculously cheap? Are they more for the things you mentioned (like spamming and such) and therefore oversold?

I'm looking for a stable 99.99% uptime VPS at a decent price but... usually when you get involved with sites this cheap it's because you can't truly rely on them.
7896  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [5500+ BTC] on: July 25, 2013, 12:48:01 PM
well, you are wrong. I also know javascript very well, a bit of ruby and python. the point is, make something that everyone can contribute. Not to mention, that theymos want to modify the software also, himself, and he is confortable with php, java, etc, so PHP would be a good fit. Besides, this won't be a complex app dude, is just a forum! no need for admin clicky clicky interface.

My proposal for the app, is to make something cool, that will help the community, not to start comp languages flame wars. Are you willing to contribute?

I'm 100% with you. Through my years of learning... I've come up with one thing that's proven pretty steady: most languages are going to have similar results if you know how to use them properly. People often put down one language as being "worse" because they don't understand the proper usage of it and so for them it is worse.

I hate the JS vs PHP vs (insert whatever you want here) debates. Use what you know and you're going to do a much better job.

The server is in Oregon. I probably should have chose somewhere more central Sad

You meant Washington, DC, I'm assuming.

State... DC would be DC, :p.
