7882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone [JAN 2020] Discussion on: January 19, 2020, 06:03:08 AM
Too easy fight for Conor, Lol, Cerrone has no answer, that left is still there. I think Conor redeemed himself here, from his attitude prior to the fight, (not disrespectful) and how he ended this one. Maybe Cowboy didn't expect Conor to be aggressive right after the bat.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-sv/markets/

You just have to look at the numbers and say that it is really artificial. Everyone should already remember that 51% of its computing power is controlled by a single entity, very shady indeed. I know that the sudden pump is really crazy, maybe some bagholders are very happy with it. But for those who are going to join, please stop, you will be trap because everything here is fake.
7885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: January 18, 2020, 10:10:22 AM
Find out recently, that Fury had changed his coach. As I understood, he expects, that new coach will teach him how to KO Wilder (as he said, he could have done it in first fight, but don't have enough strength to do it)

And this is what Fury says,

Quote
"If I Don't Knock Wilder Out, It Doesn't Count!"

“I’m really eliminating all of the outside distractions this time. I eat, sleep, train and repeat. I’m eating five-to-six meals a day. I’m drinking many liters of water a day. I don’t really do anything else. I don’t go out. I don’t see people. I don’t speak to anyone on the phone. I don’t do emails. I don’t search Google,” said Fury.

“This is the first training camp in 10 years that I haven’t had a Diet Coke. This is the first training camp where I’m literally going to bed early every night at 9:30 p.m. I wake up every morning at 7 a.m. fresh as a daisy. I literally live in training camp like a Spartan and Trojan warrior, and that’s it. I don’t really know if any of that even matters on the night. It didn’t matter before. But if it’s willing to give me an edge on the night of the fight, than I’m willing to try it. Why not? What will happen on Feb. 22 is all in the hands of the gods.

https://www.boxingscene.com/tyson-fury-if-i-knock-wilder-out-it-count--145980

So let's see if he can do it he is more focus on this fight than ever. I doubt it though, but who knows, when the knock out presented itself, I'm sure Fury (or any other boxers) will go for it.
7886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we now confirm that he's Faketoshi.? on: January 18, 2020, 09:47:29 AM
Of course he doesn't have the keys, lol, we already know that. He has been claiming that he is Satoshi even prior to the case and I'm sure if the court proves that he is not Satoshi, he will continue his assertion of the truth. And that what a pathological liar like Craig is, even if we have all the evidences plaster around his face, in his mind, he is Satoshi.
7887  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cryptsy class action against Counbase on: January 18, 2020, 01:22:59 AM
I recently got an email about a class action lawsuit against Coinbase to recover Cryptsy coins that were held on Coinbase.

Does anyone know if this is legitimate or is this a scam?

I open up a thread here: Coinbase Settles Cryptsy Class-Action Lawsuit For $1 Million. To save you time I will post the official court documents below:

7888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here dream of achieving their financial goal in life through gambling? on: January 17, 2020, 05:43:33 PM
For people who does not have enough income to live a comfortable life, we try to find ways to end the struggle, we take big risk to gain big rewards so if we will be successful, we don't need to work anymore and just enjoy the rest of our life doing the things that we can't do due to lack of money.

are you one of the people who dream like this?

Good question. I think majority of people who are into gambling are thinking that it will be the final solution to their financial problems. Just imagine if you win a lot of money thru gambling and all your problems are forgotten. But if you will just rely on it, gambling is not the answer. On the contrary, if you keep on gambling and chasing that elusive dream, you might get addicted to it. And inside of a change life for the better, you might end up in the worst situation of your life.
7889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 17, 2020, 05:11:09 PM
I thought that Conor is talking about facing Floyd again? How come Manny's name pops out?

This is just to hype Conor's next fight with Cerrone, I don't think that Manny will bite on this one. If I'm not mistaken, he already publicly states that he doesn't want to see this kind of 'exhibition' fight. So I believed that this fight won't push thru.

I hope you guys remember him from last year, CSW sued him for defamation, because the 'cat' called him a scammer, damaging his supposedly reputation. Then he put up a bounty of $5k to reveal the person behind the persona. And as per his tweet, the court dismissed the case because of lack of jurisdiction, they are going to Norway, but I think the result will be the same. So it looks like CSW is losing all his battle in the frontline.  Grin

7892  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TO 5K$ soon on: January 17, 2020, 12:49:59 PM
The price has gone low to $3400 during the previous year same month. Further the growth started to increase slowly from the second quarter of the year. This year the growth has already started, based on which I believe the price won't fall low to $5000 by this month. Mostly the price can reach $5000 after the days of halving.
It looks bullish trend now are more stronger this year, today we already touched $9000 while price is down a bit but it will surely touched again.

What next for btc? we don't know but as this continues to be bullish, next target will be $10,000.

This article is interesting an scary.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-price-could-rally-to-9k-before-a-massive-collapse-heres-why

I was out the whole day, just came back night time here and was surprised to see the price picking up again and inching closer to $9k, how many weeks do we have that we are in the positive? I think this is very similar around February last year where we posted like 10 weeks in a row and then pushing the price to $13k around June. But we all know what happens next. Are we in the same trend now? Hard to predict, just because halving will be in May of this year.
7893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Cement its Position as a Hedging Instrument in the Midst of Economic on: January 17, 2020, 11:45:02 AM
Is bitcoin really being used to hedge against geo-political/economic woes? It has been speculated, but so far we can't really say if it being taken advantage of. The only use case we have seen so far is Venezuela or to an extend the Zimbabwe crisis but there are still a lot of lingering questions.

I guess if I'm a wealthy person and wanted to hedge all my assets, I will still go with Gold and other investment instruments. It's not that bitcoin is no good, but we all know that it is very volatile and smart investors doesn't like that, just saying.
7894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we overcome our gambling addiction! on: January 16, 2020, 07:33:18 PM
There's a story that my mom told me, it's about my uncle who once became a gambling addict that there comes a time where he sold most of their things in their house just to find money to gamble. The worst thing that my uncle did is to pledge their house just to satisfy his gambling pleasures.

I think we have heard similar story before.

I know it's not easy to overcome this situation especially when you're already in your point that you want to get back everything that you have lost. You keep on gambling thinking you can earn everything back. Actually, we're already lucky enough if we continuously win the game but even our luck has its own limitations. Without noticing it, our wins are slowly turning into losses.

It's really hard specially if the person is not acknowledging his gambling addiction until it's too late. He is knee deep and can't get out by himself. That's why I believed that family needs to support them to snap out of his bad habits.

I also know that some of us here will just put their attention on different things to avoid too much gambling. But in reality, it's just easy to say but harder to do. There's no easy way if you really got attached to gambling. But in your opinion or personal experiences, how do you overcome your addiction to gambling?

I overcome it when I lost my job, obviously, I don't have the means to continue to gamble and then I realised that I was becoming a statistics. So once I got up and recover, I never look back, I just play occasionally and just bring money that I can afford to lose and have some fun.
7895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain the most desirable skill of 2020 according to LinkedIn on: January 16, 2020, 06:53:33 PM
This surprises me. The only stuff that makes money in 'blockchain' are exchanges and conning VC investors into throwing money at any old shite. I would've expected it to have gone quiet for now at least.

If IT burns through qualifications at a furious pace then 'blockchain' has only just gotten started. What'll be put into actual use in a few years will likely bear zero resemblance to what they're playing with now.

The only area of 'blockchain' I'd be specialising in at present is bankruptcies.

You are right to doubt this report, I feel like it might be quite misleading, like why they say that it's the most popular skill of 2020 and compare it with 2019 if this year only just started? Maybe what they see is some short-term spike on popularity, perhaps caused by the recent pump across the crypto market, and this hype will disappear quite soon.

Yeah, very misleading to say the least. If I'm not mistaken, the same set of skills are supposedly hot in 2019, lol. Obviously, crypto market is still as hype as we all know that's why LinkedIn still consider knowledge in "blockchain" are still on top this 2020. Demand is spiking as companies are testing this new technology and probably going to replace their legacy systems with blockchain based.
7896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Data Shows Why Bitcoin SV’s 163% Rally in a Week Won’t Last on: January 16, 2020, 06:03:49 PM
Whole Market is manipulated including bitcoin.

It's hard to manipulate bitcoin per se at its market is really huge as compare to BSV or any another altcoin for that matter. That's why there are bitcoin maximalist telling us that "pump" is not in their vocabulary,  Grin. Is the data relevant? definitely, it just really shows that this sudden and massive pump of Bitcoin SV is not natural and sure, someone is going to get benefit from this. Right now the price is above $300 and is chasing BCH. But nothing will change though, BSV is just another creation by faketoshi and it will consider as another altcoin that can be manipulated anytime.
7897  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitwise decided to withdraw its Bitcoin ETF application on: January 16, 2020, 02:28:31 PM

Re:

Withdrawal of Registration Statement on Form S-1

Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust (File No. 333-229180)

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Pursuant to Rule 477 of the Securities Act of 1933 (the “Act”), Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust (the “Registrant”) respectfully requests the withdrawal of the Registrant’s registration statement on Form S-1 (Reg. No. 333-229180) (the “Registration Statement”). The Registration Statement was initially filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the “Commission”) on January 10, 2019. The Registrant understands that, pursuant to Rule 477(b) of the Act, this application for withdrawal will be deemed granted at the time filed with the Commission unless, within 15 calendar days after the filing, the Commission notifies the Registrant that the application for withdrawal has not been granted.

At this time, the Registrant has determined not to pursue the registration and sale of the securities covered by the Registration Statement. The Registrant believes that this withdrawal request is consistent with the public interest and protection of investors as required by Rule 477(a) of the Act and represents, in accordance with Rule 477(c) of the Act, that there has been no issuance, distribution or sale of the securities under the Registration Statement.

https://sec.report/Document/0001493152-20-000557/

So it seems that Bitwise also withdraw their application to SEC for a Bitcoin ETF. Perhaps they know that it has a slim chance to be approved, as the market is really 'prone to manipulation', just saying.
7898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: January 16, 2020, 01:28:14 PM
And for those who have doubts about the awkward statement made my Anthony Joshua, I dig youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDc9JPrzvs4

Go forward 0:40, and you will hear it straight from Joshua's mouth.

Here is Fury's response though,

Quote

Tyson Fury Holds Nose at Joshua's Win, Rips Apart Sparring Offer

"They offered hot air as usual. I accepted, they haven’t turned up, take what you want from it, that’s it. Joshua’s nothing like Wilder but I’d like to bring him over and give him a good hiding anyway. But they’re not going to come, let’s face it," Fury told BoxingScene.com.

"They’re not going to come over and get beat up in sparring. It was just a stupid offer at a stupid time - wasn’t thinking, I accepted straight away, me being me, and that was it. I don’t read into it too much, he ain’t coming, simple as. He ain’t got the bollocks to turn up and spar, end of."

https://www.boxingscene.com/tyson-fury-holds-nose-joshuas-win-rips-apart-sparring-offer--145960

Clearly, he doesn't like the idea, and I like him saying that he is going to beat up Joshua in the sparring. They might cross path in the future, so it's better for them not to really spar as no one will really get the benefits of it. The rematch is just about a month from now, and as we gets closer, I'm sure a lot of media are going to cover and it will make the fight more exciting with trash talking.
7899  Bitcoin / Legal / Coinbase Settles Cryptsy Class-Action Lawsuit For $1 Million on: January 16, 2020, 12:42:24 PM

[2] https://www.scribd.com/document/442765414/Proposed-Settlement-Leidel-v-Coinbase-Cryptsy

So after three years, Coinbase has finally settled for about $1 million for its role, - money laundering of the Cryptsy hack funds.

https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2020/01/coinbase-settles-cryptsy-class-action-lawsuit-for-1-million/

Quote
Plaintiffs in the case previously filed charges against Cryptsy founder Paul Vernon over alleged negligence and violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act after facing withdrawal issues related to the exchange’s hack, which saw approximately 10,000 BTC stolen from clients. Coinbase was later accused for being involved in laundering $8.2 million in funds and abetting in the exchange theft.

Coinbase’s previous attempt for dismissal of the suit and settlement through arbitration was denied by the court, and the three-year-long case was nearing a jury trial.
