7941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Woman Arrested for $450,000 Crypto Heist on: November 12, 2018, 10:47:45 AM
~ snip ~
The victim might already known to each other, but its hard to catch such type of scammers. Never trust anyone in these days as money is important to them than people life.

Exactly, so obviously the man has been targeted by the criminals for quite some time and slowly building his case until the man let down his guard because the women already got his trust. And its really hard to catch these type of person/s, maybe she was just tempted or something because of the huge amount involved. Although its a happy ending, but the man has to endured it and has to go to trial in order to get it back, that is if the woman has still the bulk of the money but I doubt it.
7942  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Minor Crypto Exchange Pulls Off Exit Scam, Steals All User Funds on: November 12, 2018, 09:36:05 AM

What is the motive behind all these minor exchanges, anyway?

Of course they're motivated because its 'easy money' for them. Imagine those criminals thinking that they don't have to work for the rest of their natural life because of the huge money they scam from traders and investors. Shocking, but that's the truth behind the minds of those criminals and its sad at the same time because this kind of news will be put off against crypto by those governments or banks around the world who's hostile and anti-crypto. Another argument that they can throw at us if they wanted to attack again. Moral lesson is not to store huge funds in an exchange, or better stay off from trading platform who don't have reputation to begin with.

7944  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Chinese court recognized BC as private property on: November 12, 2018, 08:49:13 AM
It has been clarified for a long time now that Bitcoin is by no means illegal in China, there are even a lot of cryptocurrency centered companies originating from China like Bitmain, Huobit, and OKex. The only thing messing up the truth is the never ending fake sources of news for their country. These content creators are not tired of giving misleading news and fake ones in order to get money out of the traffic they are making. The only way to stop this is to have a smarter audience but the problem is a perfect scenario like that won't ever happen.

Exactly, media really made it bad by portraying bitcoin is totally ban in China where in fact what PBoC did was to clamp down on all crypto trading with a ban of foreign exchanges and ICO offerings. We can even says that trading is still alive in China by going full OTC or by just going to HongKong to continue their activity. But the damage has been done already, although their sphere of influence is still felt because they have total monopoly of mining. To the OP, regarding you question about Bitcoin's related private property, here is a good discussion thread: Are Bitcoin private property.
7945  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-09]Bitcoin is not the Leading Cryptocurrency Anymore on: November 12, 2018, 08:16:30 AM
This reports have been going in rounds in most crypto related websites for months now, I don't know what's up with coinidol publishing it again. You just have to go down and understand where the source of this news, it came from A Chinese government body, so obviously, they will immediately shot down the idea that Bitcoin is still the top dog in crytosphere. As for EOS and ETH, well, they're still having their own 'smart contract' war, and guess what? the winner of that war will still be Bitcoin for all we know.  Grin. They can duke it out whenever or whatever they want in terms of its security and scalability or transaction fees, but overtime, people will stay where the money is, that is in Bitcoin ecosystem and market.
7946  Economy / Economics / Re: Japan Approves Self-Regulation for Cryptocurrency Industry on: November 12, 2018, 02:20:09 AM
The OP is referring to this news like 3 weeks ago, Japanese Financial Services Authority Approves Self-Regulation for Crypto. We all know that Japanese culture is very different specially in terms of discipline. So I'm not surprised that local Japanese trading platforms has given the go signal to self-police themselves. Just look at how they re-acted to two most recent hacks, Crypto Exchange Zaif Reveals Customer Compensation Plan after $60 Million Hack and Coincheck Completes $430 Million Customer Refund. So you see they really have this discipline and they honour everything because of their culture. As compare to a recent Canadian exchange hack, MapleChange Supposedly Hacked, Owner Disappears (With Multiple Traces), LOL. I'm not really sure if we can witness this kind of stance on other so called pro-crypto countries though. It will be good if they follow self-regulatory, so let's see how it pans out in the future though.
7947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 12, 2018, 01:59:11 AM
It's sad to read all these news about Nadals injury, he's having lots of injuries issues lately, but yet he manages to come on top always I appreciate his never quit approach. I'm hoping he comes stronger, and fitter tennis just doesn't seem entertaining without him. I can't wait to see him come back against Djokovic and Fedderer those are some epic battles and makes you fall in love with tennis.

I guess Nadal's body is really taking a lot of beatings specially about his knee. We all know that this body part is one of the most abused for sports player so maybe it really gives out, but the timing is so bad. I'm sure that if the knee heals very quick, he will go back to his tennis and compete with those guys. Yes, seems strange not to see him specially in big tennis competition so its going to be a pity and tennis fans will miss him play. So lets just hope that the knee operation and rehabilitation is successful so at least we can watch him for the next big event in 2019.
7948  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BEST TELEGRAM SIGNAL CHANNELS on: November 12, 2018, 01:30:06 AM
Nah, I still think that there's no such thing as "best telegram signal channels" out there. All of them seems to have one common theme, to scam newbies out of their precious and hard earn money. I mean why they need to offer their service if they themselves can rake quite a big money because they know or at least 90% can predict where the market is going? Common sense will tell you that those guys are very fraudulent so don't blindly trust them IMHO.
7949  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you using a password manager on: November 12, 2018, 01:02:41 AM
Not a fan as well of those third party password apps. I'm still as old school as you can get, I even used excel spreadsheet before and we had a discussions about it many times already (not recommended). So I just try to write down all my unique password in my notebook, and when its time to log-in, just pull all the data and I'm off to go.
7950  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Markets Fluctuate Wildly. Why Invest Then? on: November 12, 2018, 12:34:51 AM
I can see fluctuations in the market I think this is not the time for investment... Is my opinion is right Or wrong

As far as bitcoin market is concern, I haven't seen fluctuations in recent months, it been quite stable. However, you have to understand that the market is based on speculation, so you will definitely see wild fluctuations from time to time. As others have said, high volatility is a friend of every traders, why? Because its a chance that anyone is waiting for, to jump in while the price is down and then wait for the next bull run to happen. Regarding if this is the right time to investment, honestly, well we have seen the price bottom at $5800-$5900, and at the current price, we're not far from the last bottom so definitely this is still a good buying point.
7951  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-08] Behind Bars: the Arrest of India’s First Bitcoin ‘ATM’ Operators on: November 09, 2018, 08:04:34 PM
It seems that the Indian government has begun to treat crypto with a tough attitude. Of course, perhaps they arrest Bitcoin ‘ATM’ Operators not because of bitcoin, but because private ATM business may be banned in India.
In many countries, ATM machines cannot be operated by individuals.

As much as we wanted to believed that this is the case, still there's no doubt in our minds that the arrest was due to the fact that they have been tightening their anti-bitcoin/crypto stance. This is just another guise but it makes sense if you see how India in the last 6 months has slowly showing their colors as to how they're going to take this new 'revolution'. If I'm not mistaken, India's 'demonetization' last year was to reduce the money flowing to the underground or black market, and they even hinted moving to digitized money. However, with this kind of move, it seems that they are moving backwards again. While majority of their neighbors sees bitcoin on a positive light, they seems to be taking a different approach.
7952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTOGLYPHS – A new way of imagining The Bitcoin Blockchain on: November 09, 2018, 01:56:06 PM
Indeed, this is one piece of amazing art. I think you really capture everything and its "interesting visually". For sure you can call this your "labor of love",  Grin. I checked your gallery and it seems there's a bunch of interesting work of art as well pertaining not only to bitcoin but litecoin as well.
7953  Economy / Speculation / Re: buying on: November 09, 2018, 11:13:03 AM
i want to buy Bitcoin. is this the best time to buy it or not?

What's your intention though, You wanted to be a long term hodler? I ask this question because if you wanted to stay long in this market then obviously at the current price, its definitely a steal. But being a long term hodler will take a on of your mentality though. There will be a long challenges, specially when you see your investment going up (or going down for that matter.) @figmentofmyass explains if you're looking at it as a short term investment. So its your choice. There's no magic formula here and it really depends on your goal.
7954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To all newbie who wants to increase their rank should follow a guy like Him on: November 09, 2018, 10:17:28 AM

Exactly, and just like in the previous thread wherein I gave this guy as an example on how someone can really contribute to the community, specially in 'uplifting the image of Filipinos' here. Mind you, I have some conversation with him privately, specially spambies and merit abusers.

As for the OP, its hard to copy what he has started, but I guess you have a idea how to post quality and add value to the community. Goodluck.

7956  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Wallets stuck on sync on: November 09, 2018, 09:01:59 AM
So I bought some Bitcoins from CoinCorner with a purchase in mind. I sent £50 each in BTC to an Electrum wallet and a Bitcoin Core, on Linux, on a decent machine. Both wallets are now synchronising endlessly. The Bitcoin Core one is telling me that it will take 12 days. That sometimes increases to six weeks. I've googled and it seems that a lot of folk are reporting insane sync times... When can I expect to see my money?  Angry

As far as Electrum goes, its a lightweight wallet, meaning it won't take that long for it to synchronized as you don't need download the current Bitcoin blockchain size. As for Bitcoin core, its different though, there is a way called pruning. wherein it will allows one to run a smaller version of full blockchain. For technical questions for Electrum, you can go visit this board: Electrum. For Bitcoin Core, you can post your questions here, Development & Technical Discussion. @bL4nkcode, have said, don't worry about your money, you just need to wait until it goes full sync.
7957  Economy / Reputation / Re: Caution! User Singertime637 has changed both email and password on: November 09, 2018, 08:17:23 AM
It looks like he put his account as collateral to a loan here: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030169.msg47605420#msg47605420), so that's why the change in both password and email. Anyways, thanks for the fair warning though.
7958  Other / Meta / Re: „Self made” Full member thanks to Theymos? Not exactly, but in a sense… on: November 09, 2018, 08:07:51 AM
Once again, it has been proved that merit is not a barrier to rank up. Just people have to act as usual people should.
Congrats OP. Keep up the good work. You deserve to be there.

Exactly, so we really don't understand newbies bitching around saying its hard to earn the 1 precious merit. We have seen a lot of 'self-made' members here so it only shows that it can be done and we all have the statistics to back it up. And for those newbies, don't lose hope, its not a race but a journey, unless you're a bounty whore and are just here in the community to make money, then it will be really a long, long road for you. Grin
7959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: November 09, 2018, 07:48:45 AM
I have read the long post of Floyd Mayweather in his Instagram account and he is making it appear that he agreed to fight the 20 year old kick boxer in the condition to fight only in an exclusive crowd (few and wealthy ones) and the fight will not be televised in other words its suppose to be a secret fight so if anything happens, the fight will not be counted against his untarnished record.

Exactly,, wealthy and few who are willing to pay huge money to watch the two slug it out. And even used the words 'conned' and he was 'blindsided' by the organizers about the proposed bout with this kid. So yeah, just as what I expected, the fight won't push through after all. But I guess not all of us has been fooled by the supposed fight because we all know that its just another circus act pulled by Floyd here.
7960  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinRain.io - Live Transaction Rate Visualisation on: November 09, 2018, 06:28:25 AM
Cool website. Maybe its better though to move your website to a SSL.  Smiley. And yes, its literally raining and its fun to watch. Just noticed that the 'bi' is somewhat separated from 'tcoinrain' Is that how you design it?
