7981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blowing the lid off the CryptoNote/Bytecoin scam (with the exception of Monero) on: May 11, 2018, 01:56:00 AM
you can suspect a lot of those volume (which BTW is lower than Monero's one) can be fake and the market cap can be easily manipulated.

There are many exchanges with fake volume, asamof some of the largest.
7982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 10, 2018, 11:34:48 PM
Ref: Prediction, I hope you're right, as I am a die hard supporter.  I just feel we might have some pain coming, but August will be when it all kicks off again.  Monero has its cycles and I have faith.

Ref: Polo - yep, the discount for the 30,000,000 USD a month players is 'optimistic' when their volume is pitiful compared to what it was.  It use to trade huge amounts of BTC - ALTS, and was pretty much at the top for a while, now it's slid way down the list.  Shame, I have a soft spot for it and its role in Monero's success. But in crypto things move fast and those that don't adapt, will fade and die.

Damn, just took a look and it's just ugly right now, but I think it's whale feeding time and all the little guppies are emptying their pockets. Smiley.
7983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: May 10, 2018, 02:36:58 PM
Just noticed they created another 130 million. Lol this shit keeps getting funnier the closer it gets to D-day. Smiley

Whats going to be even funnier is when all the fools are crying they had no idea it was coming. Smiley

https://www.omniexplorer.info/address/1NTMakcgVwQpMdGxRQnFKyb3G1FAJysSfz

I don't have any experience with tether but if they created 130m by that day then they created $310m more in the past few days.
From the coinmarketcap charts there is a high directly increase of market cap in the past 30 days then today there is a huge drop, does this mean they are creating new coins out of nothing?
From the reply you made I said that USDT is being considered like crypto USD but that doesn't mean it is 100% safe.

Tether is supposed to be a placeholder for Backed USD, IOW it is supposed to just be a means to trade v/s USD without using portals but in order for that to be true it must be 100% backed and they refuse to be audeted and fired the last place that was supposed to audit them. There is 400 million that was seized in a bank in Poland and it is widely believed to be from Tether which Tether/Bitfinex deny.

Until they open their books and prove they can back all these tokens they create and remove the disclaimer that they are not responsible for redeeming tether tokens (Thats right they have that on their site!!!) then they should be considered as running a fractional reserve on a illiquid asset. If all those tokens start getting sold (think of a bank run) then tether will crash and burn and the Bitfinex crew will cut and run with the fractional reserve, you can bet your last dollar on that.
7984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 10, 2018, 04:47:56 AM
I'm worried when I hear monero prosecuted for being linked by illegal acts and now I doubt whether to keep hold of it or take it off?

Yeah I know right! I doubt it will make bail. Gonna get a life sentence too!
7985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE on: May 10, 2018, 03:06:40 AM
XVG has a high ranking. It looks like a really good project. I am looking for an opportunity to invest and support this project as soon as possible.

High ranking by who? Do some research before investing in this shadyness.

And he's in a thread pointing out it's code is shit! Some people deserve to lose it all.
7986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2018, 01:08:26 AM
My grandma is 93 years old, and she was asking me about Bitcorn the other day. That was a bit surprising.

Do the hard sell. Cheesy
7987  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 10, 2018, 01:06:38 AM
Just some interesting things I am looking at today.

Have not tried this but it might be something to look into.

Basing current BTC futures on historical data is a mistake, futures Markets and institutional investment has changed the trajectory to the point all that data is irrelevant. If I had the capitol I would be using that data as traps so i'd assume they are.

Any update on the XMR payment processor project? they been about a good few months now.

Was there any more take up? How is the business progressing?

Did they sell a lot of rock t shirts?

Good question, Left that up long enough.
7990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 09, 2018, 11:26:33 PM
I try not to do predictions - been wrong to many times before. But...

I might as well try a prediction. I am bored, so I will polish my crystal ball and give it a go.

I hate to say this, but it's not whether .024 holds, it's whether .02 will be breached.  Got a feeling it'll be a grim summer.

Whatever we drop to over this summer (July might be brutal) will be at least doubled by the end of August.  The snap up will be huge and fast.

I am hoping to see $500 or 0.05 region prices by end of August and a place firmly in the top ten CMC.  TA pulled out of my ass, so YMMV - but it's not entirely guesswork.  Historic patterns suggest hodl tight, save some powder for the summer dip and be ready to buy if / when there are trolls galore and it looks grim.

Tis not out of the realm of possibilities but unlikely IMHO. AFA Polo, I looked at it's volume a few weeks ago and was totally floored at how low it had become.

Monero (XMR)support added to Dubai cryptocurrency exchange BitOasis
It was announced earlier in the day from UAE-based cryptocurrency exchange BitOasis that the company now has added support for Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC) on the BitOasis digital asset trading exchange. The two tokens have been added to meet increased demand from the customer base in the GCC.

Well that just offset those Jap exchanges. Smiley

So I can but $1350USDper week without KYC?

11) How can I buy more than 5000 AED/week (1350 USD/week) in bitcoin on BitOasis?

In order to be able to buy higher amounts of bitcoin you will need to verify your account on our platform by giving us a few extra information about yourself. You will find the ‘Increase Limits’ page on ‘Buy Bitcoin’ tab.

This is a bummer.

Quote
20) Can I sell bitcoin and withdraw my funds through BitOasis?

Sell bitcoin and withdraw payouts are currently available for our users in UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

but the devs need to get their GUI sorted ASAP otherwise I'm out too.

Not really helpful to post such an abstract statement. Would you mind describing your issues in more detail?

Meh, troll post not even in the correct thread. Good riddance I say.

MoneroV forkers forgot that the block reward calculation is cumulative

wait...Wat??? Lol, Vomero already looking foolish. thx for the link. Smiley

I would argue that including the pre mine in the recursive formula is actually correct. What is wrong is having a pre mine in the first place, but that is an entirely separate issue.

By the way MoneroV is still a Faustian contract or contract with the devil. This is because for a limited amount of time it can claim both Monero's adaptive blocksize for scaling and a maximum coin supply. When then finite coin supply runs out making the Fuastian contract due, then MoneroV is condemned to an eternity of 51% attacks.

Edit: I do have to give MoneroV credit for innovation, since a Faustian contract on a blockchain is actually very innovative.

Your reddit post is a hoot!

7991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blowing the lid off the CryptoNote/Bytecoin scam (with the exception of Monero) on: May 09, 2018, 05:35:48 PM
This is worth re-taking a look to after today's debacle... BCN got into Binance, went a few time 10x up in price then all exchanged oddly disabled deposits... People were buying from poloniex and sending to Binance but to no avail... There's tons of people complaining of losing money and myriads of stuck transactions.

Makes me wonder if this was in insider job. Was there yet another backdoor in bytecoin's code that would allow to halt the network? Was this the last avail of developers to dump their coins?

I've made a thread to discuss this new incident here.

Maybe the 82% premine? Ya think?
How much of that do you think they've been able to dump?

I lost alot of respect for Binance when they listed this scamcoin.

W0W, Nothing gets by these guys!

The U.S. Federal Reserve system has been very interested in bitcoin lately and has released a bunch of reports from Federal Reserve leaders and researchers from different offices. This past Monday, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and a professor from Stanford University published a paper that concludes that bitcoin-based futures markets affected the cryptocurrency’s price patterns since Cboe and CME launched the products.

No fucking shit Sherlock. And Gates can't find a place to short, he's just too chicken shit. Lol
7993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance CEO support ICOs on: May 09, 2018, 04:12:36 AM
Yeah he also listed Bytecoin on his exchange which is a well known 82% premined scam coin so yeah who cares what he says.

" I agree I would short it if there was an easy way to do it," Gates replied.

Well then let him put his money where his mouth is and short it. I have no clue why he says it's hard there is an entire fucking futures market, is he that stupid?

How can we protect ourselves from a crypto crash?

Convert out of crypto. Duh
7996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 09, 2018, 03:54:52 AM
Damn, everytime I think this bubble has been put in the rear view the market does this again. Well. at least I can still get it under $250 for now. Smiley
7997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 08, 2018, 03:27:18 AM
It looks like monero has a lot of competition from the zen coins such as zcash and zencash also you have coins such as masari trying to compete with monero.  Does this affect me as an investor?

I don't know, does that effect you as an investor?

And why would you ask yourself a question in an open forum, are you just talking to yourself out loud?

I know none of those coins are the real deal and therefor they have no impact on Monero so they certainly don't affect me.
7998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wall Observer BCH/USD - Bcash price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2018, 03:11:26 AM
So the "real" Bitcoin is a trusted centralized setup now?

You just can't make this shit up.

7999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 06, 2018, 06:54:22 PM
never used bisq only paradex. how does it work regarding wallets? on paradex you can use metamask but i dont think metamask supports monero or any other non erc20 tokens for that matter.

so i guess my question is about if bisq is safe to use? got quite a big stack of moneros i really dont want to risk losing

The base currency in Bisq is BTC, so there is no "home currency" acting as fuel (unlike other Decentralized EXchanges). I like this solution. When you buy BTC with XMR, the seller sends you BTC to a BTC wallet within Bisq (from which you control the private key, so it's really yours). Funds are locked in a multisig wallet until both parties confirm they received the funds. You can get more info at https://bisq.network/faq/ or make a small transaction to better understand the process.

It's not the perfect solution though as volume is low, it's slow and quite expensive. But I didn't find a good DEX for Monero. Of course, there are also Shapeshift and xmr.to which are private but still centralized.

Are you guys really trading XMR on centralized exchanges?? If not, what system are you using?

I don't really trade much anymore, I used to margin as it was fun but polo boned me one to many times and I don't trust Bitfinex and Kraken is in USD only and won't take my CC casue I'm not in the right country apparently. So all I usually do now is get BTC and buy XMR with it and try to hit the lows. I use polo until they demand KYC (I'm small potatoes) and Binance now and am looking forward to their decentralized Exchange.

I know that the Cryptocoin development is full of scams. In fact, I've single handedly destroyed a number of  bitcoin clone coins simply by looking at the source code and and revealing to the miners that the developer was being dishonest about the coin.

Do you understand the difference between cryptonote and cryptocoin?
