A word of warning when taking obscure, low hash, low volume alt-coins as collateral is that there have been a lot of 51% attacks where the attacker reverses a spend.

Until you sign a message from an address belonging to Satoshi, you are just pissing in the wind and not even as well as Craig Wright.

Most "real" Bitcoin miners have access to free or dirt cheap electricity. Their only cost to keep operating is maintaining the hardware they have bought and paying the lease on the space where it resides, if any. They are incentivized to NEVER shut down because they need to recoup their capital investment in the hardware.

It works great as both, but just don't fool yourself into thinking the time to buy it as a store of value is after a 500% 2-month price run-up. That was the worst time to invest. Now is arguably one of the best times, particularly for anyone with 5-10 year horizon.

I'm using Exodus and never have any problems. It seems to set a correct fee for fast processing.

It's sad that, after nearly a decade since the Genesis block (01/03/2009), the total size of all the transactions ever done on Bitcoin is only about 200GB. Holy low volume, Batman. We need more people using the coin.

Yawn on the photos. When are we going live again on exchanges, and when is the new merge mining client going to be released?

$6000-$7000. We're in a desperation selloff right now that represents investor capitulation at the end of a bear market. This is when big players start BUYING.

There's no tangible difference between $99.99 and $100.00. One less penny doesn't magically make it a good investment. If you're a buyer at $99, you should have already been a buyer at $100. If you hated ETH at $100, you should still hate it a $99. Now $10, that might be a buy point!

The United States also has 269 trillion dollars in assets, and a positive net worth of at least 123 trillion once all that debt is subtracted. Don't kid yourself into thinking the US is a poor debtor nation. It's the richest nation on earth by a hundred New York miles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_position_of_the_United_States. Biggest real problem is that the wealth is poorly distributed, and too much is in the hands of the ultrawealthy. Another point on the national debt is the lion's share is owed to ourselves, only a small fraction is foreign, and a lot of it is even held by the US federal reserve so those debt payments are just a shell game - the federal reserve credits back the treasury the interest and of course the federal government taxes the debt interest it pays back to domestic holders.

Once in a while, a great opportunity comes along to acquire more BTC. They don't last long. We are in that moment now, with prices nearly 75% off the peak.

the project is certainly intriguing, but I'm afraid to buy tokens (a similar project turned out to be a scam) SXC has been around forever. 2013, I think. Not a scam.

Terrific news. Keep up the good work and godspeed on getting those changes coded.

None of the Alt Coins ever offered anything compelling beyond what BTC already brought to the table, and all have far less mature and far less secure block chains. Winner, Bitcoin. The once, now, and future king.

What price are you offering, and are you willing to send first?

If you go back to 2013, you'll find a lot of "I can't believe I bought Bitcoin at $1000". The reality is BTC has had many spectacular rallies, and 80-90% crashes, yet over the long haul it keeps reaching new highs.
It will eventually plateau but there's no solid evidence $20k is that mark. Could go to $100k or $1M. HODL!

Ridiculous selloff. The pictures alone should bump the coin to $1!

ETH Classic seems like the best coin to invest in right now. The broader market has been hammered, but shows signs of stabilizing and all the negative press surrounding the main Ethereum blockchain and all of the failed ICO's isn't so much an issue for Ethereum Classic. I think we could see price parity between ETH and ETC within 12 months. $100-$200 range.

XRP is a scam. All it has done recently is separate investors from their money as the company dumps their massive premine.
