81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much is your reputation worth? $500 or $50,000. on: October 22, 2022, 05:44:44 PM
Very muddy case, I did not fully understand it actually. If he won the trial, then why didn't he recover his expenses at the expense of the losing side?

But let's assume this is a purely theoretical question. I know that such dilemmas often arise in civil litigation, since there is always the word of one side against the word of the other side and the presumption of innocence does not apply. That is, you must prove that you are innocent (what the opposite side accuses you of). Often such cases end in nothing - that is, party A cannot prove their statements, but party B cannot prove that these statements are false. And in the end, the one who tried to protect his reputation loses time and money (for lawyers and other expenses), but cannot "restore" his reputation.

I don't know how to solve this dilemma. You need to look at your financial capabilities and how much your reputation "brings you money" - if you lose income after losing it, then you need to protect it (but again with reasonable spending), and if this does not affect anything, then it might be worth going through by and forget about it.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Faucet and Bonus Farming on: October 22, 2022, 05:27:37 PM
I have seen more than 2 casinos locking user accounts for this action, and is it really the users fault?

If the users claims tons of faucets or bonus is because the casino engine allows it, and if the casino is losing money with this action they should fix their code to avoid this problem and not steal users money.

The casinos sets the rules of the game, and if a user is smarter enough to find a way to make profit with those rules then they shouldn't block users withdrawals.

So, what do you think about this?

The problem is that in almost all ToSs it is either directly written that promotions cannot be abused (plus this is always mentioned in the description of the promotion) or there is a clause that says that "in case of any disputable situation, the casino has the decisive word and it is final."
But in general, this is an interesting theoretical question, because if, for example, in some game a player reveals the ability to beat the casino, then this is the responsibility of the casino and such excuses do not work here. However, it is obvious that this can only be proved in court, since no casino admits its wrongfulness/responsibility in case of loss of money.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 22, 2022, 05:20:50 PM
If you think that $5k is not enough, then you probably keep some other amount in your head when you talk about it? 6k? 50k? At least tell me approximately, I personally have no thoughts on this matter, but such an idea is generally interesting. Visiting Macau is an interesting idea and it would be cheaper for me, but still the USA is a more interesting country, and besides, there is a crisis in China, I don’t know how safe it is to go there.

I've never been to the USA, but wow is $5k not enough? I know that things in the USA are a bit heavy because of all the war tabor that there is, however I have heard that to go to the USA it is not so much money that is spent, the meals and some things are cheap, the lodgings if I know that there are many expensive ones and it is very difficult to go and live there because of all that you have to pay for services and things like that, I believe that, despite everything, it is a country that moves thousands and thousands of dollars and that there will always be a way to resurface for people, especially for those in the third world, it is becoming more expensive, the most important thing is that in the USA there is inflation that continues to increase its levels.

I have not been to the US either and I would be interested to see information from those who were there. It is clear that you can spend any amount if you wish, since all people have different concepts of minimum comfort, but it seems to me that even residents of third countries can quite save up for such a trip if they set such a goal. For example, for me, the most expensive part of the trip will most likely be air travel (I will have to fly from Europe). For those who live at least in Latin America or Canada, such a trip will generally be much cheaper.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: October 21, 2022, 03:55:23 PM
To say that Messi won nothing with Argentina is an exaggeration - at least he has World Championship silver and one America's Cup. But this is really not enough, especially considering how many attempts Argentina failed before winning the America's Cup (if I'm not mistaken, 4). For a player of this stature, the public expects corresponding achievements, and throughout his career, Messi has been under the pressure of these expectations. This is his last World Cup where he takes part, so he probably does not want to think of the tournament as a last chance and he talks about the chances of other teams.
Great expectations must be obtained by star players like Lionel Messi, not only Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo also gets high expectations from the public about achievements in this world Cup. As we know, these two star players are players who have excelled both in teams and individually in the last decade. But this World Cup will probably be the last World Cup for both of them, so surely they are expected to come out and give something at the end of their careers as professionals.

Since the golden generation (Figo generation) Portugal have never been the favorites of any tournament and even when they won (and there was even a big victory - the European Championship 2016) it was against all odds. Football is a team game and despite the presence of any of the top players, if the team is not capable of great accomplishments, then one player does not change anything. In general, both Argentina and Portugal have good teams but are not the favorites of the tournament.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Want KYC at Crypto Casinos During Registration? on: October 21, 2022, 03:48:05 PM
Basic info during registration is okay, but it's better if they ask it after I won something because frankly, what risk is it for the casino to create my account save for it just taking up space in their servers? Not much for them to just accept the registration with blank KYC even after I deposited something. They can choose to hold my withdrawals for KYC compliance, and that I wouldn't complain since they have the right to do so aa they are mandated by the gov't to comply with KYC.

Also, most casinos don't ask much KYC after withdraws anyway. They only ask so much if something irregular is happening with the account, and it rarely happens.

Probably the casino requires at least minimal information from gamblers at the registration stage in order to avoid accusations of money laundering. Where is the guarantee that casino owners will not send themselves (and lose) dirty money to empty accounts? This reason seems logical to me. In addition, they need minimal information so that gamblers do not launder funds through the casino. For example, someone won $10k on an empty account. After that, he can sell access to this empty (in the sense of KYC) account for 11k dollars so that, for example, some drug dealer can withdraw clean money.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 21, 2022, 03:40:47 PM
Xavi understands the precariousness of his position and, judging by his latest interview, he is calm about his possible dismissal. He said that he would be sympathetic to the dismissal because Barcelona must fight for trophies and the head coach must achieve this. Now every unsuccessful game can be the last straw - even in La Liga, even in the Champions League. Everyone expects Barcelona to win and not just “regular” like over Villarreal, where the victory is “must be” but also in the next game with Bayern, even if this does not affect the outcome of the group stage.

sometimes people complain for no reason, let's see the current statistics from barcelon:

barcelona played 9 games and had 7 wins, 1 draw and only one loss. scored 21 goals and conceded only 4 goals

even real madrid conceded 8 goals, and twice as many goals as barcelona conceded, I'm a fan of real madrid but I think people shouldn't exaggerate talking about things like firing xavi, barcelona is having good results, and that's it It's a fact. people's problem is that they want to see barcelona being superior to real madrid to the point of having a big difference in points, but that is an exaggeration, since years there was always time when real madrid won and other times fell and the barcelona would win and at other times fall.

These statistics will be much worse if you add the failed statistics from the Champions League. It is unlikely that Barcelona spent such a huge amount of money (already having debts at that time) to repeat the elimination in the UCL group stage and the second place in La Liga. Xavi understands this and he himself talks about his possible dismissal, I only commented on his interview. But it seems to me that no matter how the results of Barcelona develop further, Xavi will be given the opportunity to refine until the end of the season.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 21, 2022, 02:56:57 PM
The Netherlands is an obvious favorite for the first place, and in my opinion Senegal is the favorite for the second place - this is a strong team, but Ecuador, although on paper it is weaker, has already presented surprises at the World Cups and they even managed to reach the 1/8 finals. Therefore, Ecuador cannot be discounted. The problem is that I don't know anything about the Qatar national team, and judging by the posts on the forum, not many people know, haha. Maybe they have already taken naturalized Brazilians and other professionals to the national team who, for a lot of money (which there is in Qatar), agreed to change their citizenship.
This group has been talked about a lot, and netherlands+senegal duo is just way too good to lose to a team like Qatar, and that’s not going to change. We will have to watch and see of course, that doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but if anyone ever wants to wager on these games, do you really think that it wouldn't be a huge risk to bet on Qatar to win? They are going to lose and Senegal and the Dutch will go up.

However, that won't even matter in the end, because I believe they will lose too, we already know the favourites of the tournament, which means that neither Netherlands nor Senegal would be able to go too much further ahead after they leave the groups.

I don't think that the Netherlands are so weak that they don't have a chance at all for the title. This is a short tournament and the result will be somewhat random. And in any case, it is better to lose in the final or semi-final than in the 1/8. Therefore, the Netherlands will be as motivated as possible. By the way, surprisingly, underdogs almost never become world champions, unlike the European Championship, where, for example, Greece, unexpectedly for everyone, became the champion, although the average strength of teams is higher at the European Championship than at the World Cup.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Gambling Stories on: October 21, 2022, 02:48:28 PM
These are two gambling stories that are very interesting

Story 1
A man stole his girlfriend's 10k to place a bet. He won 100 million and returned 10k to his girlfriend. His girlfriend is furious and demands 40 million dollars.

Story 2
An apprentice who won 16 million naira on BET was asked by his boss to split the money into two parts. This 50 - 50. As the story goes, people sided with his boss, and he had no choice but to comply. It's important to remember that the money used to bet belongs to the apprentice, not the boss.

*Read the different opinions of people here

First, in your opinion, what would be a reasonable amount to give his girlfriend? Second, assuming you were the apprentice in the story, would you abandon your training or would you have given in to the pressure to split the money with your boss?

1. If a guy stole $10k he should go to jail and he's obligated to pay damages - $10k, the rest of the money is rightfully his.
2. I don't know how big this is (because it's some weird currency) but I think the best strategy for a student would be to send their boss to hell and keep all the money for themselves.

This is my opinion, but I understand that different people have different relationships and it’s not a pity for someone to give their girlfriend even 5 million. This is a subjective matter.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: October 20, 2022, 04:42:40 PM
In my opinion, this is a fair forecast, it's hard to argue with the fact that Brazil and France are the main favorites of the tournament (although many add England). The fact that Messi did not mention Argentina may be due to the unwillingness to take on the responsibility of high expectations, or even the fact that Messi is afraid to jinx his national team. Inside the Argentine national team, I'm sure everyone is discussing only the possibility of taking the gold, they are all ambitious.
I think this is most likely the reason why he did not mentioned Argentina, we know that Messi has always been under enormous pressure whenever he was playing for his national team and until recently he had won nothing with them, so it is very likely that he prefers to not create expectations about the Argentinian team because if he does and he fails to win the world cup again then he will receive endless criticism for saying something and then being unable to make it come true.

90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 20, 2022, 04:22:45 PM
I've noticed a lot of people talking about how they would stop if they won a life changing amount (obviously quite a lot). But this is just theory, in practice you have to risk smaller sums of money before you win the desired life-changing sums. Let's say you want to win a million dollars and your gaming session is going well - you have already made 50,000 out of 100 dollars. Do you really not stop and continue playing until you get a million (or lose everything)? After all, $ 50,000 is also a huge amount of money and it’s nice to get away with such a jackpot. And the other side is that risking $100 is one thing, but risking $50,000 is another. It seems to me that many will change their mind at this moment and will never reach a million.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: October 20, 2022, 03:17:17 PM
Arsenal have a quite low odd like 1.55 maybe but I'm still expecting a very competitive game today.

PSV are also having a great season in their league and here both just as Arsenal. But playing in Emirates makes things really difficult for them. Arsenal are caring about the Europa League also now and they are keeping a good balance between this tournament and the Premier League. Arsenal would have a starting eleven close to the one in the Premier League I assume. Then I think Arsenal will manage to win this by a solid performance.

There is no need for Arsenal to save energy and when playing in front of their fans I think they will give it their all. Even with the status of the Europa League where many of the results are unexpected (too many compared to other major tournaments) the odds of 1.55 look like easy picks and easy money. PSV as a whole is weaker than Arsenal, plus nothing threatens their second place, so PSV will not play "like in the final" and I expect the logical outcome of this game in the form of Arsenal's victory.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 20, 2022, 02:45:51 PM
I have some actors that I like right but if they make a bet I won't follow their advice because I know it's not their forte. most artists bet based on their feelings alone not with careful analysis, that's different from the predictors that are spread out there. despite the reality on the ground that luck has a big role, in-depth analysis is very important, besides that odds also affects.

This is a sound reasoning, but an interesting nuance is that if we take a professional in some field and he tells us his opinion about the bets or shows his bet on the upcoming sporting event (boxer on boxing, football expert on football, etc.), then we shouldn't listen to him anyway. Firstly, this is a money issue and here we can rely only on ourselves so as not to shift the blame on someone else. We must clearly understand that we ourselves make the decision. Secondly, even a professional in some kind of sport still cannot beat the bookmaker. Otherwise, we would only hear about how professional athletes or experts do it.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 20, 2022, 02:39:35 PM
I don't think so. In football, there are no easy games.
Every match is crucial for Barca because, after October 30th, there will be XaviOut or Xaviball.
Barcelona risked it all. Lost El Clasico and a dramatic draw with Inter Milan gave Barcelona a lifeline.
Now, Villareal. Hopefully, Barca doesn't lose and qualify for the round of 16. Let's wait and see the score.

Liverpool have been showing a really positive performance in the West Ham match so far. They have dominated the first 60 minutes and they are still in the lead by 1-0. But I believe that it is a very risky score. West Ham have dangerous attacking players and they can punish them unexpectedly. I don't even know why Liverpool are struggling this much to score more than one goal against them. They aren't Manchester City in the end. They could have even scored more goals to Manchester City for example.

But I hope that they will break the deadlock sooner or later and relieve themselves finally. I've bet on Liverpool win so I'm not very comfortable with this score now.  Grin  By the way it was nice to see that Nunez scored the goal. He really needs to improve his self-confidence by continuing to score regularly.

It's almost 80 minutes and the score is still 1-0. A very slippery score given that Liverpool's defense allows opponents to score goals in almost every game. West Ham failed to convert a penalty at the end of the first half, which could have turned the game around, but even now I'm sure we have a hot 10 minutes ahead of us.

Lionel Messi have picked Brazil and France as the favourites for the World Cup citing their team players who have played together for longtime. Messi hadn't mentioned Argentina to be the favourite as more players are into injuries and are playing fixtures for clubs even though the World Cup matches were scheduled.

Leave the possibility of being asked for KYC when requesting withdrawals or after big wins.

For the obvious reasons you listed, this is not an acceptable option. In an ideal world, the player first goes through all the necessary procedures (including the KYC), and then gets the opportunity to play in the casino. If he has passed all the procedures, then there are no more additional checks and the withdrawal of funds is done automatically (even if your winnings are very large).
Unfortunately, we live in an imperfect world and players from time to time encounter the problems that you described, but reputation plays a role here. Experienced gamblers play only at reputable casinos, which means that these casinos will not use KYC against their client and in general for fraudulent purposes, only out of real necessity.

He seems to be the oldest recipient of the award since 1956. A cool achievement even considering that modern medicine has gone very far ahead and modern players have more opportunities to extend their professional career. On the other hand, now the competition is undoubtedly higher, in those years the player was not purely professional, when the players devoted themselves to one thing all their lives since childhood.
Ronaldo and Messi reign has denied many good players the opportunity to compete for that award, think of Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, etc. Actually, Benzema has done so much that he has been mentioned everywhere. If he hadn't been given the award, there would have been controversy. Ronaldo and Messi's decline can be attributed to their conceit and changing clubs. It is my hope that from now on we will have new players

This is a common thing in sports - only a few remain in people's memory, although there are always a huge number of worthy and great athletes. For example, I am sure that few of the modern generation will be able to name at least a couple of Pele's partners, although they were the greatest players. After the era of Ronaldo-Messi, it looks like there will be an era of Haaland-Mbappe, and already in the next era, it is unlikely that anyone will remember Ronaldo and Messi strongly (except for old people, of course, for whom all the best remains in youth/maturity).

As for the sanctions, I think that it should be a lifetime ban in all competitions. And in fact, I consider this a lenient punishment, since Nieman is obviously a scammer and took other people's money through fraud. I don’t understand why he can’t be put in jail like other scammers?

have you watched "tinder swindler"?
sometimes it's hard to put people in prison in some cases of fraud
crazy system

not sure if this applies to the case in question with Nieman
maybe not

on the movie the guy can't really be punished because he does a lot of international scams and fool the women to pay and take loans for him, since "psychological pressure and emotional manipulation" are not crimes he doesn't go to jail.

I haven't seen this movie but I've heard about it. I would not draw analogies, since everything is more or less simple here - Niemann has US citizenship Chess.com also works in US jurisdiction. It would be cool if some independent prosecutor started an investigation against him and filed charges. There are enough reasons for this: he appropriated other people's money using other people's trust - this fully fits the criminal article of fraud, even though there is no criminal punishment for cheating. But the court can qualify any action as it sees fit (based on the opinions of experts, of course).
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: October 18, 2022, 03:23:49 PM
But as long as the casino noticed the money is laundered, it would be seized.

What if the laundered cash is from someone the casino knows and is trying to cover. Do you think it will be seized? That will not happen. Or you think casinos do not hide criminals? Forget the AML and KYC thing that goes on that make us think everyone is documented, not so. There will be few exceptions of people who gamble at the casinos but do not pass through all that eventhough there is AML in their TOS. There is often a back door to every situation and those who know it will exploit it.

Blockchain documents everything by default. And regardless of whether the casino knows the client and how important he is to them, if he uses dirty money, they will be blocked, and information from transactions will go to the police. Do you think casino owners are so stupid to risk all their business (and maybe even freedom) for someone to use the "loopholes" in their casino? I am sure that no owner will take such risks, only if the casino was originally created for money laundering, then maybe.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 18, 2022, 03:14:18 PM
About Union Berlin and Napoli for me this is something different, because Union Berlin this season is their fourth season playing in the Bundesliga because previously Union Berlin played in the 2. Bundesliga. But indeed, from year to year or season to season from the first time Union Berlin played in the Bundesliga, their performance continues to improve and it can be seen from their end of season position each season. The first season Union Berlin could end the season in 11th place, the next season ended the season in 7th place and then in 5th place. This season is the 4th season for Union Berlin and they managed to make a big surprise, and it is different with Napoli who every season indeed always compete at the top of the Serie A standings.

This is true. Napoli are consistently in the top four teams in Italy in terms of budget and results. They play consistently in the Champions League and are used to the high level of opponents. Union Berlin is a complete newcomer to this business, just because they are now in first place does not mean at all that they will be able to keep it or even enter the top three teams at the end of the season. Union Berlin is a dark horse and it is not yet clear what it is capable of. Given that all the teams in the Bundesliga except Bayern somehow have big weaknesses, I think Union Berlin has a chance even for second place.
