With 1,610 coins & tokens (and rising), how are you finding good or promising new coins?
It is becoming increasingly difficult, too many projects are popping up daily. In the "old time" (2 years ago) it was enough to check the ANN forum here, but now this place has become too messy and chaotic for that purpose. I sometimes check websites that compare ICOs or coins or stumble just by chance on sth that somebody mentions in the forum. Reading a lot helps  While this is true, it is also getting increasingly difficult to filter facts/truth from bad information. There are so many conflicting information out there. The more I read, the more confused I get sometimes.   |

I doubt any of them will touch $500 this year.
NEO is less than half the LTC price today...but in the long run I think NEO will win this race. I just don't think it will happen this year.

Lately I see a lot of people talking about NEO, I do not know exactly coin that is similar to NEO and IOTA, but save NEO is it possible to be profitable for the near future?
Possible but nothing can be assured especially these days. Also depends on how long is your "near future".  |

Why should we rely only on 1600 coins / tokens from the coinmarket? There are many more than this number, just doing searches on rank websites masternodes we find new or different currencies. Regarding the top 6 mentioned, only with the first item can we have a good base of the coin or design your future.
To my point, there is just too many now that it is so hard to track. I chose CMC because it is the most reliable list for me. I have no time to go looking for more coins outside CMC to be honest...can't even check their new coins now. :O |

Yeah, it was a lot of work to do due diligence for every promising project last year, but now it's just impossible. Unless you have a group of people doing the research with you, I think right now it's better to focus on most hyped projects for quick flip and pick some solid coins you belive the most for long term hold. I have learned that for those crazy ROI ICOs fundamentals doesn't metter, it's pure hype.
I agree. I used to play the market and flip now and then (when I am more enthusiastic and have more energy) but now I am going with long term hold (years). I will monitor the market but if all goes well, the trading should be minimal. I was also over diversified and started consolidating my coins from 38 to 16 now...may end up around 12-14 soon. I rarely "hunt" for new coins nowadays...I let them show up instead (near or in top 100 with decent community support). I may miss the max gain but it seems safer this way. |

New to owning NEO, are there any other usages for GAS (than fees) ?
GAS is a good altcoin on it's own and does a lot better than many coins that are set up as individual projects + ICO + private investors. Holding NEO gives you this GAS for free so it is used as both gas fees and as a store of value. Can't get much better than a two for one coin - both of which are very good. It was projected that once all NEO based tokens go fully utilized, GAS may become more valuable than NEO itself. I can see it happening since there is only 17.2 million GAS token max supply and after a while they will stop producing them. It will get burned when used as well (only a small percentage is re-cycled) so it's value may skyrocket in the future given the amount of NEO based ICOs or new tokens coming out now. |

Even if you make millions of $$$$...if it is stolen, it means nothing.
Use a strong password,
use 2FA (two factor authentication),
only deal with respected exchanges,
use a hardware wallet.
Store your passwords, 2FA and wallet keys in a safe place. Never share them and never keep them in your computer.

For each 1 VEN you'll receive 100 VET. They are doing 1/100 swap, need more understanding and recognize that if ven tokens will probably be useless? Even have to wait for their instructions, if any exchange supports this swap!
I've read this and I am concerned. Right now there is 873,378,637 totan VEN token...if they multiply it by 100...we will have 87.33 billion tokens. I believe the current supply is optimal and diluting it may back fire. By the way, VEN will totally vanish and will be replaced by VET. It will come with a new token VTHO (VeThor) which is the equivalent of GAS in NEO. |

I'm in ICX and ARK but I think the gains have already been made for ICX especially. I know wanchain is quite a new coin so maybe that would be my choice out of the 3 as it probably has more potential to pump

These coins/tokens are in same niche market and I hold them (among many). I am wondering how people who are invested (in 1, 2, or 3 coins) split their investment percent wise.
Mine is split this way among this 3...
ICX 53%
ARK 26%
WAN 21%
Thoughts on which to increase decrease? Personally I wanted to increase my WAN holdings.

Whats? Bitcoins at number of 13? It's kidding. I am not believe of this ranked.
Bitcoin as #1 and no altcoins can be replace that.
It is like saying Cadillac cannot be replaced in the 70s...a few decades later, it is struggling. Soon, it's fan base (old generation) will all be gone and it will be too. Bitcoin IMHO is the same. It is still king-- but not forever. Tech wise, it was revolutionary 10 years ago but today it is among the least functional coins. It still has the greatest recognition being the 1st but that is it. Unless it evolves and get updated drastically, it is like a dinosaur (used to be king) that will become extinct. |

Thanks for the heads up. Sold all the coins I got and bought more RPX  Remains to be seen if my decision is right or wrong. At any rate...it was free money anyway. My PRL were all sold after the snap shot. Cool buddy not a bad decision. But it might spike once it gets listed on the CMC and then a dump. I thought that but since BTC is tanking and alt prices are on "sale", I decided to take the plunge. |

ICON are one of the projects in which I am confident and for which I do not worry. I am sure that there will be good growth this year.
I think that is the key...find a coin you trust and you will not lose sleep even when the market is tanking. You are confident it will rebound in the future. |

There is rumors of Samsung partnerships on ICX reddit now too
The rumours turned out to be true. Samsung has announced the usage of CHAIN ID technology by ICON in the authentication service Samsung Pass. Why do not we see a moon then? This is great. We all know that South Korea economy is big, they have big brands and they love cryptocurrencies. This samsung news is awesome. Why is Icon team is so slow in development? Is there any updates regarding the main net? Eos team, Neo team even Cardano team works better SLOW??? ICX is very new and they've delivered so much in a short span of time. They have so many partnerships going already. Mainnet 1.0 was launched since January. It is not growing because it wasn't noticed as much yet (too many people focused on BTC, BCH and ETH--plus BTC tanking affects everything negatively) I think it will skyrocket shortly though. This is one of the most under rated coins IMHO. |
