81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QRL - Announcing the Quantum Resistant Ledger on: December 31, 2017, 11:07:09 PM
Get ready for the QRL Launch
Author: Founder, Peter Waterland (Discord @peterwaterland)

- Roadmap changes. QRL goes live mid Q1 2018
- Token migration opens next month
- Ephemeral with Dilithium and Kyber now in the codebase
- Team expansion into 2018
- Conferences, conferences, conferences

https://medium.com/the-quantum-resistant-ledger/get-ready-for-qrl-launch-b078963d035e

I'm glad I we'll get to mine it for a little while. Cryptonote is one of my favorite algos for my GPUs and I'll be pointing them at the QRL pool 24/7 until the fork.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QRL - Announcing the Quantum Resistant Ledger on: December 31, 2017, 05:26:44 AM
Just a reminder to all the morons who are still holding this shit:

* Their paper guy sent FUD emails to investors few days after trading launch, price tanked
* He did it again and dumped price even further
* Waterlend dumped his QRL stash (he bought own ICO so he got it for free basically)
* They are "developing" quantum snake oil using scripting python language
* Moron on twitter have no idea how to tweet properly
* Discord is a circle jerking with bans if you ask sensitive questions
* Many people left
* During all this time team never delivered quality updates to community
* If you still chilling yourself with "stable in USD" bullshit, sorry, even fiat value goes out of alts

Serious project understand the value of deadlines, they altered all deadlines so we all have no idea when they will deliver even basic features on mainnet. meanwhile they keep adding features which must be postponed for scheduled protocol upgrades like all normal crypto projects do.

All this project is a bitcoin theft, "CEO" never spent any, dumped his QRL instead because he knows it perfectly that value of it is zero.
They claim there are a dozen of people working on a project, they are just having fun with buddies. Python script for thousands of BTC.

I'm also getting the scammy vibe from this too.  Is it normal for a team not to live in the same city?  Which are far as I can tell they're spread across the globe.

Did you create an account today just to help spread FUD?

I'm not invested in it but it looks like Lunyr is becoming popular. Got mentioned by a few big names including BitcoinDad.

Here is a very thorough guide posted on a thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1954245.0

Look it over and do your research before you do anything it says.

I think I'm going to unfollow this thread. This feels very strange too me and I don't want to witness the scam unfold.

Hey Felixando,

I made a donation towards development of this amazing project.
Here is my tx id:
https://blockchain.info/tx/dc02ed181a6c79a5f6ed191252d4c43574dacf3639244f552e5c877c9a83d178

I will make another donation when there is some progress Smiley
Quite the donation for a project that has very little concrete information yet.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]★CryptoBridge★BCO★🔹Decentralized EXchange 📈RELEASED NOW BETA🔹 on: December 28, 2017, 06:14:31 AM
People are discussing whether BCO is an easy-to-earn system or not, but remember, it can be used as coin, that's, it's beyond staking and the DEX CryptoBridge itself... Can be used as a value reserve, name is attractive, the Asian community is adopting massively BCO, can not complain about this coin. Wink

I agree about the value reserve aspect. With the staking payouts I have gotten, I sold all for BTC and then bought BCO with it. That was a good choice as BCO is only going up and is remarkably stable. If you don't want to lose value with your payouts, then I suggest people sell for BCO.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Stone - DAG Data-Structured Private Cryptocurrency on: December 28, 2017, 03:03:54 AM
If STONE is Private, Instant, Feeless, Secure, with Quantum Resistance & Smart Contracts it will be the Holy GRAIL of currency. Lots of potential.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and support, for now i am just working towards privacy, after that milestone has been completed i will reevaluate the project and add new ideas in the roadmap as myself and the community see fit.

Iota is still beta. The Iota Tangle is not stand alone, the Tangle is controlled by coordinators, and the coordinators are controlled by the Iota foundation. Who will control the coordinator of your project? You alone, a community, foundation or a company?
Can you please answer my question?

Someone has already answered your questions in a previous post, but Stone is not based on IOTA, but on RaiBlocks, Colin LeMahieu's creation (https://github.com/clemahieu/raiblocks/wiki)

This is a basically Steem clone...
Since 82% of BCO is owned by Top 30 insiders and spec miners.

So CryptoBridge is to Polo/Bittrex... as Steem is to Medium.

Right now the annual staking yield is about 1%...
But no rational trader would stake BCO at less than 20-30% yield (and probably never)...
Because that's what you can make just swing trading...
And the Real Money is made by selling into and near the top of Pumps.

Polo/Bittrex volume is driven by whales with $50 million who park $1 million on Polo/Bittrex...
These guys have the best US lawyers/accountants and minimal counterparty risk on Polo/Bittrex.
While counterparty risk with BCO is almost impossible to calculate.

But it's really a fabulous platform  Smiley
So someone is gonna fork it and pay traders instead of the Top 30.
Guy, what are you talking about? I'm 1.7% holder of BridgeCoin and I have no relationship with these 82% Super Men! In the middle of November you could have found BCO between 1050 to 1100 sat! The prices were minimal so far, are you being fair to compare Steem with CryptoBridge? Does it make sense to compare two different products? If there is no liquidity, no holder will receive, it all boils down to betting and believing things will be different! Trading today looks different, if you think it's a suspicious coin, just enjoy the wave. Wink
Quite a hefty bag. Are you staking?

Risky.

You seem to be a really smart guy.
No risk, you don't get scammed.

This is your opinion and I respect it, but 99% of projects have majority holders. You don't need to stake to make profit, especially now since the volume isn't enough for small holders to benefit. Trade on the DEX and sell BCO when it pumps because this will make you money as well with the increasing price of BCO and the Market Maker payouts.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: December 27, 2017, 11:07:55 AM

Yes, you can.  I have armor doing 30 Mh/s on ETH.  but won't do at 100w.  More like 120w.

Thanks alot. With this card bring 1/3 price of Vega 64 which is a unicorn at a decent price, I am leaning more towards RX 570.

What BIOS and settings are u using?

Thanks 👍

Custom BIOS but any 1500 straps mod would work fine and close to 30 MH/s with blockchain drivers or compute workload on latest adrenalin/crimson.  Clocks are 1140/2050-2100 depending on each card.
I just got some 570s and will be running my rig on Ubuntu server. To configure and mod my cards, I'll be using a Windows 10 Pro workstation for the most compatibility. This may be a dumb question but do you know if modding the BIOS of the cards to work on Windows 10 will affect their performance or functionality on Ubuntu Server? My thinking is if I can tinker with them to be efficient and powerful on Windows 10, then will I achieve the same results after modification plugging them into Ubuntu. This is of course with the appropriate drivers installed.

What are the payout specs for the beginner mining software on the electroneum page? It uses a predefined pool with a pretty easy-to-use interface for quick setup of mining. What is the minimum amount of ETN to mine before payout and how often is payout?
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]★CryptoBridge★BCO★🔹Decentralized EXchange 📈RELEASED NOW BETA🔹 on: December 27, 2017, 02:53:00 AM
Any plans of listing BCO with other exchanges? I checked coinmarketcap and it's only listed as tradeable on internal exchange.
One of the big values of Cryptobridge is the profit share. If it is listed on other exchanges then the fees that would have been generated from transacting Bridgecoin there would not benefit stakers.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Graceful Shutdown on: December 22, 2017, 06:04:07 PM
Not sure if you're Windows or Linux... but:

I could be wrong re: Windows not having something built in, I'll admit.
I am running a Windows rig. I find that the software for mining is more readily made to be compatible with it. And that program from APC is EXACTLY what I am looking for. I didn't know they came with the UPS. Thank you!
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Graceful Shutdown on: December 22, 2017, 05:28:38 PM
I am buying a UPS to support my rig just in case I lose power. I plan to mine 24/7 which means when I am not home, I will not be able to completely maintain the rig. Do you have experience with programs that support a graceful shutdown with loss of power? The situation I am planning for is the house immediately loses power and the rig shuts down in the middle of mining with all processes interrupted and possibly corrupted. I would like the following to happen:

1. Power loss
2. UPS kicks in and supports it for a few minutes
3. My rig detects the UPS supporting it through battery backup
4. My rig begins a shutdown procedure which gracefully shuts down all mining processes and turns of the PC.

Has this been supported before, and if so what program/script do you recommend?

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to split the investment - 20k for a little mining farm on: December 22, 2017, 05:21:10 PM
Hi there. I'm going to invest 20k for some rigs, considering that ethereum may go to PoS next year, I was thinking about taking something like:
1 rig with 8x 1070 (mining zcash or whatever is profitable)
1 rig with 8x vega (mining cryptonight)
3 rigs with 8x 580 each (24 GPUs total, mining ethash or whatever will be profitable)

How is this setup? Does it make sense to split the hardware like that to chase different mining objectives? Or should i just go for 48x 580s, 24x vegas or 32x 1070s?

I'd like to receive some tips, thank you.

If I had $20k for a set-up I would go;

35 * 1070ti ($15,715)
5 * 7 card rigs - 1200W PSU and nvOC on USB

If you have a mix of cards you will have to learn that much more.  You will run into problems, especially if you are running Windows 10. My best advise would be to learn how to disable Windows update.  Microsoft has fine-tuned that so you can't disable anymore through control panel or the stupid 'settings' anymore.

My next rig will run Linux.
If you don't know how to disable windows update, follow this guide: https://www.pcworld.com/article/3085136/windows/two-ways-to-control-or-stop-windows-10-updates.html. Windows 10 is the best option for both beginner and advanced because of the compatibility it offers for software such as bios modding, performance monitoring, and GPU support.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition Alternative ? on: December 22, 2017, 05:13:33 PM
Hello

I was searching for this card: SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition
But it's out of stock on Newegg...
Can you propose card alternatives? Or other places to buy this card? For ETH. Thanks!
If you want an Nvidia alternative, I would go with the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB. Best bang-for-buck cheap alternative.

I have not been able to sell my coins for 4 months, who will explain to me how I can do it inside the platform?
You need to unlock your account. In the top right of the screen, you should see a padlock. Click that, then enter your password. Then, go to the Exchange tab and execute a trade.
