Hi, I'm new to the forum and am waiting to be upgraded from newbie status so I figured I'd try to start a discussion...
My hot sauce company has just started accepting Bitcoin as a payment method (no BTC sales yet unfortunately). Any other merchants out there that can share their experience accepting Bitcoins in a non-Bitcoin (non-tech) related industry? Has it worked out well? Has it helped with marketing? Any tips? Thanks!
Thats awesome Kudos to your hot sauce company

Its only a little over 2 coins so about $220 worth, but its still money I could use. I used zip zap to purchase the coins and they then send those coins to instawallet so I never had a chance to put them on my computer. I made the transaction, checked my wallet on instawallet when I got home and thats when I found out instawallet had shut down. Do you think instawallet blocks transfers now since its so long after them shutting down?
This sucks, yea instawallet shut down. Try to get in contact with them and maybe they can help you out.

We're up to 100 now. BFL says they're shipping, so I see the hashrate jumping in leaps and bounds.
They are shipping only very very slowly Super slowly! Like 1 a day..

Check out the official thread in my signature, we will refund any 0.01BTC bets regardless of win/loss. Please post your txid in that thread.
Cool nice to help out the newbies.

I have this feeling that all the idiots who scream that BFL is a scam will just disappear and make new accounts later this year. And there will be a few nuts that believe that hundreds of forum users are being paid by BFL to act like they got working ASIC's.
I will stay. Lmao I laughed!

Okay so I have been developing (trying to) an Altcoin for fun and for education. So I got stuck on the generating the merkle root and genesis block. But I was wondering... What would happen if I made some minor code edits (ie coins rewarded per block and number of.coins allowed) what would happen if I just compiled and run that with the original genesis block and merkle root of bitcoin. Wpuld I be mining bitcoin or my own coin?
Whoah developing a coin is extremly difficult and takes a lot of knowledge sure your up to it?
