81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining alone on a pool VS real solo mining via RPC on: February 07, 2018, 06:41:17 PM
according to whattomine i should mine 3.9 etc per day,  thats exactly 1 block.  i have 0.013% hashrate from the total hash.

i was just in the impression that i would get the same result by solo mining than mining alone on that pool.  1 or 2 blocks per day was ok with me.

i though maybe something is going different between mining alone on a pool and solo mining. Maybe the way that the work is distributed over the rigs.

0.013% of 5800blocks/day = 0.7 blocks,    just 1 or 2 was doable

Mining is random. The average might be one block per day but still some days you get 3 blocks and sometimes you need 3 days to get 1 block.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's time to hodl and earn dividends/staking...residual income. on: February 07, 2018, 04:12:49 PM
Bean Cash (previously known as BitBean) is a staking coin.
I have not tried it myself yest but it looks interesting.
I would love to get a list of promising staking coins.

Another option is to buy masternode coins and run masternodes to get rewards.
I have tried that and one that I really like is Monoeci (previously known as MonacoCoin).
It is more about promising Projects than ROI numbers. The bad thing is that getting a master node is very expensive in most cases (for small Investors like me). I was lucky to buy some back in November when price was low but now the prices is almost as low again.

A different kind of masternode coin is Zencash which has something called Secure Nodes. It is technical different than most other masternodes but I like it most because it is a nice Project.

Other option could be running your own mining pools to get some income from pool fees, but I think it is too much work doing that.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining alone on a pool VS real solo mining via RPC on: February 07, 2018, 03:49:41 PM
In the very long run you should earn a bit more with solo mining because there are no pool fees. But it might need a very long time to find blocks when mining yourself and some periods you are more lucky than other periods. Maybe you hit a lucky period on the pool and unlucky period when solo mining? With pool mining many miners shares the rewards and payouts are more evenly distributed.

Maybe try some coin with lower difficulty if you want to solo mine.
There are some lesser known coins you can try here: https://minerpool.net/

For testing try one with low network hashrate which should make you find blocks more often.

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cryptonight] CPU mining guide & coins that will get you a return on: February 06, 2018, 04:40:11 PM
There are more cryptonight coins that are profitable but which one is best varies all the time.
Better to link to one of the available calculators.

https://whattomine.com/

For some reason dero, turtlecoin and sumokoin looks nice today.

When new notice?

what notice are you waiting for?  Grin

Should be a newsletter today. Every first and 15th of each month there is a new ITNS newsletter. In the past it was only on the 15th but last newsletter said it will come also the 1th so two newsletters every month.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine -New Dev Team on: January 30, 2018, 03:08:33 PM
the benefit of dividing them is having more chances to find a sprout.

According to the calculator 250000 bean get 10000 in 30 Days so that would mean first sprout comes after 3 Days, it divides in two and then it need 6 Days until two sprouts come and divides into 4 and it need 12 Days when 4 sprouts come and so on. It would be less and less often and after a while I have to wait forever?

But if I collect everything each month and start a new wallet that is not divided I can make it go faster again? I know they work in parallell when divided but each one is working slower so how can that be a benefit?

No you see it wrong. If you buy 250k beans, you get 1 sprout every 3 days on average. It's also possible to get 2 sprouts just minutes after eachother, it's random in some way.

And according to your math: first sprout after 3 days, 2 sprouts after 6 days (which is still 1 sprout every 3 days), 4 sprouts after 12 days (which is also still 1 sprout every 3 days). How is this waiting forever after a while? Your average of 1 sprout every 3 days stays the same in this example.

OK it is the random part I missed. When I read the description it sound like I had to wait predetermined periods of time that doubled but if it is random then it will be spread out in time. Then it should really not matter if it is divided in many blocks or not, that's just how it works internally. With 250k beans I get a sprout in average every 3 days no matter if it is divided or not.

It sound a bit like burst mining on hard drives. The more drives you have (the more terrabytes) the better chance to win a block and you get a shorter time in average between won block rewards. But you never know when you win. Using many parallell hard drives makes them scan faster and you get a better chance to win a fast block. I compare the blocks of beans with hard drives. One really big and really slow hard drive may take several minutes to scan but it is still better than one small fast drive. Is there a "scan time" for blocks of beans too? Just using this analogy to make me understand it. I guess it does not help people never mined burst coins but for me it makes it more understandable :-)

I read that 100k is optimal block size so just do manual cleaning end of each month to make sure blocks are at least 100k and I am good to go.

I run some masternodes for other coins. There I can set up a VPS running the wallet remotely but actual coins are stored in my local wallet at home. Can this be done when staking beans? I rather not want a VPS wallet hacked and my beans stolen. If the beans are not actually stored on the VPS it would make me feel more secure. I should encrypt wallet anyway but is that enough to feel safe? With a masternode coin the wallet must have a static ip address (that is one reason I not run it at home because of dynamic ip at home). Is static ip address a requirement for staking Bean Cash?
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine -New Dev Team on: January 30, 2018, 12:05:07 PM
the benefit of dividing them is having more chances to find a sprout.

But also take longer time when divided?

I was sceptical on Bean cach first but reading more it looks like an interesting concept. So I might sell one of my masternodes (other coins) and test if sprouting beans could be an alternative. Say I buy 200000 beans (about the same amount as the cheaper masternodes you can buy), should I put them in two different staking addresses from the beginning or is it better to use just one and let it split as it like?

The sprouts coming less and less often after each sproute (becouse of the Dividing) is not a concern? Better to let it take longer time to get a bigger chance? I Think I don't understand the concept how to optimize this.

According to the calculator 250000 bean get 10000 in 30 Days so that would mean first sprout comes after 3 Days, it divides in two and then it need 6 Days until two sprouts come and divides into 4 and it need 12 Days when 4 sprouts come and so on. It would be less and less often and after a while I have to wait forever?

and did not understand ... I have 15K Bin, what should I do so that there is a rapid germination?

http://sproutingcalculator.com/ shows 15k Beans will reward you 600 Beans in 30 days...

if you double this... it will reward you 1200 Beans in 60 days ( it will probably be 45 or 50 days before you receive 1000 Sprouts "this will be the time it takes to receive your first Sprout with 15k invested" )

After you receive your rewards the Block will split:

1st Block = 15k
after rewards the 15k block will split into two blocks,
1st Block divides into 2nd Block = 7500, 3rd Block = 7500 and the 1000 Bean rewards will divide and 500 Bean will be added to the 2nd Block and 3rd Block...

1st Block = 15k

2nd Block = 7500 + 500 = 8000 is in this block

3rd Block = 7500 + 500 = 8000 is in this block

Now take 8000 Beans go to the http://sproutingcalculator.com/ Calculate reward for 8000 Beans in 30 days... = 320 Beans ( this should give you two 1000 Beans reward in about 100 days )

then your two Blocks will split in to four Blocks...

4th Block = 4000 + 500 = 4500 is in this block

5th Block = 4000 + 500 = 4500 is in this block

6th Block = 4000 + 500 = 4500 is in this block

7th Block = 4000 + 500 = 4500 is in this block

Now take 4500 Beans go to the http://sproutingcalculator.com/ Calculate reward for 4500 Beans in 30 days...

If you can't afford to buy large amounts, buying $50.00 a week and put it in difference deposit address will help building blocks...

Let them Sprout for a year or two and you will be receiving 10 or more Sprouts a day... Smiley

Good Luck my Friends and Happy Sprouting!

What is the reason of splitting each block to two when the sprout come? This method will make the time needed for next sprout be longer and longer for each sprout. Would it not be better if the sprout beans just added to the same block (address) and made the time to next sprout shorter? It feels one would like to move everything to one new block as soon as it has sprouted.

Or do I miss what the benfit of dividing them is?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sprouting Bitbean is 10X more profitable than mining on: January 29, 2018, 09:32:26 PM
Instead of selling your mined coins and buying something else like these beans and sprouts there is an alternative to hold the coins you have mined. If you are lucky the coin rise in value and you gain profit without generating new coins by PoS. Have you compared how much you would have earned by holding the coins you mined instead of changing them to beans? It could be an interesting comparison.

hmmmm, not really. since Bitbean is POS I sell the mined coin as soon as possible to get those satoshis sprouting more. The production rate is 10x faster so the mined coin would have to increase in value 10 fold to match the Beans. That could happen but I'd rather not wait.

Well I mined intense coins back in november and then I got like 15000 coins per day with 4.5 kH/s cryptonight. Price was below 10 sat. Today price is around 230 sat so that is more than 20 times higher in just two months. I doubt I had gained more by selling them and buying bitbeans.

Hello guys, Is there some calculation formula for MN daily reward? I know the more MNs, the less reward for each, but I'd like to know the calculation for DSR. Smiley

You can check here if you don't want to calculate it yourself:
https://masternodes.online/currencies/DSR/

But we can try to calculate it.
According to coin info (second post in this thread)
Block reward is controlled by: 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2)
Mastenode reward: 20%

Block    Award MN

158000 - 25.0%
175280 - 30.0%
192560 - 35.0%
209840 - 37.5%
227120 - 40.0%
244400 - 42.5%
261680 - 45.0%
278960 - 47.5%
313520 - 50.0%

Block generation: 2.5 minutes

Wee need to know current block number, current difficulty and current number of masternodes in order to know how much each reward is and how often they come. Using this block Explorer http://desire.thecryptochat.net/ get info about current block number and difficulty. It looks like difficulty is around 200 according to the graph so let's use that number. 2222222/(((200+2600)/9)^2) = 22.96

Block 57910: This means masternode reward is still 20%
Looking at latest blocks in the block Explorer makes me beleive the total reward is 23 DSR and 4.6 DSR goes to masternode and rest to miner.

So 4.6 DSR each 2.5 minutes means all masternodes get 4.6*(24*60/2.5) = 2649.6 DSR Daily
So 2649.6 DSR Daily reward is split between all the Active masternodes.
How many masternodes are Active today? According to  masternodes.online it is 930.
This means each masternode would get 2649.6/930 = 2.85 DSR Daily
Masternodes.online say daily reward is 2.62 DSR daily. It is Close enough so I Think we have calculated it correctly.Maybe real block times have been a bit longer than 2.5 minutes or maybe difficulty has changed a bit? Masternodes.online say they use real rewards latest 24 hours to calculate.

95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Free Coins? on: January 29, 2018, 09:35:17 AM
A majority of cryptocurrencies are using open source software so they stands for freedom. In that aspect the coins are free as in freedom. You can buy those free coins on an Exchange.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining is OUTDATED!!! on: January 29, 2018, 08:51:35 AM
There are a lot of coins that can be mined that also have masternodes. Best way to get hold of coins that are not yet listed on an Exchange is by mining. I don't like ICO or preselling because I have no idea of the value when or if it eventually get listed on an Exchange. But with mining I can get a feeling of the value of a coin. If I get a certain number of coins for my hashrate I can compare the value of other coins using the same hashrate of mining and this way I can get a rough estimation of the value on the market even without a listing on an Exchange. I don't even have to own the mining Equipment, I can make the calculations if the coin is minable and there is a block Explorer that shows me the nethash.

I do both, I have masternodes and I do mining. I have to invest more to get the same amount of coins from a masternode but if the value of the coins on the market increase I can get more reward from the masternode than from mining. What I mean is that masternode earnings difficulty often increase slower than mining difficulty. When number of masternodes increase the rewards of each masternode decrease. But if it is more expensive to buy the masternode not as many new inverstors can afford it.

Yes I think masternodes are good but only as a complement to mining.

How I can buy masternode?

Hello, you need to buy 1000 XMCC on one of our exchanges like Cryptopia or Coinexchange.

Thanks. Wanted to buy XMCC for one lot.

You need an incoming transaction to your wallet that is exactly 1000 XMCC so you have to buy a tiny little bit more than 1000 XMCC to cover the transaction fee that reduce the amount from your transaction.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Opteron 6378 4x, total 64 cores hash? on: January 26, 2018, 07:29:16 AM

Opteron 6380 has AES so I guess that is why he recommend CPU upgrade?
I think you are right about the included Opteron 6176.
Opteron 6100 does not have AES but 6200 and 6300 series do.

Actually I think Opteron 6272 is a better upgrade. Much cheaper than Opteron 6380 on ebay and also less power consumption so less cooling problems. Still 16 cores. I bought the Opteron 6276 but I had to limit CPU frequency in bios to about same as Opteron 6272 to avoid overheating. For mining less power consumption might be a better choise anyway.
99  Local / Skandinavisk / Re: Skatt och deklarering i Sverige, kryptohandel on: January 26, 2018, 07:15:21 AM

Regards

Should work but I have not tried myself.
