https://www.heliumlabs.org/v1.0/blog/august-8th-launch-team-spork-keys

The above is a tl;dr of what was talked about in the Slack over the two weeks.

The launch team is currently reviewing the code to make sure the ledger transfer and chain launch will work out as intended.

Aka more delays

Just stop it! No more hyping up a dead horse. Wake me up of hlm is at $100 bucks a token

No dead horses here really. I'll make a post like this every now and then to keep people up to date. GJ on the trust rating btw.

I wish I could give you a better prediction on release, but I can't. The launch team still needs to deliver that code and that could be today or a week from now. Richy is in talks with them on it. After that is a 1-2 week PoW to PoS closed burn to 20160 blocks. During that time the Core Team (not me) will talk with Cryptopia and set a launch date. I'm not in those Core Team meetings, so I can only give you info I have on hand. As soon as the ball moves further I'll drop a note or Teela will drop one here.

August and still nothing. Good scam
they created a wallet for over a year

Such comment shows that you don't know what it costs to create a decent wallet. And it hasn't been just the wallet, the ideal configuration for the chain has also been researched and they have worked hard to code the change from PoW to PoS correctly. And they have done all this voluntarily, without receiving a dollar or having a single HLM.

Many other projects would have killed for having such people on their team, so to underestimate their work seems an insult to everything they have done. The launch has suffered delays and could have been handled differently, but there are still people working very hard on the project and Helium isn't a big company with a large ICO that can burn money with futile expenses.

I agree, for an airdrop coin made without any ico funding by volunteer devs you can't expect a money back guarantee ... No wait, you can, HLM cost us nothing, remember, so we're all entitled to a full refund at any time!
Some got it free and many bought spreadcoin to obtain it free and then the price crash they lost money now they wish to recover through HLM but over a year later still no wallet and the project change hands so it took longer, i think they are doing the PIVX code for the wallet.

I remember last year when spreadcoin surged in price because of the Helium's snapshot. But the thing is that Helium is not even out yet after one year so maybe there are maybe people out there who get burned for buying SPR at the top

Its been an exciting ride indeed. The good part is though that everybody that was in the airdrop will get their share. Whether Helium will be successful in the future remains to be seen of course. But all the people who've been tirelessly working on it over the last year are determined to deliver a quality product. You'd be amazed at how many hours of skilled and specialized labor are involved with properly launching a crypto project.

since I understand that the company has already completed the payment, I see that the topic was created more than a year ago, I looked at your coins on stock exchanges and was not found anywhere, you did not register on the exchange?

Yes the company completed the payment for stock exchange and registered on stock exchange.

Helium will go live on Cryptopia once everything is finished.

I saw helium on the cryptopia market, but there was no running. When will trading start ?

yes, this coin already there from few months ago my friend,, and no body know when the this coin can be tradeable there,,
i hope in the near time

in a few weeks - launch team is finishing up work then Cryptopia will give us the date of launch.

hopefully not in few weeks, but few days again this coin will be launch,,

Fortunately it is not up to you. But up to people like faetos.

In other news: RzeroD made a blockexplorer and it is here: https://www.heliumchain.info//#/

It is currently exploring testnet and shows marketinfo from SPR.

Back in the days when this project has potentials , I kept my SPR for the snapshot of HLM. When I had noticed that the price of SPR were very high I was able to sell it thinking HLM will be available cheaper as time goes by. Well, my instinct was right all along . To my surprise until to this date no wallet for HLM exists. Don't get me wrong the vision of Helium is highly potentials with enormous opportunity to grow.

If you just want to check your snapshot balance you can use these wallet builds: https://github.com/heliumchain/helium/releases/tag/v0.14.6

Testnet is live.

Main net will go live once everything is ready.

By popular demand, another blog post:

https://www.heliumlabs.org/v1.0/blog/july-10th-last-hurdles

This took a while since there was a very very long list of things to be checked off and since things move fast and dynamically anything posted today would have been irrelevant a day later already.

@chiyenbtre our developers are currently working on finalizing everything. The wallets posted are not far off from the eventual final release so you can check them out and give them a swing on testnet.

There is no date for mainnet release. I've heard its getting closer every day though.

I think the 0.04 BTC you offered to use our name on on your website is a bit miserly really. I mean this is a community run project and there are a lot of costs that'll need to be covered.

0.5 BTC would sound a lot more fair to everyone involved here.

I was starting to get excited by the updates and progress, then I just saw Q3 this year.  So it looks like it is going to be a while still.  I will go back to sleep and keep checking back.  It is a shame so much momentum for this was lost.  I hope Helium can regain some of that mojo for the launch.

Q3 is due next week Smiley
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: June 25, 2018, 12:08:01 AM

you will - we are going to launch this. We're cleaning up and getting ready for Cryptopia. I was really pleased with how well everything worked on mainnet during the trial. I'm in the process now of adding more seed nodes and rolling back the trial code that Graham put in. He's a true wizard and without him this would have gone nowhere.

OK, could we get an update - if possible with a rough timeline - please?

In a project such as this deadlines are bad. They'll give people false expectations and put the volunteer devs under pressure.

To answer the question: we've been running main net trials for a good 2 weeks nows. Everything seems to be working more or less and all the errors and funky stuffs are being addressed.

But the guys currently having a go at it wont settle for 'more or less' so they'll code until they've got everything right.

Rough timeline: Q3 2018

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: June 19, 2018, 12:19:35 PM
Mainnet testing is going great. We successfully switched from PoW to PoS to prepare to getting this on Cryptopia. Things are going really, really well. Mainnet is healthy and so far things are looking good.
It should be listed on cryptopia since it is the only exchange that support the fork but if cryptopia will ask for a listing fee that would be another problem for the devs since helium has no ICO to fund the high listing fee.

Karmashark took care of the listing in summer last year (he is to be reimbursed from the treasury) so that is all taken care of. Cryptopia went out of their way to accommodate us during the snapshot. They even reserved a staff member for it. Poor guy slept about 3 hours a day in the days before and after the snapshot. The high volume raped the SPR network and they were there in the Slack answering questions, spinning up nodes and hacking away at things to keep transactions going. So nothing but praise for Cryptopia and the way they handled things.

As mentioned by faetos: yesterday's trial appeared to be a success. We witnessed the POW mining (necessary to kick start the chain) successfully switch to POS. This is a milestone. I'm not part of the dev team but do understand that this isn't a vanilla PIVX fork. We'll start with the ledger transfer in place (the SPR airdrop), a treasury in place and need to POW mine a POS coin to get it all working as intended.

...Calm down guys, that is a simple misunderstanding.

Don't mind me folks. Admittedly I can get rather snarky on these bitcointalk forums,
as I've come to learn it's a jungle out there (though not so much this particular thread)
so I fight fire with fire.  Keep the noobs/trolls in line, and that sort of thing, lol.
Nothing personnel mind you. The Helium community is awesome.
(well there might be the occasional exception... cough cough.. duzy..ahem.. cough...)

I'll side with sirazimuth here. I think he's been around for the last 100 pages of this topic and he has seen stupidity unimaginable yet soldiered on. So it is understandable he gets snarky every now and then Smiley

Telegram has merits when compared to Slack in terms of a communication channel (hence some people in the community just made one of their own) but it is rather ass as an overall community platform. The community took a vote a while ago and as a result a Discord was made ready and prepped. Since everyone actively involved in the project has, at the moment, enough stuff to deal with already to not want the hassle of a platform migration in between and on top it was deemed sensible to wait with the move until everything regarding the network launch is taken care of. Which will be soon of course, but you knew that already Smiley

3. In regards to the dual Helium entities, we have been aware of each other for some time. They are a hardware focused IoT manufacturer founded in 2013 and are out of the United States.

wow...
well thats news to me.  So who owns the Helium brand? Or there's now 2 entities? Thats gonna get confusing,
especially since they are both blockchain related and  tokens/coins are issued.

From what I gathered about the IoT manufacturer that, rather recently, wants to incorporate blockchain into their IoT products: they're not really fishing in the same pond. I think consensus within the team and community is to just leave this be for the moment and deal with it when and if the time comes. There are more important things to deal with at the moment.

I'll see if I can post another TL:DR later this week. For now rest assured that code is being coded and doings are being done. PIVX latest update is rather significant however and since Helium will launch with up to spec, clean, pretty and working code this means a fair bit of extra work for those amongst us who are currently head butting their keyboards and biting their toenails trying to get everything sorted.

Royally late, but here is what has been scraped together from the Slack over the last three weeks (and a wee bit more)

https://www.heliumlabs.org/v1.0/blog/june-6th-general-update

There are a lot of things going on (and as a result lacking from the above TL:DR) so for the full story do refer to the Slack: https://heliumslack.herokuapp.com/ or the (community) Telegram: https://t.me/HeliumChain

P.S. By the looks of it anyone who made the mistake of sending SPR to a paper wallet while using the non-compressed address will be able to use the associated private key to access their HLM airdrop coins regardless. If this has happened to you: do join Slack and I'll do my best to sort you out.

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: June 06, 2018, 10:52:19 PM
I adjusted the OP, now it says...

WARNING!

Be careful when creating paper wallets or addresses with third party sites, like walletgenerator.net or universalwalletgenerator.net.
There have been cases where people sent SPR to the non-compressed public address.
This has fatal consequences since SPR uses compressed public addresses ONLY.

Always send SPR to the compressed public address, or else your SPR are lost forever.

7RGM5x1BR2d6aD3VDSnf47tmW9S5M5P1CzCr6S3eYfScU9jJZw7

...

...

...

If you want to recover the SPR in your address SQtakqnKGKUZLK5UhRqETkWAZp6P4nZ7UG,
you would need to find a new private key where SQtakqnKGKUZLK5UhRqETkWAZp6P4nZ7UG is the compressed public address , not the uncompressed address.
That's the only way to recover your SPR, but also impossible.  Sad

Georgem pardon me for intruding and do forgive me the insolence, I am fully aware of the sensitivities here.

I was messaged by one of the unfortunate souls who, per mistake, sent their SPR to a non-compressed address. As result of how the Helium snapshot/ledger balance transfer was magicked together it looks like anyone who accidentally put their SPR in very cold storage (used the non-compressed address) will be able to use the associated privkey to claim their Helium airdrop coins regardless. Please direct any further questions regarding this to the Helium topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.0 or the Slack mentioned in that topic.

unfortunately I'm not strong in this topic, so I have a question, why on your site I did not see the team? So it should be? this is normal?

The website mentioned in the OP is no longer up to date and will be replaced by a new one soon (tied in with the network launch) Karma made an extensive update a bit over a month ago which is more or less accurate in terms of who is doing what: https://medium.com/@jasonmcassidy/helium-pre-launch-update-853a6d161382
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: June 06, 2018, 05:14:54 PM
Graham is working on including some of the upstream PIVX code into current master code base to fix some of the issues that we ran into with creating the Windows binaries. He'll then merge that and the other branch for our working codebase. We'll run through and clean it up and begin testing it on the network. Once that is complete and we're satisfied with the results we'll start prepping for launch on cryptopia.
Taking time to perfect something instead of releasing is the wrong right way in software cryptocurrency.

The above is my personal opinion of course. I do understand the frustration from a lot of people here but from what I can see this will be released when it is finished.

I apologize if this question was asked before What is telegram group

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=What+is+telegram+group

what fucked up answer is that? maybe u could say: there is no telegram group? very simple ...

There is a community ran Telegram group here: https://t.me/HeliumChain

All the fun is (still) happening in Slack but if you just want to stay up to date with what is happening generally the Telegram will probably sort you out.
