81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: are you afraid of the current market situation. on: December 21, 2018, 06:58:35 PM
There will be a rebound, don't worry. The best thing about the bear market is that it's weeding out the weak ones out of crypto.
82  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Real Donald Trump Exposed... Who is He? on: December 21, 2018, 06:57:35 PM
He's just a guy who said this about his daughter:
“Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father….”

Nothing to see here.

This is one of the most yikes things about him.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking about sell? Or invest more? on: December 21, 2018, 06:55:59 PM
That is a difficult choice, this is a situation that forces you to determine your future destiny. my advice if you want to increase investment, you should not use money from borrowing. because the risk is big, indeed the market will definitely improve, but will the coin you choose definitely make a profit? that's my advice.
money or capital from borrowing is not recommended as the main capital in investing, because it will burden us morally, if the investment turns out to be a loss, then we will fall twice.have to replace the money we borrow, and the money cannot make a profit for us

This. Never invest any money that you can't afford to lose. We've had a case when a guy got his crypto that he bought from a loan stolen. To say he was unhappy is to say nothing.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise of Stablecoins: Are They the Crypto Market's Future? on: December 21, 2018, 06:43:53 PM
Stablecoins are a great option for keeping your wealth in as a hedge, IMO. Just look at Tether - while everything kept falling, it stayed afloat and even grew a little bit.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $3700 Reflection of bull run? on: December 20, 2018, 11:20:09 AM
We have yet to see BTC break $4000. It this happens, maybe we should gearing for the bull run. Hard to say for now.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why People Choose Cryptocurrency? on: December 20, 2018, 11:14:17 AM
A lot of people value their privacy and crypto is their safe haven. Also, there are countries in which the economy is hyper-inflated or otherwise suffering. Crypto is a great tool for those people as well.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves will replace ethereum on: December 20, 2018, 11:09:06 AM
It's hard to say. Waves have a great team and a really cool concept, but I wouldn't bet on it surpassing a mammoth like ETH in terms of market cap and/or price in the nearest future.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe and invest in ICOs? Why? on: December 20, 2018, 11:07:16 AM
The ICO hype is definitely going down, which is understandable, given the reputation ICOs have right now. However, there still might be really cool projects in the future, so it's worth keeping an eye on the market, still.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have to be aware that bitcoin will not last forever on: December 20, 2018, 11:04:03 AM
It's highy likely that Bitcoin will be replaced with a more superior crypto. And it's okay, because everyone knows that Bitcoin's code and overall implementation aren't perfect.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After 2018 slump, Will bounties Die now ? on: December 18, 2018, 04:58:44 PM
When the market comes out of the slump, I'm sure the bounty hunting business will rise back up. Like, a lot of projects are delaying their listings because of the bear market - when things start looking back up, there sure will be more successful bounties.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let your consciousness be alive while hodling on: December 18, 2018, 04:53:01 PM
That is nice advice and i think with such volatile markets and long trends we definitely need to be vigilant and we should keep an eye on our portfolio all the time and re-adjust it according to the situation of the market and secondly we should keep in a percentage of our holdings in fiat or usdt as a hedge.

This. Blind hodling has never done anyone good, but at the same time panic selling hasn't either. Always stay vigilant and attentive, do your research, and you will be successful. Besides, USDT and other stablecoins are great crypto assets to keep your wealth in as a hedge.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption first or Bull run first?? on: December 18, 2018, 04:48:02 PM
Last bull run happened when the adoption level was lower than now, so it's pretty much safe to say that you don't really need adoption for there to be a bull run. It's necessary and welcome, of course, but not at all mandatory.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lessons from crypto in 2018 on: December 18, 2018, 04:45:56 PM
Hold out till the bottom to buy the dip, and be patient and optimistic.
94  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guys calm down and relax. Its going to be fine. on: December 18, 2018, 04:42:41 PM
I am sure that bitcoin will not disappear, but because of fear of loss that makes people panic in this condition. I think we need a vacation for now.
For sure you're right... this bitcoin will stay with us as we have still huge transactions everyday. This is just a major correction and sooner this will rise to the stardom again. Be patient always.
don't you see the bitcoin transaction volume getting smaller? To be honest I'm very worried about this problem, although many say this is only a correction but in my opinion bitcoin is in danger.

I don't think it's true, though. Bitcoin and crypto in general aren't going anywhere - yes, there has been a bit of a slump this past month, but, all in all, good times are coming.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have I joined at the wrong time? on: December 18, 2018, 12:16:00 PM
Oh yes, now is definitely the right time to hop in! Given that there was a small bounce yesterday, it's highly likely it will be all the way up from now.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pity for those who bought at ATH on: December 18, 2018, 12:07:15 PM
Well, people thought there would be another ATH, even higher than what was happening in December. Although, to remember the story of a guy who convinced his entire bar to buy LTC at $300...press F to pay respects
97  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changenow.io selective scamming on: November 29, 2018, 10:53:01 AM
Hello everyone. We're here to deliver some explanations.

I lost 221 BTG to these scammers, worth ~$100k at the time, nearly worthless now.
Here is a tx https://btgexplorer.com/tx/9202e037c052a48fac2f7d10e58bb41d5dc0e0bced00d009740e9014b7479471
Was supposed to get ~11 BTC back, never received.

Hello. I've checked with our PM and he told me that in November 2017 there was a person who wrote a negative review on Trustpilot about missing 221 BTG. They were invited to customer support to get a refund but they never returned. Could you please turn to our customer support? We will stage a refund as soon as possible.

As for our alleged anonymity: we stopped being anonymous quite a while ago when our policy changed. We don't advertise ourselves as anonymous and it is stated in our FAQ, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy. All our customers automatically accept them when using ChangeNOW.

Initially, you marketed yourselves as an anonymous exchange and that was what most people used your service under the impression that your service guaranteed anonymity.

I think that this is misleading advertising at best and very shady business operations in general.

Why are you not able to return the funds which Privcoin sent you back to the same sending address? Since you are not exchanging any funds but rather just conducting a crypto to crypto transfer, to the best of my knowledge, that should not be something that is illegal in any state. I would also trust that Privcoin's claim that there are no specific legislation preventing you to complete the exchange to be true.

Anyhow, seems like all of these instant exchangers (shapeshift, changenow, changelly) have all become stricter with their KYC with Changenow and Changelly's reputation being much worse. I would be extremely careful about dealing with all of them.

We marketed ourselves as anonymous as long as is was safe for us. Afterwards, when the market rules and legal regulations changed, we dropped the anonymity and stopped marketing ourselves as so. Right now, ChangeNOW is advertised as registration-free because this is the most we can afford to do to let our customers retain thair privacy. When a customer is stopped for KYC, they can rightfully (but explicitely!) refuse to submit their documents. In that case, they receive a refund subtracting the network fee.
No one from Privcoin came to our support to request a refund. Actually, we have never received any messages from Privcoin ever since the situation occurred.

Hope this was clear enough.

99  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ChangeNow.io (Evercode Lab) - Scam. Illegally holding of 100 BCH (11 bitcoins). on: September 10, 2018, 12:54:59 PM
ChangeNOW.io’s Public Statement: Our Stance on AML/KYC

ChangeNOW.io has been on the market for more than a year now and has earned a reputation of a reliable service with great rates and an amazing support team. We have made a good amount of partnerships with big exchanges, wallets, and exchange aggregators.

We can say that our service has come a long way: what used to be a tiny anonymous exchanger is now a big resource with more than 150 supported coins. We have also partnered with a service which allows fiat-to-crypto purchases, are constantly connecting additional exchanges and still are far from done.

Our service is constantly growing and ever evolving, and we tend to take the rules and requirements of the market concerning the activity of cryptocurrency services really seriously.

A number of changes has been made; for instance, we had dropped our anonymity back in April and implemented AML/KYC at the same time in order to comply to the requirements of exchanges, regulators, and legal authorities.

We are aware of the fact that for a certain part of the crypto community this might be upsetting, and we understand them completely - we are all children of Satoshi Nakamoto, after all.

However, we’ve always favored fair play, which is why we updated our policies and accepted the new way of life.

We would like to release a statement to keep the community updated on our workflow and the development of our service. We believe it’s our duty to the crypto community as a whole and our clients in particular to be transparent about our operations and to let everyone know what’s going on under the hood, so to say; this is especially relevant in the light of current events, that have shown us that we need to provide our customers with more information about ChangeNOW.

So, here’s the matters that are taking place at the time of writing this:

One of our customers has been carrying out a full-blown defamation campaign to harm ChangeNOW’s reputation and ruin our operations.

As a service, we are constantly growing, subsequently attracting more and more attention. We do our best to reply to every tweet and every single message we get, since we find it really great that the community trusts us and is willing to discuss our platform.

Unfortunately, this amount of attention means that trolls are bound to show up. We can’t stand it when our clients have problems and/or misunderstandings, therefore we try our hardest in order to make our platform as transparent as possible.

Let’s get back to AML and KYC for a little bit.

KYC stands for Know Your Customer. AML is for Anti-Money Laundering.

Cryptocurrencies are often considered to be used for illegal operations that allow you to withdraw money from the shadows. In order to prevent this, it is necessary to take measures to ensure customer verification and security of financial transactions.

KYC/AML policy is used in many countries. The main scope of its usage are the activities related to the conduct of questionable transactions.

States are doing everything possible to control and limit the activities of such organizations, and to introduce them into the framework of the law. The KYC/AML policy remains the most common method for this. Its application convinces the regulatory authorities of the absolute legality of the transaction carried out by you.

Thus, you confirm that you are a law-abiding citizen and the state has no reason to address any claims towards you.

You can read some info on KYC and AML here:

ChangeNOW’s KYC procedure is no different from that of any other crypto exchanger.

Our risk management system can define a transaction as suspicious based on a certain set of criteria, among which are the size of a transaction, the wallet address, the funds’ origin, etc.

When the RMS sends us a suspicious transaction alert, we handle the case manually. Our support team does their best to make the procedure as quick and painless for the client as possible.

Here’s how it goes:

As we’ve already stated, each KYC case is handled individually. We will apply a set of standard procedures to our KYC clients, among which are asking a client to send a minimal set of documents that will allow us to confirm their identity and provide the source of funds. If we still have questions to the client, we might ask them for a face-to-face conversation via a video call.

This procedure is the best practice around the market and most reputable exchanges, exchangers, and other crypto-related services follow it. We in particular have several KYC cases a month, and usually they tend to get resolved quickly (mostly because our clients are great!)

So, why are we telling you all this?

We have decided to make this information public in order to give the community some insight on what we have already done so that the entire process is more understandable and transparent; also, we want to get our company’s position across.

Without a doubt, we are deeply chagrined by the fact that one client has been trying his best to ruin our lives.

We are ready to admit that our transparency policy is still a work in progress regarding the KYC procedure: we have expanded our FAQ, adding a special section on AML and KYC (available here: r/https://changenow.io/faq#kyc), as well as a notification and a link to our AML/KYC info. As we grow, we are going to add more tweaks and features to to our website for convenience of our users.

Some people might really do have things to hide, and, as we respect their privacy, we believe that such clients have the right to be informed about the fact that they might be asked for identification.

We aren’t going to keep this client’s funds. They’re stored on a cold wallet created specifically for his case.

We are going to continue our operations as honestly, transparently, and conveniently for those of our clients who, just like us, respect the law and are ready to follow the rules of the market.

We won’t let shady blackmailers spoil our and our customers’ joy from the crypto market’s development and are ready to do whatever it takes to make sure the market is free of crooks.

What about the case described in this statement and what are we planning to do next?

The client in question is surely going to continue his activities on the Internet.

We, in turn, are preparing legal claims which we are going to submit to Interpol, Europol, and other authorities, along with the info we have on the client and the cold wallet address on which the funds are kept for the time being. After that we are going to wait for their official reply. In no circumstances are we going to keep this user’s funds for ourselves.

ChangeNOW is going to keep the community updated on the situation because we stand for all things that are good and against all things that are bad.
