Pinpins, I'm having a little difficulty trying to mine with my S9. I wanted to mine sha256 algo, and get paid in Privcy (x13 algo coin) in the password I tried c=PRIVCY,mc=SHA256 and that doesn't seem to work for me, but if I use c=PRIVCY,mc=PARTY (sha256 coin) it works. Can I not autoswitch between all sha256 coins and autoexchange to PRIVCY? Maybe I'm just doing something stupid wrong (It wouldn't be the first time) Thank you for your help, and for having a pretty awesome pool!
Update: I figured it out. Feeling kinda dumb. Just had to remove the mc= part. I shouldn't try to figure stuff out till Ive had a couple cups of coffee. Working like a charm now.

Hi

you should use sha256.mine.zergpool.com:3333 -p c=PRIV

Thank you Pinpins. Working great now!

Hi Pinpins Any chance you could add Privcy coin? It'd be a cool coin to autoexchange with.

Hi,

Can you point me to announcement of it
Oops. Missed that. Looks like you found it though. Thank you Pinpins!

I just upgraded to 5.2.1, I can't benchmark the new Cryptonight variants (they are enabled on general options and profit profile), is that normal? do I need to do something else?
You'll only be able to benchmark them if there's a pool for those coins available in your list. Many of those coins/algos don't have a pool on the default profit switching pools. Good luck to you!
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to start Mining for the Newbie on: June 20, 2018, 10:17:26 PM
I'd be happy to offer you some advice. Remember that at first it will be a learning experience, so you will not make as much money untill you gain knowledge, but you are buying an education. There are a couple of ways you can go to start. For the ultimate ease of operation an ASIC is easier to configure. The downsides are they can become obsolete quicker, they use more power, and they are loud. Now if you are comfortable with building a computer, a GPU rig could be a better option. They can mine multiple algorithms which keeps them from becoming obsolete. They are quiet, they don't use as much electric, and they can be used for other things. Also they keep their value much longer because they have other uses besides mining. Now as far as models, for ASICS, I would say either BTC or L3++ by bitmain would be good. For GPU rigs, I'd suggest you start with Nvidia as it's easier. I'd go with either 1080 or 1080ti since they do the most algorithms, and should hold value the longest time. If you find the idea of mining with GPU attractive but you don't feel comfortable building a computer you could start with buying a complete system with one or two GPUS (Newegg might have something acceptable, but their deals change daily, you'll have to check the site) Later if you like it you could build a second more serious rig and use the first one to monitor your operation (dual use). Remember just don't expect that the first thing you buy is going to make you rich. There is a learning curve, and no matter how much you read, you just have to jump in at some point to start learning for yourself from direct experience. Good luck to you, and if there's any way I can help, let me know!

█▓▒░-< zpool.ca is now fully integrated at algopools.com. >-░▒▓█
There you can search for every available algorithm and/or your preferred coin and choose the corresponding mining pool.

Feel free to add new coins or algos (red contact button on the top).

Kind regards,
Vincent
Do we actually add the coin/algo or is it just a form to request you to add new coins? I'm just started mining PRiVCY yesterday, and I feel really good about it, but I'd be a little more comfortable not putting all my eggs in one basket and having Awesome Miner profit switch, and just set my payout coin on Zpool as Privcy, and leaving the other auto exchange pools set to BTC.

Glad to see this post back up. There aren't many POS/POW hybrid coins out there, and having the airdrop is like the cherry on top. I really hope there isn't any funny business, and the post stays up this time. I can see individual comments being deleted, but the whole post being removed seems...wrong. If the coin wasn't popular and looked like it wasn't going anywhere, nobody would pay attention to it and the post would stay forever. This coin has a loud buzz around it, so it would be a shame to have that as a reason to be denied visibility. The crypto space could really use some winners, and some "The guy who got rich" stories right now. Jealousy is like poison, it will consume you. Like my mom always says, "If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say  anything at all."  I myself like when people are successful, even if it isn't me. I'll be watching this project with great interest, and mentioning it around all my circles.  I wish you all the best of luck!

@patrike any chance of a linux agent in the near future or a partnership with SMOS?
The work to make Remote Agent running on Linux has recently started, but it's not a small implementation task. Expect that it will be a number of months before the first version is ready because there are many other priorities as well.
That's great to hear, as that would really bring down the cost of each system build, and add stability to the system. (no uninvited windows updates and the whole image file could be backed up intact). Great work as always Patrike! (I'll get that log file emailed to you when I get back in front of my rig btw)

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: June 19, 2018, 01:09:49 AM
Hello Patrike. I somehow got a virus on my main rig. I was unable to get it cleared out, (It kept respawning a day later), and I decided it would be wisest to backup my config, format the drive and reinstall Windows 10 Pro. So, after reinstalling all my drivers and getting everything set back up, I was back off mining again. So, my problem is that it will stop mining and says mining process failed. This happens only on my custom software. The first couple times it was windows defender deleting Excavator, and Claymore cryptonight cpu miner. I disabled Windows defender, and then it happened again with Excavator. I went to the Excavator folder, and the .exe was still there this time. I clicked it manually, and it opened right up. I tried again from Awesome miner, and still no dice. So, I checked the diagnostics, and it said "file not found". So, I went back into the profit profile, and pointed it to Excavator again. Now it worked again. Weird. So this repeated itself 5 or 6 times over the corse of the night with Excavator, Claymore Cryptonote CPU miner, and Nevermore miner. (The custom ones I installed myself) I woke up to the miner stopped also. In all cases repointing to the exe file fixes it. Hoping you have some advice for me, I need to keep this rig up. Thank you for all your hard work and assistance.

Update:This has been happening all day. I noticed a couple things that might help identify what's going wrong here. When I hit the button to enter the screen where you specify the path for the mining software, it appears that the correct location is selected in the box already, but when I hit the button to navigate to the software, it starts me out at the location of the last software that couldn't be found. For example, if excavator won't start and I help it find the excavator file, then an hour later it may try to switch to nevermore, and it can't find it. I go to help it out, and it shows the correct nevermore path in the box, but when I go to specify the path, it starts me in the excavator folder, I correct it, then an hour later the cpu miner (on a seperate profile btw) can't find the Cryptonote cpu miner, and I go to show it the location and it starts me out in the Nevermore folder, etc. Hopefully this helps. Thank you.
This sounds like a strange scenario. When you say you had to re-point to the exe-file, was the path at all changed in the text box? Opening the dialog and pointing to the same file again shouldn't make any change to the content of the text box?

When Awesome Miner says that the file wasn't found in the Diagnostics wasn't found, it also lists the exact path and filename it tried to use. If you copy this path and run it, it should be a good indication if any part of the path or the file itself is missing.

The fact that the file browsing dialog is showing another path when you browse is just a UI issue where Awesome Miner doesn't explicitly tell the Windows file dialog to automatically browse to the folder you have specified. Instead the file dialog shows the folder where you where browsing the last time. This doesn't have any impact on the actual path configuration, but I will see if I can improve this UI behavior.
Ok this problem has continued, and I checked the path in the diagnostics. It appears that the problem is that on my previous Windows install, I used my email account for my user name, and when I  reinstalled, for security I used an anonymous account, and Awesome miner is using the old path to the mining software, which is totally understandable, but the problem is that when I correct it the path is remembered for awhile, then after some time eventually it reverts to the old file location, where it will not find the file. Thanks for your help in getting this straightened out.
Hi Patrike. Sorry to keep on about this, but it keeps happening. It keeps trying to go to the old folder address from before I reinstalled Windows, I correct it, and it works for awhile, then out of nowhere it forgets the file location again, and fails to start the mining process, hanging up. It happens with Excavator, Nevermore, Claymore cryptonight miner, and even CCminer. It's happened 4 times today, and I woke up to it not mining today, and saturday morning. Thanks for any ideas you can suggest.

Rejected shares error help with awesome miner!
I am setting up Baikal BK X units through awesome miner. When I input the mining pool information directly onto the miner's dashboard (under the Miner tab through IP address) the miner works great and mining pools accept the shares. When I input that same data through awesome miner and tell the same Baikal BK X to mine to that mining pool, it has an 85%+ shares rejected rate. Tried adding /#xnsub, tried removing and adding the stratum+tcp:// at the beginning and still get the same result. After I restart and it goes back to the mining pools I saved on the Baikal's dashboard it starts working again just fine, so there is something that awesome miner is doing to the pool URL, or other programming that is making the pools then reject the shares. The pools I am using in awesome miner Nicehash, Mining Pool Hub, Zpool... examples

stratum+tcp://quark.usa.nicehash.com:3345

stratum+tcp://hub.miningpoolhub.com:12016

I don't think Awesome miner can assign the extranonce support itself. On the Baikal miners it's turned on or off by a checkmark next to the pool entry. What I do is I have all the pools I use entered on the Baikal itself. (I haven't found any limit to the number of pools on the Baikal itself, I have over 30 on one miner.) Then I make a Profit profile for that miner on Awesome miner, and I enter all the pools I have on the Baikal into the profit profile. If any of the pools aren't default pools in Awesome miner you need to add them through online services (doesn't sound like the case here). After your done Awesome miner will profit switch between the pools saved on the Baikal, and it will use the extranonce support since it's using pools from it's own list, and just changing the priority. When setup this way you can go through the pool list via Awesome miner, and prioritize or disable pools, but I've noticed the Baikals will randomly restart and forget what you've told them, so I just use the prioritize sometimes when it looks like the best option isn't being chosen. (You can peek in online services for your profile to see.) Good luck to you!

On a managed profit miner is there a way to disable ethereum dual mining, but keep ethereum by itself with accurate profit calculation?
What I did was disable each of the dual mining algorithms on the profit profile for the miner in question. They'll never be the most profitable by themselves anyway, and if that ever changes for one of them, you could always reenable them.

You got me thinking and I think I found a simpler solution (or at least one that I like more): just go to the profit profile, Ethereum and set the dual mining hashrate to 0.
Thanks
No problem. Yeah, that'll definitely work too. Have a great weekend!

I found a bug, in the form where add the Jons urls of Coincalculator, just let add a single line, I can only add a coin, it seems that the properties of the Text Box area are not well defined in programming. Try to enter a url, and then try adding a second line, do not let the line break.

Yes, same for me. Any keyboard shortcuts for it?
Look at the post immediately after the one you quoted.

Hello Patrike. Thanks for all your recent work. Awesome Miner just keeps getting more awesome! I am having a frustrating problem however, and hoping I can get it figured out. So, I just started building a new rig. It is a Ryzen 2700X CPU with AMD RX 480 GPU (only have the first GPU, the second one is on it's way and I will be adding one a week till full) I made two miners, (RX 480 rig GPU, and RX 480 rig CPU) and two profiles AMD GPU, and CPU2. I started mining, and after awhile I noticed that both miners were mining Cryptonight V7, but one was mining on Nicehash, and the other on Miningpoolhub. I thought it was strange, but I just let it go for awhile. But after a few hours, I started looking at the online services, and it would show one of the two (nicehash, or miningpoolhub) as clearly higher in revenue, yet even when restarted manually, I couldn't get them to mine on the same pool as each other. At the moment Nicehash was reporting a higher rate, so I tried disabling Miningpoolhub from the CPU profile to force them to both mine Cryptonight V7 on Nicehash, but when restarted, then it went to the next algo in the list (I think it was yescrypt zpool) which had much lower earnings (-25%). So, the next thing I tried, was switching which one had Miningpoolhub disabled, and CPU started mining on Cryptonight V7 Nicehash, and now the GPU profile mined on Nicehash too, but on Equihash. (I couldn't get them to both mine CV7 on the same pool no matter what I tried) I gave up for the night, but then in the morning I noticed it was still mining Nicehash equihash on GPU, and Nicehash CV7 on CPU. I checked the online services for the GPU, and it listed Equihash $1.05, and Ethereum $1.39. So I hit restart, and it just went back to Equihash. Hmmm. So, I tried disabling Equihash for the profile, and upon restart it started mining Cryptonight old. (Still wouldn't mine CV7 on same pool either) I then tried disabling every algorithm except Ethereum, and when I tried to start, I got an error that there were no valid pools selected for the profit switcher. I activated Miningpoolhub, and tried again, but same thing, no pools available. Not sure what the deal is. I just benchmarked it last night. I did it first on quick, then followed up with a second round of medium for Phoenix, and Claymore, with Phoenix coming out ahead with 30.5Mhs. The behavior I'm expecting is whatever is the highest in earnings on the online services page should be the pool that the profit switcher switches to if you hit restart. Not sure why it's so resistant to going to the pool I want. I like how on the Baikal miners there is an option for prioritize in the pool area, but I'd be happy if I could just get the top item in the online services to mine. Thank you for any suggestions you might have to get it working right.
I think this is related to the feature where Awesome Miner can detect pools where no accepted shares are produced within a certain amount of time. I would suggest to disable this and give it a try one more time.

Go to the Options dialog, Profit switching section, and uncheck "Ignore pools with no accepted shares".

If a pool isn't producing the accepted shares, it will be marked as failed and the miner will move on to the second most profitable pool. This can result in that one of your miner isn't on the same pool as the others as the failure is per miner.

I would also recommend that you right click on a miner and select View Details when you have question about the profit switching decisions. If a pool is marked as a failure it's also indicated here.

Hi Patrike. I finally had a chance to try this out yesterday, and you were right. It was the "ignore pools with no accepted shares" option. So, since the trigger is independent per miner, could we have the settings for this on each miner separately? I'd rather not turn it off for all the miners as it's a pretty useful feature on my 1080ti rig. If that isn't possible how about if we could just specify a higher number of minutes? I think if it could be set to 12 or 13 minutes (maybe 15 at the most) it wouldn't trigger, as even when set on 10, it took many hours (6 or more) for it to block the CryptonightV7 pool. Thank you very much for your suggestion, I am glad to have it working with the option deselected at the moment.

Hello Pinpins,

A substancial amount of money (about $700) has disappeared from my unpaid balance yesterday without explanation, it's basically all the Deeponion that I mined that day.

Please PUT BACK MY MONEY on the balance or send it directly to my address.

When you take that much money from one of your biggest miners at least an explanation is due. For all I know my money was STOLEN by the pool.

If for some technical reason on your side your pool has mined incorrectly (I am not aware of any fork) I expect a reimbursement and proper communication like proper pools do.

I have suspended my operations on your pool until this is sorted.

Regards,

Yeah, some explanation at least would be nice. I lost at least .001 BTC on this as well. Very disappointing.

Well, after a couple cups of coffee, I went back to work on the miner. With a fresh set of eyes, I discovered what was eluding me last night, and I feel a little dumb. Apparently 2 of the miners were showing up reversed, and I was adjusting the wrong one. I made myself a little chart and mapped everything out, and started working one at a time, and had some great successes. Final scores are 27.9 (This one is my display card, so that's good, 30.3 (Samsung card), 29.2 (Hynix non display), and 28.1 (Asus mining Rx470). Results are better then I had expected when I started the project, and I'm happy. Now on to build a 6 GPU RX480 8GB rig next. Thank you all for your help, it is appreciated, and I am always happy to give back and help someone else when I see the chance. Have a great day, and happy mining!
