81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 04, 2014, 09:44:05 AM
I know this will have been asked before but for some reason I'm not getting any results back.

What is the UK VAT on Average for the 2X S3 ?

Thanks

Around GBP 110-120 IIRC (edit: including the GBP 11 brokerage fee for UPS, others may vary).

Thanks for confirming

At $1000 Tax value at UK customs - Not worth me even making an order anymore - The higher you tax an item harder it is to pass customs.

Bitmain should allow the buyer to have some input on the value at least for the EU or UK!!

Hopefully as Bitmain says the price will be within a ROI market.

Hopefully we will get some overclock specs soon as well - Anyone worked out what the possible max running speed could be for all chips ?

But pretty cool - S2 Upgrades to follow as well for July ? should be up to like 2Th/s ?

Thanks

BITMAIN YOU KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM DO YOURSELF AND YOUR CUSTMOMERS A FAVOUR AND SHIP THE CARDS UNINSTALLED.

exactly. wrap the cards separate to be installed on arrival. but of course that would require possibly more space and have them trying to jam all the wrapped cards into the case creating problems of the cars corners eating thru the packing and damaging other things.

you would think after 4 items arrive damaged they would hire an Ape to toss a shipping box around until the outcome is no damage.

All that needs to be done is adding braces to the card cage at the mid-point and re-evaluating the tolerances between the cards and the card cage.  If one wanted to go the extra mile, one could use the black foam from B2 (or whichever) on the bar that locks the cards down.

Right I suggested something similar. A crossbar and possibly some kind of plexiglass to cover the cards...which also helps with airflow as well as it ducts it better. Cooling is improved.

Or just ship them like ASICMiner - Nice foam in the blades and backplane - Nice bit of DIY hardly diy just simple plug and play but yeah they need to update there design team or package team so much for QC Checks.... Or how it

New price for AntMiner S2 1 TH/s Miner Batch 4: 2459 USD each one, shipping cost included.

Glad to see you have improved the design of batch 4 and secure the cards during shipping.

Hopefully still as planned the 28nm chip is still due to hit early June 05 I think you said in email.

I hope that you ensure batch 1 will be shipped secure and full design is taken into consideration.

Anyway good progress with the S2 in deign wise - it may have taken you 4 batches just to get it going but hope customer will be happier to know that less chance of a brake in transit.

Roll on S3  Grin

This rubber padding might have something to do with my miner coming in 1 piece.

Thanks for the update, I would still prefer to have my blades shipped all together in single boxes. I don't mind building also saves time at Bitmain end.

Could this be a possible option on the website ? would any other users agree ?

Not sure if Bitmain would take a group of concerns on board rather than just a few users so should take a count or a vote ?

At the end of the day it saves them hassle with RMA and pissed off customer if they just ship it how the customer asks.

Looks like its down Sad

I managed to buy 1 Antminer before the price reduction to 0.55, will it get dispatched within 24hrs as advertised or after 4th of May just like the new priced miners?

All people must stop doing this crazy sell off.
Site crashed because all you tryin buy something which will be so chaep within days that you all will cry "or i should wait few more days"...

Keep hitting F5 this will help u muppets.

I don't think you have any idea how websites work if you think that we've crashed it. Plus I don't understand why do you care about other people's money, are you an independent financial adviser or something?

Agreed, Servers are not designed to just suddenly go offline when a surge of traffic hits it. Could be a number of reasons or its just down while they update the website saves it getting spammed. Also he thinks he is big adviser on here  Grin Grin

Found this pretty different method for hosting S1 mounting wise

I considered that.  I assume you reversed the fans so they are blowing up?

M

From what I can see these have 2 fans per ant - sadly not my setup *I wish*

They have another 5 rows like this - I was trying to count how many he had but lost count -

The noise and power draw must be CRAZY
