81  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked Help Plz! on: August 20, 2014, 07:00:56 AM
Any update to this... has OP gotten his account back?

There is one thing I can definitely guarantee you - Quickseller is not going to go after you criminally or civilly.

"Your honor, I'm on this Bitcoin forum (oh, you mean that darknet anonymous serial killer drug dealer fake money?) and I buy and sell member accounts so people can impersonate and scam people, and/or promote illegal gambling websites. Well, some user tried to get back the $5 account that was hacked and sold to me! Put the original user in jail!"

I'd say that it accurate. Screw the people selling accounts.. let them rot in negative trust hell. It is not Zedicus' fault that the hacker sold his account, and he should not be punished for it. Maybe this will help teach people a lesson not to buy and sell accounts.

Give Zedicus back his account!!

so do we know vod2's real identity? i'd be willing to mark it red, if there's enough proof. trying to impersonate someone in the community here is kind of a big deal to me. good thing vod2 is terrible at devising a believable plot.

Okay... well I have an easy question for you. You and I shared a PM or two. What was the subject?
We were discussing the best child porn websites.

Yip... you're just some angry scammer trying to get Vod back because you were caught I take it. Well, you FAILED - AGAIN buddy. I'm curious to find out who you are now.

Here is where I posted that bitcoin address:

Looks like the hacker deleted the post.

Let's look closer: [ quote author=Vod link=topic=7047786.msg84046953 date=1358508111 ]

The above (valid) quote, linking to your post: [ quote author=vod2 link=topic=747786.msg8447674#msg8447674 date=1408513174 ]

This topic has an ID of 747786, while the one you quoted has an ID of 7077486. All you've done is added a zero to the topic ID in order to break the quote, to hide the fact that the psot you're linking to never existed (or rather, it doesn't yet, as we're 6.3 million threads away from reaching that ID). In addition, you've gotten the link format slightly wrong, as it's missing the anchor that causes the browser to jump to the correct post on the page. Not exactly the work of a hacker, unless you're both time travelers.

HAHAHAHA! Excellent - totally needed that laugh  Cheesy

Yeah, but I thought the scammer would be a newbie.

You just posted that info three days ago.

LOL - epic FAIL! Since when the hell does Vod greet us? While others might think this was on the brilliant side of the bell curve, it actually pretty dumb. Whatever your issue, you should've gotten a lil bit more practice before executing. Poor planning - Vod announces when he'll be MIA you know, lol.

Well I'm upset over what happened. This wasn't planned because this isn't fake. I posted this thread as a warning, hopefully theymos will let me back in soon and we can forget about all of this. In the meantime don't get scammed by my account.

Okay... well I have an easy question for you. You and I shared a PM or two. What was the subject?
87  Other / Meta / Re: Vod account hacked! :( on: August 20, 2014, 05:50:15 AM
Is that your real photo vod? You look like that George Costanza guy from Seinfeld.

That's me.  Smiley   When I had hair, I used to look like Adam Sandler.   Smiley

well well... you're actually kind of cute - would've never guessed. I like the avatar image of you better.

Hi guys,

Vod (Martin Lawrence) here. I'm very sad to say this but my account here has been hacked. I'm not sure how it happened, but I'm locked out of my email accounts too and my hot wallet appears to have been deleted off my computer, I'll have to check my backups to see if the funds have moved. I suspect my computer has been infected with malware. I'm still looking into it though and it'll take some time to figure it out, but in the meantime:

I dont understand stunna's edit part. What will he close again? So if I am already a participant beforehand will I get boot out of this sig camp?
Since there are around 100 senior members participating about half of them will be "fired" from the campaign the next two days. If you do not get a PM from me then you are good to go. Quality posters are safe.

Will have a list of the survivors in 2 days.

I quoted this since people are asking about the cuts and wanting an updated list.  Sounds like an updated list is in the works....

This is a pretty large scale reduction in the signature campaign.  I like the use of the term "survivors."  I imagine that referral earnings may offset it a bit but this has been an insanely generous program.

I've never hoped so much to NOT get a PM from Stunna! Smiley

Well - guess I won't be trying to join after all, lol.

Good luck folks!

I'm going to rally a group of really smart peeps who know how to find code errors, and altcoin critics and supporters... Might as well throw in representation from an exchange ... And we're going to start an unofficial altcoin review board. It won't take very long to establish a reputation. We'll review all new launches and scrutinize the hell out of them and report our findings in their ANN thread.  Hell, it could work...

Best of luck! If you get it off the ground, you'll found crypto's answer to Underwriters' Laboratories. UL was started back in tha day of voluntary self-regulation, fyi.

Wow - I'm in love Smiley  I have a new project to keep me busy for a bit now Tongue

Wonder if I should give this another try...

I floated around with this signature for two months and never got paid.  Undecided  of course that was completely my fault - the 17th passed me by and I didn't even think about it.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Congratulations Scammers, you've killed the altcoin market on: August 19, 2014, 10:16:18 PM
I don't bother with any POW coins anymore, I stick with new coins that are built from scratch and have a lot of promising features.

Interesting... Are you actually referring to POS coins? It seems to me that POS coins are a precursor for pumps and dumps... Especially those with a short POW phase.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we have too many alt coins? on: August 19, 2014, 09:31:15 PM

Read on guys... This might be the single most valuable piece of advice you'll get on this forum:

99% of altcoins these days exists with the sole purpose in mind of their creators (and community) to bump and then extract BTC from the unsavy/speculators. Do not get fooled by false promises my friends.

95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 19, 2014, 09:26:39 PM
Got to say how refreshing it is to see devs delivering on promises, easily contactable, problem solving, and so level headed in the face of so much unsubstantiated fud!
There may be hope for the altcoin world after all. Well done!

 Smiley THANK YOU Smiley

We are working very hard to do things right moving forward and learning from earlier mistakes. Syscoin is very unique and even though there were some issues- this is a huge codebase to launch, and we're incredibly excited to see its potential realized as people realize its stable and can be built upon.

Hey!!! I wanted to give the devs prop too Tongue lol

But yes, I couldn't agree more. I don't know much about this coin, but I'd suspect that you guys' level of professionalism transferred over to the operational side of the house.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Suggestions to prevent scammers launch new shitcoins on: August 19, 2014, 05:15:32 PM
Do you think some scam devs are related to some exchanges, hashrate rental websites, and pool opertaors?

Yes, these altcoin exchanges are one of the main problems.

I've a simple soluiton to this problem

I suggest the community start its own exchange with 0% (or vey low) Fee Trading, we can add a Donate Button like Wikipedia.

I think this solution is the best way to short-circuit all these scam and shit coins.

This exchanges will be trusted by the community and reliable members in this forum.

If anyone is interested here, I can help to build that plan.

A new trusted exchange moderated by reputable members of bitcointalk can be one possible solution. I've added it to the OP.

That's it, damn it! Lol.

I'm going to rally a group of really smart peeps who know how to find code errors, and altcoin critics and supporters... Might as well throw in representation from an exchange ... Where's the proof?
98  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Trojan Wallet stealer be careful on: August 19, 2014, 03:17:55 PM
Is the trojan only for Windows or need the rest of us be scared too? Embarrassed
In my opinion Ubuntu is safe for everything. Nothing to be afraid of while using Ubuntu.
Kindly,
        Muhammed Zakhir

Who the hell told you this? Stop spreading shit that isn't true.

Yes, Ubuntu can be attacked too but it is safer than Windows. Sorry for not being clear and about the last line.

Kindly,
      MZ

Much better Smiley yes, it's safer, but of course you have to do your part as well to maintain the security posture. Now in terms of Trojans... I do think compiling from source is better is than installing a freaking executable... But from what I hear, it's pretty easy to hide a line of malicious code in the source files. Guess that's the risk we have to take
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Congratulations Scammers, you've killed the altcoin market on: August 19, 2014, 02:01:01 AM

Scammers did not kill the alternate market.  Developers, whales and greedy participants killed cryptos.

Right on.

Me--waiting patiently.  Wink

Patience will be rewarded. A new client has been deployed to pools and we are stabilizing the network. The wallets for WIN/MAC will be posted shortly then everyone can start working on Syscoin together again, forks be gone!

Whoo hoo! Is it available in the github for us linux users now?
