Yes TheKoolio I have.. I've contacted my local police department..

They had absolutely NO IDEA what I was talking about...

They didn't even know about BTC-e.com..

They looked up BTC-e.com as well as any business licenses sorrounding it and could not find any..

I know for a fact there is money laundering present as at least %20 of the bitcoins are from the sale of drugs and firearms on silkroad all you have to do is look in the blockchain to see it..

My local police department is already contacting russian police on my claim they also thanked me for reporting this as they wern't even aware the exchange was functioning or what a bitcoin was..

They are also looking into my claims that they sold the source code for BTC-e.com to a known ponzi schemer for a large sum of money..

Also I asked them if there were any police reports sorrounding me and they stated there was not and asked them the legality sorrounding speech and freedom of speech and they stated to me that freedom of speech clearly has place online as much as others will believe it doesn't and that you are innocent until proven guilty..

I spoke to them about falsified police reports and they told me this is a federal offense and if the aligations are falsified and strong enough they can be arrested under Canadian Law.. They did not know the legality sorrounding Russian law but were also going to look into that and taking the appropriate action..

So what you did was call up your police and tell them how bitcoin is used for illegal transactions...... in order to make your self look better?

Do you care about bitcoins future? (not that someTHING as pathetic as you could have an impact on it)

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Litecoin PPS Pool - We pay for stale shares! on: July 22, 2012, 05:02:15 AM
Let me pretense this with saying I know little about the complexities of running a server.

But maybe as a temporary measure could you set up the server only to accept incoming requests from an ip if its on a list of trusted ips, esentaly making the pool privet. You then manualy adding and ip if someone was to make a request to use the pool?

All of this is just what I think of when i think about a dos attack, if its completly rediculese just explane to me why  Grin

I can't sign up because the "slide to fit" thing requires a Flash plug-in.

does everybody not have that those days?

Flash is proprietary software, which I do not install on my computer.

lol?

lol? lol you say? most of us who as you say "*unix" care about the whole proprietary software thing... and at least i don't apreashate when people laugh at us for caring... most of us also aren't stupid

I actually tried to install flash on Fedora15, did in fact install it, but the browser rejected it, seems Fedora thinks it is a security problem or something. So even after installing it the browser does not actually use it.

-MarkM-

i'm sad to hear it, but i cant disapple it, its for security reason, in the start it wasn't there, then some spammed my wallet and made ~2500 vaults.. so..

Surely you can use a standard captcha system or something from solvemedia? Flash only also leaves out most mobile users.

a mobile version of the site is under development, andoid app also

and because we aren't we can see you dodging his question. "Surely you can use a standard captcha system or something from solvemedia?"

but hey if someone who can "*unix" wants to help him *shrugs sholders

91  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Current and future price of BTC based on mining on: July 12, 2012, 06:22:13 AM
Let me clarify my question.

I'm looking for a calculator that will tell me the amount of fiat currency it takes to mine 1 BTC, both based on current conditions and on projected conditions within the bitcoin network (difficulty, etc). Given that the fiat currency prices for electricity / rigs vary, the calculator should give the low-end of the ratio.

you didn't read the wikipidea artical at all did you?

well since you obviously didn't and merly want what you want.... you still can't have it.

""The value of bitcoins are based on how much electricity and computing power it takes to mine them

This statement is an attempt to apply to Bitcoin the labor theory of value, which is generally accepted as false. Just because something takes X resources to create does not mean that the resulting product will be worth X. It can be worth more, or less, depending on the utility thereof to its users.
In fact the causality is the reverse of that (this applies to the labor theory of value in general). The cost to mine Bitcoins is based on how much they are worth. If Bitcoins go up in value, more people will mine (because mining is profitable), thus difficulty will go up, thus the cost of mining will go up. The inverse happens if bitcoins go down in value. These effects balance out to cause mining to always cost the amount of bitcoins it produces.""  -wiki

AND IF YOU STILL DIDN'T READ IT THE ANSWER IS THERE ISN'T ONE BECAUSE THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!

Threw in 8 Khs or so.... how can you afford the pps rate? 0.00200439512649220000??
Litecoinpool.org being the only other pps pool only pays out 0.00012501.

98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the pro's cons and difrances of bitcoinplus.com and the software client on: June 07, 2011, 02:32:42 AM
thanks for the quick response and very easy to understand breakdown of types of mining, my powerbill is payed by someone else (i'm only 16) but i don't want to just waste money. i do have a desktop but its nothing powerful, P4 1.6ghz with a 16 mb radion something... its for 2002 so you see where i'm going with this. i was interested in doing it on my ps3, but the site wont load on the native browser, and i have the latest firmware so no linux for me Sad i relay have gotten to dislike sony for so many different reasons..

is there like a pre-fab guide on using the client for noobs on the forums?
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / the pro's cons and difrances of bitcoinplus.com and the software client on: June 07, 2011, 01:26:52 AM
first i would like to make it well know that i have NO idea what i'm doing with bitcoin yet so please forgive any of my Nivea question's

So i hear about bitcoin yesterday on the linux action show. so i google it and the very first site i get to is http://www.bitcoinplus.com/
and i'm supped, "all i have to do is park my browser on this page and it will slowly make me money?" so as it generated and went on and read the wikipedia page and some blogs, and eventually got to the .org bitcoin site so i download the cliant and am at a total loss at first at how to even run it (apparently the linux version is just the windows version running though wine?) and now i cant even figure out how to use it.

so i guess my first question is, there any reason not to just let it "mine" though java on the web page (that's pool mining right?) or is there realse intensive to figure out how to run it on a software level.

P.S. i've managed about 20 "payouts" (.00208162 BTC) on my laptop working for for the better part of a day (surprisingly the temps seam stable) so i'm going to give it a good cool down period soon.
