Undoubtedly, having another medical opinion can be an asset.
Not wanting to call into question the suitability of the medical team that is with you, sometimes another team mediates by having a different perspective on your case and even suggesting other more interesting solutions for you.
I also recommend this. Based on his exact condition, there can be alternative forms of treatment as well. Like, I was having a wound near my chest from few years. I neglected it completely but once when I visited a doctor for another health issue, I casually mentioned it to him. He inspected it and suggested me an operation immediately otherwise my life will be in danger. I talked to a homeopathy doctor near by my house who gave a medicine to spread on the wound and it was gone in few days. No operation was needed in my case. It is very recommended to have second opinion for critical operations as well. I can give many other similar examples. Like many doctors these days suggest delivery of pregnant woman by operations even though it is not needed just to increase the hospital bills.

Never respond to any emails which are coming from Ledger
Do not agree to this. Suppose, there is some virus or hack affecting some users and they mail those users to change their passwords with the help of some authentication with reply to that mail. Will you consider not replying to them even in that case. I understand what you are saying here but this should not be hard and fast rule. One should apply basic common sense based on the situation.

If you want to know anything just follow them on Twitter as they are pretty active on social media. Please also go through the Security tips shared by Ledger wallet.

That can also be unreliable in case their Twitter also gets compromised. So act according to the situation using your common sense.
83  Other / Meta / Re: New bitcointalk rank? 🔥 on: January 29, 2023, 01:51:13 PM
I don't know how many users are still consistently active and posting in 10 straight years until now. I guess they deserve special title rather than new rank just because some users manage to get 2000 or 20000 merit. It takes lot of dedication to stay active on this forum for 10 years non-stop, and I think they deserve it. Such loyalty should earn proper reward instead of considering the amount of merit earned for new rank, but this is just my assumption.
There need not be reward in terms of rank for everything. Those who are active here for 10 years had already got rewarded in terms of skills, investment and returns. They also gained lot of information and updates related to crypto from this forum in these 10 years which is more rewarding than some rank.

Another issue with such a reward is that suppose you give that rank for activity of 10 years to someone. Now he becomes inactive and the rank or badge is taken away from him. So , now his 10 year dedication has no value ?

I like the current ranking system as it is. There are no changes required as of now. With the current system, forum is able to maintain decent activity and growth. So why experiment with a structure that is already working good for the forum ?
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stolen BTCs from paper wallet on: December 24, 2022, 01:41:43 PM
Hello guys,

I will tell the story how I lost 0.4 BTC. I want to ask you advices.

It is (was) a paper wallet I generated in bitaddress.org. I generated it online, in my work. The system is protected by firewall and VPN. Then I printed it in the printer connected in the network.
The network is very safe - I will not tell the name of company for privacy. The printer is connected to the system's network.
Supposing that there's no one from inside evolved, is it possible to have a malicious intermediate between my computer and bitaddress?
Any other ideas about how that happened?

Another thing is your opinion about one method I'm thinking for generate a paper wallet in bitaddress.org. Everybody tells that the bitaddress' website is safe. Is that so?
The idea is to enter in the website and switch off the internet. The next steps will all be done without any internet:
- generate the wallets
- restore the windows, erasing everything
- take out this HD, connect to my other notebook and format it using the program Eraser, which records random information in the drive
- return the HD to the previous notebook and install Windows again
Only now, turn on the internet.

Any risk in this procedure?

Thank you.

I am curious as to how new you are to crypto ? You are asking us regarding the safety and security of the website "bitaddress" after using it. Don't you think you should do proper research before using these external sites for crypto transactions instead of asking later when the damage is done ?

I wish you speedy recovery and good health in future.

My opinion on health is that people in my country do not take health seriously till they reach hospital. They are ready to spend entire savings when doctor scares them with harsh words. But they never focus on small things like developing healthy eating habits, doing exercise , social interactions with others for mental health. I also belong to same category. Your post reminded me of the fact that I need to change this approach otherwise I might have to regret a lot one day.

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They want you to panic :-> on: August 15, 2018, 07:21:55 AM
There are many contradictions in what OP said. He says that there is no reason for the sudden crash in prices. Will the same logic apply to sudden increase in prices that happened in 2017 end. Crypto cannot be compared with traditional markets like share market or so. There is huge availability as the concept is still new.

A lot of people are yet to adopt it , some do not understand it even after they have invested in it. With time, it will start getting more predictable.

Just wanted to let the forum staff know that while using the forum today, I am getting a unique error saying :

90  Other / Meta / Re: 95% redundant posts. Research bitcoin before posting on: August 10, 2018, 10:22:51 AM
Even there's a pinned post as a reminder, they are ignoring it.

The problem is that they are doing this intentionally. It is not because of ignorance and thus reminders like this thread will not help in this case.
91  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestions to lessen spam accounts on: August 10, 2018, 10:18:05 AM
Limiting the number of accounts per day will result in a competition between the bots for creating accounts as soon as the registration opens for that day.

Do not feel surprised, if you see registration being sold here from next day.

93  Other / Meta / How to remain calm and cool on Bitcointalk ? - Question on: August 04, 2018, 08:03:43 PM
How to remain calm and cool on Bitcointalk ? I have seen that sometimes things get heated up between members and then we see a lot of hate. This results in waste of lot of time and energy which could have spent in constructive activities on this forum.

Now this forum also has a lot of experienced members and I thought that it would be beneficial for us to hear about how they keep calm on this forum.
94  Other / Meta / Re: Corruption and prejudgment of the moderator Xandry on: August 04, 2018, 07:57:28 PM
Did you try sorting out the matter with the concerned mod ?  Sometimes there might be misunderstanding and it can be easily resolved with a pm.

Posting this on the forum without taking that step is not professional. If you had done that and then made this post, please ignore my reply. I hope you are able to sort this out.
95  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source visit Scam Accusation board occasionally on: August 04, 2018, 07:55:06 PM
I am not clear what you mean exactly. And why use unnecessary bold character. What is wrong in my post history can you please point me clearly ?

I meant that you recently made threads in "Scam Accusation board", You can see recent your recent threads https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=1980983;sa=showPosts  . And then you make a post in meta asking merit sources to visit that section ? Coincidental ?

I don't know how you received 3 merit.

It is not that hard to know. Click on my profile and then merit, you will see which post I got it for and which member gave it.

96  Other / Meta / Re: What can I do next. I realize my guilt on: August 04, 2018, 06:15:35 AM
Why do you think that life is all over once you are banned on this forum ? There are other forums and sites that you can try. Make sure that you follow all rules there. If you wanted to make money here through bounties, that is also possible on other platforms like bountyhive (I have not tried it though).

All the best.
97  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source visit Scam Accusation board occasionally on: August 04, 2018, 06:12:17 AM
I like your suggestion and I hope that the merit sources give it a thought.

But I also have a suggestion for you. Looking at your post history (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1980983;sa=showPosts) , you recently made some thread in that section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4813326.msg43420993#msg43420993). That does not give a good impression. You are actually weakening your chances of getting merits by doing this. This thread would have far more weight if you have posted it without making a recent post in that section.
98  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merits (guide) on: August 04, 2018, 06:08:10 AM
4. How lucky you are?
Whatever it is, luck is exists. I know a few members that have a good knowledge and always post useful things but receive a bit merits. But no problem, even they didn't care about merits, -they just want to be useful-.

You may get lucky one or two times but it will not happen always.

May be based on above, you can get member rank with that much luck but it would be impossible to rank higher with that approach. To move further , you will have to keep making good posts consistently.  It is funny how people not getting any merits come up with excuses and blame it on everything else including luck. The day you take possibility for the quality of your posts here, you will get lucky.

Got merits from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=923308  who is already tagged for alt accounts.
100  Other / Meta / Is there option to change theme on this forum ? on: July 21, 2018, 03:11:52 PM
I have seen some forums using SMF using other themes. Are users allowed to change theme here to find a combination that suits them better ?
