81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.4 (Windows/Linux) on: April 26, 2017, 10:25:08 PM
Hi all

I can't get any cards of rx470 or 480. The only one I can buy is MSI or ASUS  rx580.

Does anyone know how they work?

The Rx 580 will be very similar to the Rx 480. They might hash a tiny bit better at stock settings but consume more power. If you undervolt and tweak them they will be very similar. I would buy whichever had the better price myself.

It will not hash better if the memory is the same.

The GPU chip might be a little more efficient.

Thank you for all your posts. I've ordered MSI RX 580 Armor 8GB today. As soon as I get'em , I'll tell you how much sols I get
I hope you have better luck with them than I have had. At this point I can't get them to take ANY tweaking. Currently running headless on ETH/DCR:

Code:
ETH - Total Speed: 126.374 Mh/s, Total Shares: 91, Rejected: 0, Time: 00:23
ETH: GPU0 16.166 Mh/s, GPU1 21.924 Mh/s, GPU2 29.555 Mh/s, GPU3 29.192 Mh/s, GPU4 29.538 Mh/s
 DCR - Total Speed: 3791.208 Mh/s, Total Shares: 73, Rejected: 1
 DCR: GPU0 484.968 Mh/s, GPU1 657.712 Mh/s, GPU2 886.640 Mh/s, GPU3 875.751 Mh/s, GPU4 886.137 Mh/s

I'm going to give a vouch, even though we didn't do a deal. 10% of $7000.00 paypal was..........well..........insane. I got 2 and 3% from other sellers on that amount and pay system. 10% on $200 I can swallow, but not 10% on $7000. alex2012 was good to try and make a deal with and gets a vouch from me.

Don't waste your time with this Jdope clown. He promised to buy my cards at a cheaper price than I was selling them on ebay. I removed them from ebay and never heard another word out of Jdope while he was supposed to be arranging escrow. Placed my ads back on ebay and they all sold at a higher price than this "tire kicker" has any intention of paying.

Sent money for Bittrex support several days ago and messaged Gun on his forums. When shall the moons align so I can get my working polo/bittrex bot?

Gigabyte Gaming 580 is running a steady 29-30mh/s, Aorus is absolutely no different, MSI Armor I bitched about before are actually the best cards at 30-31mh/s. Red Devil's arriving tomorrow.........and I'm out of boards.

So far the MSI X170a gaming m5 has been a clusterfuck bitch trying to get to run more than 4 cards, instead of 7. Still looking for a solution :\

I run this board with 9 cards without issue, and it was very easy to get running. I have helped a couple people with this board, and to the best of my knowledge, everyone has been able to get it to work with the following steps:

1. Use a Skylake processor. One person I know of started with a Kaby Lake processor, and he could not get the board to run more than 4 cards without switching to a Skylake.

2. Update the BIOS to the latest version.

3. Enable above 4g decoding

4. Leave all other settings alone, especially the settings concerning PCIe speed.
I've got some more risers arriving this evening. All my boards have Skylake i5's, 8gb of 2400 RAM. I set the 4G, other settings to Gen 2 and my one test board is running 4 cards. Two on the board and 2 using risers. Until I get more risers in, not much else I can do for now.

Of the 580's you tried, have you tried dual mining with them? Is there any difference between them? The prices here seem to differ a lot and I have no clue which 580 to pick. See https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/zoeken/?keyword=rx+580. For example the Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 GAMING 8GB is listed as €265,- while Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8GB is listed as €301,95 and Asus ROG-STRIX-RX580-T8G-GAMING is listed as €341,50. That is a big difference in price... and now I have no clue which one to pick. I am leaning toward the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8GB because in the topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1881008.0 it is getting good results but that might be the same for the other cards too  Huh
Of the cards I've tested so far, all have been dual mining ETH+DCR. I haven't tested the Red Devil's since they don't arrive until this afternoon. Now to the big question...............which would I buy again.........whichever is the cheapest. They all perform within a mh/s or two of each other. The Giga cards are of better quality and have back plates. The MSI is cheaply made, but performs slightly higher and runs hotter. Out of all of them, the MSI rig is the only one that has randomly shutdown. Both giga rigs have been a steady 29mh/s 800+dcr without a single restart for well over 24 hours. I'd buy the Giga gaming 580 8gb over the Aorus because they are slightly smaller and a bit cheaper. I honestly don't see the Red Devil's changing that opinion, but...............ya never know til testing is over.

EDIT: Bonehead move of the day.............saw a box sitting in the corner. It is full of Red Devil cards that apparently arrived early. Now I know what I'll be testing for the next few hours LMAO.

EDIT: on the Red Dragon 580 8gb...........if you are looking for a cheap card, this might be it. Bone stock straight out of the box it does 27.8mh/s ETH + 835 dcr. My only change was to add -cvddc 900 to the start bat, resulting in gpuZ saying it max's at 122watt. BUT, there is a caveat.......not much tuning does a dam thing that I have seen so far. Modding the 2:1750 to 2:2000 doesn't seem to make much difference at all other than it becomes less stable. Messing with Trixx/afterburner results in HARD crashes. This card likes it's defaults and those defaults are not too bad for a $200usd card. If you are not into tweaking and tweaking, build a rig of these. They are fire and forget.

I bought 5 each of Gigabyte Gaming 580 8gb, Gigabyte Aorus 580 8gb, and Msi 580 Armor 8gb. The Armor cards are absolute junk and I'm sending them back. Modded one of each card and got both Giga versions up to 29mh/s stable, Msi would never go over 26mh/s but mostly stays at 24mh/s and the mod and/or changing core/clocks only makes things worse. TBH I'm thinking about sending all the cards back and waiting on Vega. If these cards had done ~30mh/s they would have almost paid for themselves by the time Vega releases. MSI Armors are going back for sure! Total garbage. Cheap construction, no backplates, just nothing good to say about them.

That's funny, I bought some of the MSI Armor RX580 8 GB as well and I am getting 30.5 Mh/s on each of them mining ETH while drawing about 105 watts/card measured from the wall, GPU-z shows 75-80W. May I ask how you modded them? I simply copied the 1:1750 strap to the 1:2000 and I am running 1125/2275 clocks with 0.900 core voltage. They work just as good as the RX480's, not any better but not really any worse either.
I had modded the 2:1750 strap to the 2:2000. Reflashed orig vbios and redid the whole thing using 1:1750 to 1:2000, set -cvddc 900 in me .bat and the card is hashing dual at 30-31mh/s and 900+ dcr steady for about an hour now.

Hi,

im confused now, should i pay for the update as i am alredy a gunbot user ? Will I be able ot use 3x version only on polo and i will need to buy additional license for kraken etc. , or i will need to pay for polo trading with x3 again ?
I'm the same. When I bought it said lifetime upgrades for free. Adding Bittrex and Kraken are certainly an upgrade, but now I'm being asked to pay more to use on other exchanges.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.1 (Windows/Linux) on: April 18, 2017, 11:05:13 PM

not all of them are 8+6 (MSI gaming 570 has only a 8pin), but some are, indeed, like Sapphire 570 8gb 100412NT+8GL
cannot make a 6 GPU rig with them using EVGA 1300, unless you use splitters/extenders, which is not a big deal by itself.
Why couldn't you? An EVGA 1300 has 9 VGA connections, which is certainly enough to connect 6 GPU's.

That Sapphire he mentions uses 6pin + 8pin connectors, so you would need 12 VGA connectors from the PSU in order to run 6 of that GPU.
Maybe he is calling the included EVGA cables that have two 8pin connectors "splitters". *shrugs* I have a boat load of the EVGA 1300's and they run 7 cards rigs all day long.

not exactly accurate...
EVGA 1300 can run 7 cards, that's not the point. The point was that new Sapphire RX 570 has 8pin AND 6pin connectors.
EVGA 1300 has two double connectors (8[6+2]+6) and four singles (8pin=6+2)
Evga does NOT have 8+8 connectors (second 8pin you suppose to connect to PSU)
therefore, without extra PCIe splitters you would be able to employ only 4 GPUs like Sapphiere 570 8gb that you mention.
This is not a big deal anyway since you could buy splitters at $4 a pop.
That is incorrect, at least for the EVGA 1300's I have. They each had 4 red 8pin to 8pin, and god only knows how many red 8pin to 8pin(6+2)+8pin(6+2). I use the 8 to 8(6+2)+8(6+2), seven of them, for each rig. Hell I've still got a sack full of them lol. I used the 4 8to8 for Zeus miners.

there is no such thing as 8pin to 8pin(6+2)+8pin(6+2), instead there are 8pin to 8pin(6+2)+6pin, unless they changed their product:
http://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=120-g2-1300-xr
Perhaps, you got a bunch of random cables. In such case, it is fine.
Retail boxed EVGA 1300 have 6 cables, 2 doubles (4 connectors) and 4 singles for a total of 8 PCIe connectors, six of which are 8pin [6+2] and two are 6pin (you can confirm this on the website that i included).
Dude I bought mine when Zeus miners first came out. It is likely they have changed what is included now. Mine have four red 8pin to 8pin and I'm holding one in my hand. You can believe it or not as I don't give a rip.

When are we expecting version 12.5?

Currently I'm working on new version of dual miner, so don't expect new version of ZEC miner within several days.

dual miner for zec or is it the eth dual miner?
C'mon guys, Claymore only has one dual miner.(that I know of anyway)

What is going to be the difference? better hashrate? less power?

Thanks for your work @claymore

We are all hoping for 5-10% hashrate boost and 5-10% power reduction Wink
Probably will see better results on coins that utlize core, more than mem.

Edit: Just checked some test and 5xx are produced in the same process, so power draw will remain the same at same clocks.
Disappointed.
TDP is 30W higher, also for example RX570 has 1x8pin plus 1x6pin, it does not look for better power consumption...

Charge backs are always possible with Paypal or any other bank funded method, no matter what paypal or other institution says.  I would be happy to help you with cash in mail or walmart to walmart or meet in person if you are in KS, but outside of those, I don't think you will have any success.
I have already bought 12btc and had another offer for 4btc, which I declined since I don't need anymore.

Chargebacks are possible via friends and family if you did the transaction after a phone confirmation of a new PC. Interested to see on the blockchain your 2x6 btc transactions.
The tinfoil hat crowd are starting to give me lulz. Just for my amusement, what do you see when you search the blockchain for this addy: 3EoxZALRgxxW6H1vWrXKZZdDpy3Lzdtgp7
 And this transaction: 05ebc5c118f41ba3b4afe638a9f421fdd992e7aa3651b65c36d3927e98081c29

An A/V only detects KNOWN virii, not the 0-day stuff which is the most dangerous. If having an A/V makes you feel better, then go for it. But don't be fooled into thinking it will stop a malicious attack.

NOt in the near future.
Actually Claymore is planning to release another version to add coin/pool switching on-the-fly. Dunno when, but he confirmed it. He will probably be doing this for all his miners.
100  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 6btc using Paypal on: April 18, 2017, 02:33:17 PM
Oh c'mon dude. Any transaction, and I do many ANY transaction that involves a bank is reversible. Period. I said PAYPAL will not reverse a friends or family nor gift transactions and no one here has shown any proof that isn't true. Only speculation and guesses, while I have personally experienced it.

To get the bank to reverse the transaction I had to jump through hoops for weeks, including taking the defective phone to the branch manager along with signed affidavits from a person that witnessed me opening the package. Without that witness the transaction would have likely held up. I was simply lucky my neighbor stopped me outside to talk, and I happened to open the package during it.

The rest of your reply sound more like tinfoil hat stuff. Yes, people can lie, but there are also honest people in the world. This forum is rife with paranoia. In the lending section a guy needed a few dollar worth of btc and got raked over the coals by the lending crowd. Most of them demanding outrageous collateral and fees. I loaned the guy the few bucks and he paid me back early. Not everyone is out to fuck you.

Now with all that said, I no longer need any btc. Two people have sold me a total of 12btc, one for 2% and another for 3%.........while the rest of you were not interested, or wanted 10% or more. They profited and the rest of you lost out.  Wink
