81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Guide to Avoid Scams on: January 29, 2018, 07:36:06 PM
I think we need this stickied.

We need a guide to safety looking for alt coins, knowing what to look for in order to identify a scam.

First rule; Spelling errors.

I am very new to alt-coins, so I'm sure many of you have some advice to give.

There isn't any point to having this stickied because any coin that is not Bitcoin is likely to scam.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hotels accepting bitcoin on: January 28, 2018, 09:40:17 PM
I hope so!
Careful, if Bitcoin gets accepted by Hotels there will be a slight drop in the price. I don't use Bitcoin enough to do that though.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin is a project of FBI? on: January 28, 2018, 09:39:39 PM
interesting guys i dont know how your brains work   Shocked good luck
Whocares if Bitcoin is watched by the people inside FBI agencies. At least there is money in Bitcoin.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin rises still, but why? on: January 28, 2018, 09:36:44 PM
Bitcoin achieved the trust of investors and creates their demand and so many reasons are occured with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the most advanced cin for business. Bitcoin has a stability and acceptance. So many matter are related with Bitcoin for rising its price.
That is why people want Bitcoin. Other than just using it for trading, it has a purpose beyond the markets.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market cap is rising ?? on: January 28, 2018, 09:36:04 PM
Today I found some rise in total coin market cap reached 580+ billion still rising is that the good sign for next big pump. It was in between 500 billion last couple of week today it’s rising.
Now the market cap is stuck for few weeks but I believe it will change soon.
I think its pretty comedown now and it will rise suddenly in few weeks.
The marketcap is not stuck. The price is changing everyday, it would mean that nobody is using Bitcoin if the marketcap was stuck.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We're al getting it wrong on: January 28, 2018, 09:35:12 PM
That's a very interesting point. Did you try to figure out which could be the percentage of the Bitcoins which get traded versus the total supply?

To do it one would have to compare statistics from all exchanges around the world, or at least all of the biggest ones in every country.
If we take a single exchange like bitfinex and compare some of the recent pump and dump schemes  we'll at least have a confirmation of what's going on.
January 22 (dump) 6200 btc in 2 h
January 23 (pump) 5900 btc in 2 h
January 26 (dump) 7200 btc in 2.5 h And on the same day there was a quick rebound during which almost 6000 coins were bought back in a little over an hour.

I believe the ones buying back are the same people that were selling during the dump, there's no significant price movement because there's no fresh coins or money coming to the exchanges. It's always the same people playing around with newcomers bringing less than 10% of the capital to the table.

From the statistics you have mentioned, it is possible that a large pump and dump group is playing around the market without fresh supply coming in to the market. Probably that is one of the reasons why the bitcoin price is not seeing any significant growth and only moving within a certain limit. But I believe bitcoin network is also a reason for bitcoin's price movement now.

The network is slow and the fees is high, even though it is decreasing, but still higher than expected. While bitcoin was made to replace the idea of centralization and to give power to common people to control his own money, but we have moved away from that goal long time back and bitcoin became an investment asset. People are preferring to horde it instead of making transactions because of the fees and slow network.

A majority of the frequent transactors are moving to a different currency because that is cheap for them as well as faster. So the acceptability of bitcoin has gone down to some extent. Until we have the network issue fixed through bigger block or lightening network, further increase in price is tough to happen.
A large pump and sump group is playing in the markets, it doesn't mean much because they can't cash that money out unless the price gets more expensive.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano (ADA) overvalued or undervalued? on: January 27, 2018, 09:57:55 PM
It is presently undervalued. ADA has a very huge potential for growth and it will soon be revealed.
I think that the price is undervalued. Most coins don't have that many people working in their team like they do.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selfkey and Polymath partnership on: January 27, 2018, 09:14:20 PM
Cool news of Selfkey and Polymath partnering. Very good collab. I think they complement each other well.

Article: http://www.valuewalk.com/2018/01/polymath-selfkey-icos-blockchain/
Why is that coin trying to partner with Polymath? Polymath was once called a scam if I remember correctly.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin? Will it become a mainstream of currency. on: January 26, 2018, 06:40:30 PM
Future of online currency will be a mainstream or it's popularity will wane?
What do you think? Bitcoin is getting popular more and more everyday. Bitcoin is even accepted in most online stores.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite altcoin and why? on: January 26, 2018, 06:39:56 PM
I just started in the wild west that is crypto, and happened to trip over ripple and tron when they grew so it gave me a taste of how fast things can go up and down. What are some of your favorite coins right now and why?
Ethereum is one of them, there is also MaidSafe. If I had more Bitcoins then I'd invest in the latter.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALERT***A new SCAM COINDASH from the scammers of GETGEMZ scam project!!!!!! on: January 26, 2018, 06:24:17 PM
I still think that they are a scam, they might have something to deliver though they aren't doing it because they want their coin to be number 1.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Buy or Sell now? on: January 26, 2018, 06:23:28 PM
I hope that soon the market will recover, I also invested in coins and now they have taken away from me 30% of the deposit.
The market will grow back to normal when Bitcoin goes up. The prices that altcoins have is only temporary.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Pump & Dump Group on: January 26, 2018, 06:22:52 PM
any pump and dump efforts are risky, please be very cautious!
McAfee could be pumping the coins that he chooses. There is no chance of him being correct 100% of the time.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless so why high price? on: January 25, 2018, 09:50:39 PM
Bitcoin is useless because of his price and long transactions, but the same time I think it's useful for big transactions, that you can't realise in banks.
Why so big? I think because of pumping and speculative activity, there are no more reasons.

Well, although there is a lot of speculation regarding bitcoin, I think that bitcoin is not that overpriced. It is kind of useless right now for small transactions, but as you pointed out, it might be a good solution for big ones. It also has the potencial to grow a lot more, if it's scalability problems get solved, so I would say that bitcoin is already pricing the potencial it has once those problems are solved. So although it's still speculation, since small fees and fast transactions are not a reality yet, it's price is a way of people supporting it, and claiming their faith in it's future development. It's normal to invest in startups for it's potencial, and I guess that is what is happening with bitcoin right now.
The price of Bitcoin comes only second to the technology that Bitcoin has. A lot of people that saw the history of Bitcoin can understand that.

96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Awesome ICOs!? on: January 25, 2018, 09:48:22 PM
Hi,
I am starting investing in ICOs, so i am interested about your attitude to ICOs. I glat to here any ideas.

It would be realy nice if somebody shared their experiences and advice some interesting ICOs with high potential. Btw, bad experiences are very interesting as well!
Storiqa is still going on if I remember correctly. They should be over soon, they just need about a million dollars left before they get their hardcap.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have to invest 550$, in which Coin(s) i should do? on: January 25, 2018, 09:46:26 PM
I think you should buy bitcoin + eth .

Bitcoin, Ethereum also Waves is going to get some volume real soon.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALtcoins Prices on: January 25, 2018, 09:40:41 PM
Is there a chance that altcoins may rise up again on the first week of February?
I've invested in coins that went up so high when the price was only expected to go up a single percent. Anything is possible dude.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How do I know a bounty program is good? on: January 25, 2018, 09:40:03 PM
I think a good ICO is usually managed by a manager who has a green trust and his rank is not a newbie or Jr. Member. bounty manager is trusted to implement bounty and actively manage the bounty. telegram is good forum to get information about the bounty.
I like to also add that bounties that have bounty managers that update the thread almost everyday is a good campaign to be in.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success? on: January 24, 2018, 10:10:54 PM
Been seeing projects' Telegram groups blow up and I think that's an attribute of success. Personally, when I find a project, I do judge them by their social media presence. How active a telegram channel does say a lot with their demand.

With the rise of groups exceeding Telegram's 50k member cap...what do you guys think?

Article: https://news.bitcoin.com/telegram-followers-the-new-metric-for-cryptocurrency-success/

Yes, Telegram is a very useful tool for ICO to be more successful because they can address all investors inquiries instantly unlike just relying on posts and email it will be a time wasting making the investors bored due to their questions will not be answer right away. Facilitating ICO should make the investors feel will informed and at ease so that they could easily to decide in which the time for booth ICO and the investors will be save.
I use Telegram to see what people are in to. Most investors that use Telegram are very knowledgeable in the coin channel.
