81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]--★★BumbaCoin★★-- POS X11 on: September 06, 2017, 02:43:55 AM
This is the most fun project. It's funny to come across this.
How can anyone not love BUMBA? It's got a smiley face for a logo, that alone is a good start. Then you have some of the more unique ways of giving away free BUMBA to the community. Don't forget that cryptobetfair.com has free BUMBA also with the /beg function there. Play some fun gaming, the Bumba spin has some great sound effects.

Now in the news I've seen that Paris Hilton is getting behind a crypto coin, Mayweather is also getting in the crypto game. Who would be an ideal celeb to get behind BUMBA?

I will be reinstalling my windows after complete format so i guess my deeponion wallet will download all the block history again on new windows?
Is there any way i can backup the complete wallet including blocks not just the wallet file?

yes there is shut off your DeepOnion wallet wait at least 2 min then restart the computer.   copy your entire roaming folder DeepOnion to a jump drive or another drive.  when you are
done updating just drop the whole folder into the roaming folder and start your onion wallet up.
I will be upgrading from windows 8 to windows 10 so roaming folder data of deeponion won't matter if i copy it to new windows?Won't it create problems as both are different versions of windows?

it shouldnt matter but the only thing you truly need is the wallet.dat and for safety make multiple backups before proceeding. The blockchain dont take that long to update anyway.
hmm, the only thing you really need is your private key.  Smiley
You should notice this in every case!

Technically you're correct, realistically it's horrible advice.

Grab the whole wallet.dat, dumping the private key is asking for trouble unless you are absolutely certain there are no hidden change addresses.
File -> Backup Wallet is simple and the best advice for newer users.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Identified Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 03, 2017, 04:33:07 AM
It's been years since there has been any confirmed Satoshi communications. The article makes it sound like he's still actively involved in the project and contacting people. Not to say he may not be, for all I know he is involved using various aliases. (If so Hi Satoshi, thanks for your work!). Of course why would the real Satoshi want to come forward? Being worth that kind of money causes security issues. Better to live on in anonymity and chuckle at various articles like these.

Did any of you receive the 7th round already? I haven't yet.
You and hundreds of other users suddenly were blacklisted from the airdrop. Check out your deeponion.org status to see if you've been blacklisted or not.  If you are blacklisted or denied, look in the DO community forums under support and you can at least lodge a complaint.  As it is you missed out on 7.

@BeggarInCryptos Like you, I’m all for removing people who cheat and spam, but it looks like quite a lot of loyal supporters were affected by this today. I’m optimistic however that if the team is thinking long term, they will review each case and maybe also the programming of the bot over the weekend.
Code can always do something odd and unexpected, especially on a volunteer non-paid project like a crypto coin. "It's not a bug, it's a feature" does happen. However to suddenly drop lots of previous backers is unexpected. For a very busy forum backed coin that is doing the biggest air drop on these forums to have rule following backers shrivel up so badly doesn't make much sense. I'd blame some new procedures not acting as anticipated.  I'm sure the devs are scrambling to figure out what's happening, will wait for the analysis to see what's going on.

86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: September 01, 2017, 02:21:41 AM
Thanks for the info on yourself and what you'll be doing with the coin. I'm glad Max didn't join the White Walker's army as a dead coin.. there is some life to Max after all. At one time it had a large following so perhaps this will bring a few back. I still have a small bit of them and instead of dumping for nothing I'll hang on and see what happens. Good luck on updating the project.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]--★★BumbaCoin★★-- POS X11 on: September 01, 2017, 02:11:28 AM
Thanks for the link, i just signed up there and got 15 free bumba and 2 doge.

touchmycoin.com has added DeepOnion to the list of available coins. You can win ONION with BUMBA, and also get 25 BUMBA for a small bit of ONION. Check it out..

https://touchmycoin.com/toptwo/
Welcome zopply

Don't just use the site as a faucet and take your coins and run. If you bid in at least one auction a day you will get free daily BUMBA.  Or better yet, use those coins to win more. ONION has risen to $4 a coin, or get some more DOGE with the BUMBA and vice versa. You usually come out ahead by bidding.
88  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AML/KYC Explained on: August 31, 2017, 05:10:36 PM

Thanks for sharing,

But i think that Aml/Kyc it's just a formality & does Not protect anyone from being scammed. As you all must be knowing about MtGox, the biggest fraud done under Bitcoin World, and even it was complied with Aml/Kyc laws. But this Aml/Kyc does nothing other than shutting down the small Enterprises and other small minded Business who trying to survive here & there. Its just a LOOPHOLE to Escape.

Of course is LOOPHOLE.
This shit is made to control common working people not the
Elite so they can seize your hard earned money in case you rebel.

So what about Panama Papers?
It seem all legal Wink Nobody is mentioning anything like it never occurred.

The Panana Papers didn't have many from the USA in it, was mostly european. I've heard a few passing comments on some getting in trouble but that's not where I get most of my news.
89  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AML/KYC Explained on: August 31, 2017, 06:34:08 AM
I'd like to propose some changes to KYC/AML rules.  Criminals have been known to use their ill gotten gains to eat at restaurants and shop in grocery stores.  I guess criminal activity can work up an appetite.  It is incumbent upon restaurants to ensure that the money their customers are paying has come from legitimate sources.  All restaurants should ask for ID and a utility bill before serving customers.  They also need to ask their customers for their employer information and annual income.  Self employed customers can produce a business license or other such documentation to prove the legitimacy of their income.  Grocery stores also need to comply with these rules but in addition, grocery stores should ask for social security numbers as well.  Maybe then we can protect children and fight Al Qaeda ISIS.

Government AML regulations put the burden on financial institutions, not regular businesses.  Many banks are choosing not to accept anonymous cash deposits into bank accounts... such as JP Morgan Chase, which now only allows people to deposit cash into their own account.

Any cash deposit or cash withdrawal of more than $10,000 is required to be reported to the Federal government.

This is such a nonsense, you're really controlled at the end of the day, i hope we will not get same issues with coinbase or other exchanges operation in USA or EU

Chase is getting worse with cash deposits. They now request your ID when putting cash into your own account. It's a business account, businesses take cash for work. Oddly enough if I use the ATM and do a cash deposit no ID is required. Or a night deposit.  Go to a teller and they'll need an ID. I tried to ask why big brother was so bothersome, the last teller had no idea what I was referring to by big brother.
90  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know about next pump? on: August 29, 2017, 08:03:19 AM
by joining trade groups like www.whalespump.com

Do you have any personal history of actually using that service? If so how did it turn out for you? 0.1 BTC for a service that gives no actual examples makes me wonder. It could be entirely legit. Although a nice website alone may not be enough enticement for me to give them a try.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any new airdrop coins? on: August 29, 2017, 07:59:33 AM
Deeponion has been growing their community nicely with their airdrop. Simple enough rules, easy to sign up. Sure there are some posting requirements but decent, quality posts on a forum site is really not all that overly hard. I will be surprised if any airdrops can get any traction for the next 33 weeks of deeponion running theirs.

92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best way to promote a CryptoCoin? on: August 29, 2017, 07:57:04 AM
Having a coin actually usable at a few places would be a nice change from alt coins that don't have a use other than exchanges. The typical things of faucets and having at least one gaming site to use the coin should be a given. Something more interesting or unique may help promote a coin also.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waves in December! on: August 29, 2017, 07:29:51 AM
Smart contracts are coming to waves supposedly by year end. They already have a large community of users and have a pro-active approach on developing useful features. I hope it keeps growing,  I won't be surprised when they get into the top 10 of market cap coins.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much will DeepOnion be worth? on: August 29, 2017, 07:26:48 AM
If the devs successfully roll out DeepSend - anonymous transactions - then they join a small list of crypto that handles that sort of transaction. Tor p2p networking, combined with real anonymous transactions, would make it really stand out. The more differentiating factors the better for pricing.  At the current rate, if it stays growing as it is, puts it around $20 by the end of the air drops.

95  Other / Politics & Society / Re: “Weather wars” theorists claim Hurricane Harvey was engineered... on: August 29, 2017, 07:16:29 AM
Natural news, really? I mean if Alex Jones and info wars didn't at least spout about it how can we give it any validity Smiley  Although I joke, the thought that infowars has press credentials to the white house is scary. I guess they're the real fake news?
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost private key years ago... on: August 29, 2017, 07:05:04 AM
One of my collegues had the thought that as I said it was on my dropbox at one stage that was sync'd to my old laptop (which is hopefully still in work storage!) we can look on there.

My dropbox account isn't live anymore Sad

And yes, I'm pretty mortified as this the one
https://blockchain.info/address/1FXavuV1rjJicYau2md7pa22Q3P4HEcMLN

Around $2 worth in 2010.

Have you talked to dropbox to see if they happen to archive closed accounts? I'd talk to the data recovery experts. Some firms managed to pull data from drives from the twin towers after they fell. If they can handle that sort of damage an overwritten file may be easy for them to get back.
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining rigs instead of heaters for winter! on: August 29, 2017, 06:58:26 AM
I actually did this a few years ago when bitcoin spiked in late 2013. I bought 50 x 290x video cards. Had a semi truck show up delivering pallets of goodies. I had over 100 AMPs of power draw all winter long. The boiler never kicked on. I spaced them around the house and kept them out of the bedrooms enough to not be overly loud and I still had to open windows since it was too warm otherwise.   I had to put a few machines other than the house as I ran out of breaker space.   Once the weather got nicer I sold most things on ebay and craiglist for what I paid for.  I primarily mined MAX as that was rather profitable, changing it up when other coins were worth mining.  I came out money ahead so it was a nice experiment but after that winter alt - ASICs were hitting so it wasn't worth doing any longer.

The whole winter I half expected cops to knock on the door because of the spike in electrical use and the non-standard heat making it look like a grow house!
98  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: paypal chargeback questions and and would this prevent it? on: August 29, 2017, 06:46:55 AM
You realize you may never be able to use paypal again? They do require a lot of info to get accounts nowadays and matching you up with a closed account won't be overly hard. They are still one of the most common payment services online and if you use ebay it's required.  If you just want to buy bitcoin with a CC, use coinbase. They allow that.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: August 29, 2017, 06:34:01 AM

New v0.9.4 wallet is now available for download!  Find out more at https://blog.maxcoinhub.io.  Reboot and Refresh!

Did you take over max because it was a dead coin with a potential community ready to go, or did you get passed the torch from max himself - or whomever was running it for him? The development update didn't seem to cover that part.

How can u find the person who dumped his airdrops? The dumpers are ruining the market for everyone else
ONION is still up 36% from yesterday. I wouldn't call that ruining the market at all.  Also for all we know it's not a dumper but someone who was solely buying and selling on the exchange.
