I wonder if there is a lack that Evan cannot calculate and that is condemned to be manipulated by DDoS maniac charlatans among the market?
Is DarkSend delayed to 14 June?
If there occurs a problem, DarkCoin will be history. Are developers aware of this fact?
Darksend works, masternode payments don't. The update on the 14th will enable masternode payments, but in a different way the last update.

Anybody else raise a bit of an eyebrow at the "no forks" part of Evan's post? If that can be done, then why did we try to hard fork in the first place? Was the original method really thought through and the best option to pay masternodes selected? Or is there some compromise in implementing forkless payments that is now being ignored becuase of the chaos over the last few days? And then there is the obvious increasing of the masternode incentive (20%, multiple tickets) which I guess is fine... but is also a convenient price lifeboat.
My wallet has remained closed during this mishap and I have no plans to dump any part of my modest stash, but I have a lot of questions right now. Anybody that has any insight (Evan himself is best, but that is hoping for too much) that could answer some of these questions would be appreciated.
Or maybe I am being too skeptical and nobody else sees anything odd here...
There were originally two strategies for masternode payments. One requires a hardfork and one doesn't. I originally decided to do the one that does, because you can't cheat as a pool operator. But, that comes with a price. The code must reject cheating blocks and that's what caused the forking issue. The other way is to setup the client to pay nodes in a provably fair way. If the pool doesn't pay the correct amount to the correct node, we'll know and we'll shame them. We'll get miners to move to honest pools. Like others have suggested, all of the groundwork has been laid. I have implemented the masternodes, the election system for payments and it's compatible with this soft fork. So why 20% fees for masternode payments? This essentially will create twice as many nodes and create a much higher cost to spy on the network. It also creates a larger feedback loop for the price (because as darkcoin is taken out of the supply, it drives the price up), which is good for all of the investors and security of DarkSend. Miners will get less coin, but it's been proven time and time again that when you decrease the coins generated the price will just go up to meet the cost of mining. My goal with Darkcoin has always been to take the #2 spot from Litecoin. I believe we have the best chance we've ever had now and these changes will actually help realize that goal.
As for my communication? Lately I've just had my nose to the grindstone, coding all of the time. I intend to be much more involved with the community in the future. This will include getting a team of software developers and managing the vision of the project. I think my time might be better spent in the future doing interviews, speaking at conferences and being Darkcoin's figurehead. I agree. Delaying a couple of weeks won't matter long term as long as it works properly. I think it's more important to have the payments work as they are intended to, than implement a stopgap solution.

I am just going to throw out there what I said the other day... I wish I could find the article I read, but I am sure someone else read the same thing. I don't always understand where people come up with their analysis, but so far he seems dead on, and I am encouraged at the possibilities still.... not wavering one bit.
To recap, he stated that so far DRK has followed the same pattern over and over (I think he said it has happened 5-6 times already), and that is the price of DRK climbs 5x, and then has a 40% sell-off.
Well, the price peaked at .0277 btc before this latest drop started...
Using that number, .0277 x .6 = .01662
This is right about where we have seen the price finally settle after some valleys & peaks trading around this level.
So assuming he is right, sometime in the next couple of weeks the coin could be heading upwards to the .0831 neighborhood ($48.04 based on current price of BTC).
Just repeating what I read really, but until I see different I think it is the best analysis I have seen.
I think DRK now faces 3 barriers to price rises: 1. People fell the growth has already been. 2. Uncertainty about the technology after the hard fork issues. 3. A lot of competition in the anonymity space.

question I download the new wallet and my coins are not showing up and my old addresses are gone how do I fix this I have my back up dat file but the wallet is not seeing it do I need to delete the block change
Is the wallet.dat in the right folder? Did you delete EVERYTHING except your wallet.dat and darkcoin.conf from that folder first? where should the dat file be I change the name to darkcoin.dat does this matter. I did delete everything except the dat file and i dont rember seeing a file called darkcoin.conf before I ran the the new wallet all my records of receiving and sending coins gone but if I cant get my coins back its no big deal it was not much You need to put you .dat file in here C:\Users\ USER\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin, and yes it must be named 'wallet.dat'.

You need to navigate to here C:\Users\ USER\AppData\Roaming\DarkCoin (I'm assuming your on Windows) and re[[lace the wallet.dat with the one you backed up.

I'm getting an odd problem with my client.
Every time I try to send, it alters the amount to 0 and erases the address, calls it a send to self of 0DRK and still shows confirms... Damn strange.
Restarted client. Now different effect...
Only applies to using darksend. regular send works fine.
Waiting for entries 1/3. Stays that way until a block pops, then says idle and poof, like the darksend attempt never happened... Absolutely no log output in regard to it.
I'm not even sure where to look... Fuckin' weird...
Now spontaneously back to "payment to yourself" shit... Address is definitely not mine...
Darksend is just plain broken.
It just timed out while waiting for other inputs. Nothing ended up being sent anywhere, that's all. Working as intended within beta limitations. I've probably tried to use Darksend 10 times, and every time it has "timed out", surely this can't be right.

Looks the network has stabilized. Any news on the MN fix and release date/time?
Yes has been stable. We what to do next? Wait for Evan to get out of bed, so he can tell us his plan.

The developers made a big mistake by not updating the website correctly. It still provides the old incorrect wallet version. Where is the darkcoin.io webmaster???
Let them sleep/work/have a social life a little bit, no ? Work lots, sleep a little, no social life.

Has Evan put out an official statement about the next step/timing?
That might stop the speculation and silence the trolls (it's funny how they're nowhere to be seen during DRK's growth).
It's like 5:00am where Evan lives, I think we can let him sleep for a few more hours.

Hello,
Where can I find the .11 version wallet for windows? Can't found it in darkcoin.io
Thanks!
It's here https://www.darkcoin.io/getstarted.htmlIgnore the " *** PLEASE UPDATE TO 0.4.8 OR 10.8.8 ***", it's wrong.

Buy Low Sell High and... Cash Out.
I took my eye off the ball and lost 18% of my trading assets. It shan't happen again. DarkCoin is not fit to be an investment vehicle... and it won't so long as the developers keep using it as an experimental platform.
DRK is an experimental platform.

The resilience in the price is amazing.
Also, nearly 1,500 pages (or 30,000 posts).

If you haven't already done so, start buying those DRKs to get yourself a master node.
They're already too expensive for a lot of people, $15,000.

Anyone guess the number of node ops? I'm betting it's under 50. And we'll all be logged in to our MNs, getbalance-ing or getinfo-ing like loons. Actually from a tinfoil hat perspective, it's only the node ops that need compromising by the forces of evil. We need more ops, not just more nodes. The wallet is telling me there are 285, higher than I would have thought. 285 masternodes, but run by how many people? That is something we will probably never know.
