There are quite a few that have a hope though. These are the ones that have an actual developing team and the people involved are skilled and enjoy their involvement, without only looking for short term gains.
Right now there are established coins that are working and don't give up and people that want to succeed and not only get rich quick after a short pump.
That might be the only somewhat legit reason to hold such coins but I would consider that more like a form of moral support for developers than a gainful investment. Technological innovation is not a guarantee of profit. It needs a lot of other things to be successful including marketing and lots of good old-fashioned luck. Not everyone is interested in crypto and blockchain for making a profit, many investors are here for tehcolgoy+blockahin facilities. The developing projects have a good chance to change the look of the crypto ecosystem but only strong teams have a persistent vision. As an advantage of adoption, the more people will be able to change their lives, the unbanked people have the chance to use financial projects, for example. I should have said "success" instead of "profit". So you're right, success doesn't have to be just profit. I would still say that in order to achieve success you need more than the technology. There have been many technologically-superior products that never caught on or lost out to inferior ones. But I can understand if someone is holding a coin as a form of support for the team or the technology or the idea. I'm more concerned about those who are waiting for "altcoin season" and expecting profit. |

Martingale doesn't work ever anywhere. I'm not sure if you were joking about it. To win with martingale you would need unlimited funds (obviously impossible) and no max bet limit (again obviously impossible).
The best way to make a profit in gambling is to not gamble. It's entertainment - like alcohol and nearly-naked ladies, and you probably don't expect a profit in those activities.

Bitcoin is everyone's choice when the price goes down, altcoin is a good investment choice because there are many projects that have good products and transaction speeds that are better than Bitcoin, current market conditions are indeed on the decline, ethereum and LTC are good altcoins, prices right now it is going down but when you see LTC and ethereum prices going up like 2017, there sometimes you will feel lost because you have sold it  I could always buy the coins back at a much lower price than I sold them for and it would be true for almost anyone who sold over the last couple of years. as far i know, there are 2 sentiment in alt. those are bearish and bullish. bullish in altcoin is called altseason this is bearish market to altcoin. so most of alt including top 10 altcoin would be dump. looks like no hope to rise it makes many people scared including you and considering to sell all your alt, it is not bad decision. as long as you sell higher than you buy  No, you should sell it because you can sell it higher now than later. It doesn't matter what the price was when you bought it. Cut your losses. If you don't have a time machine to go back you can't change the price you bought. But you are still in control of when to sell it. |

There have been many discussions about this but maybe not that much about what the OP is saying (commitment). The problem... commitment is more like a goal than a solution. Did you mix things up a bit? A cypherpunk is a person with good understanding of cryptography who applies it in practice to achieve privacy and independence, they may or may not be interested in cryptourrency. "Cryptocurrency enthusiast" doesn't require one to have any deep understanding of cryptography.
No, I didn't. I think they shouldn't be called "cryptocurrency enthusiasts" if they don't understand cryptography or don't use it "to achieve privacy and independence". They can be called bitcoiners or bag holders or bounty hunters, but true enthusiasts should spend at least a few hours educating themselves but most importantly - practice what they preach. |

Actually, I didn't mention any data. I am aware that the results of the game are fair in a completely random and provably fair.
But my observation was a different claim that users were more likely to be busted when they do a high amount of betting.
There are different statements.
If it's random it can't be busting some users more often than others. Or are you playing captain obvious by saying that low probability bets are less likely to win? |

Not much to discuss, it was obvious for a long time. I used to work as a sys admin (glorified user support really) and was fighting middle management all the time because they wanted users to have complex passwords and change them every 90 days so of course everyone's password was on a post-it. Then they made a policy "no post-its on monitors" so post-its ended up in drawers, on flower pots, and so on.

Is there any proof that this was a winning bet since it was onchain? I don't remember how the bets were handled back in those days. It was probably based off the hashed block. There should be some way to check whether it was a win or not.
It was based on a daily secret value hashed with the TX ID. It was not based on a block because it was instant zero confirmation game. But the daily secrets are no longer available on the website so it's impossible to verify the bets. Maybe someone archived the secrets but then you would have to trust the archive. I don't think the effort would be worth it tho. OP isn't really interested in this, just posted the thread and disappeared can't even get the amount right. |

I'm sorry this happened to you. I had all the private keys, passwords, etc saved in my email draft & I had 2 fa SMS verification didn't know that someone can break it easily.
Sounds like it was webmail something like gmail so it doesn't have to be a break in to your account to steal your information. It can be many other things like a cross site scripting attack from another tab or a rogue browser extension or malware on your computer. |

What about CoinJoin? I advice you to try it. Easy method, use Wasabi wallet, you can send a CoinJoin transaction and you will receive new coins from an unknown address. CoinJoin is a wallet added feature to mix inputs from different senders and split into the output addresses. In simple words , You will receive btc from a different input from which it has originally sent.
You can always use Mixers as you can also use another anonymous blockchain like Grin or Monero.
CoinJoin doesn't send you coins from an unknown address, not exactly. It sends coins from a large set of inputs to a large set of outputs. The input set you're getting coins from includes your own inputs (keep in mind that it's trustless so your coins are sent and received in one TX and never leave your custody), it just makes it harder to prove which outputs are yours, depending on how many joins are there in the TX and what the amounts are. Wasabi tries to make the inputs and outputs identical in size so that also adds a bit of privacy but you can't mix amounts lower than ~0.1 BTC. Usually you need multiple rounds of CoinJoin to get a reasonable level of mixing. You also have to be extremely careful with what you do with change which is often an issue with Wasabi due to the 0.1 BTC minimum. Accidentaly merging change with clean coins can undo the mixing. This is different from custodial mixing services that send you coins that are completely separete from your inputs and can usually handle odd amounts except chipmixer with its premade chips. |

180 satoshis per post that's very poor. If the forum gets any posts it's going to be bot farms. A real person won't waste their time for 1.5 cent per post. People who are really interested in the site and don't care about payment will be burried under bot posts. |
