81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 05, 2016, 07:07:37 PM
I was mining on Nanopool since launch and since my estimates are more and more below whattomine's calculator I started to point one rig to supernova for comparison and made a interesting discovery:

Nanopool:

Nano pays me for the time I was mining about 0.133832 ETC

I've had a second rig, exactly same setup and same hashrate point at supernova while I was mining at nano:

So supernova pays me about 0.25 ETC within exactly the same time..
THIS IS 50% LESS ON NANO Huh!!!!

I've pointed my rigs now to a few other pools and will compare too, something is clearly wrong here !!!

PS: Yes, I waited a bit to get everything mature on Nanopool as well - nothing changed !
And yes, I started at exactly the same time, so difficulty was the same as well !

Very interesting.  I have some hashpower on nano.  Let us know how you get on.
Looks like i will be switching to supranove if that is the case.  I mine groestlcoin at supranova without issue.

Not too keen on having all my eggs in one basket

Remember supranova are giving a 10% bonus ATM and diff has come down a little.

Yeah i thought the bonus is already active, i've asked ocminer if this is the case but I think it is not yet already

Do you have the Bonus active already ?

I saw strange behaviour earlier when comparing pools:

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Warning] ETC Pool mining pays out HALF what it should on: August 03, 2016, 09:15:52 AM
I've had exactly the same issue with nano a few days ago, switched to suprnova and my payments are on spot since then, even a bit higher than expected because there are bonuses.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 02, 2016, 09:20:51 PM
Can't get my miner to work on Miningpoolhub's ETC pool.. all shares I submit are invalid... using Genoil in stratum mode.  Anyone else seeing this?

I tried too with claymore and it didn't work, try etc.suprnova.cc - works fine
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 02, 2016, 01:28:41 PM
I found suprnova working better than nanopool with Claymore...anybody else find this? Also...somebody posted about difficulty rising and price rising, but mining is not changing in profitability...maybe so, but I never started mining ETC for 'current value', but for the platform and it's likely future value....so yeah, mining and getting 3-4 coins a day seems small..at the "present price", but if we could mine and get 3-4 btc per day, who would not mine btc..lol??

I have about 30% more payout per day since I switched to suprnova.. should have switched earlier Sad
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 31, 2016, 10:48:47 AM

Can you tell me how to use Claymore on your pool with DCR ?
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 29, 2016, 08:27:21 PM
in this time, what is the pool most profitable to mine etc?

Suprnova works best for me - no problem whatsover, you can withdraw at anytime, only nethash is not shown but thats no big deal for me
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 28, 2016, 08:19:03 AM
I'm only getting about 1etc/day with about 80MH/s... thats quite dissappointing as whattomine calcs about 5.509083/day.
Mining on ethc.coin-miners.info... any suggestions? Thanks

Mate try to mine on etc.suprnova.cc for almost the same MH/s a get 4 etc.

I have much lower stales/rejects and higher efficiency on suprnova too
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 27, 2016, 03:46:30 PM
ok, experiment done, i mined with 165mh/s for 24 hours on suprnova. i got roughly 5 etc. so for me it's less profitable than eth??

Yes, at the moment ETH is more profitable than ETC for mining.

@ocminer: can you open an ETH pool again ? I'd like to switch between the both to mine which is more profitable
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: July 26, 2016, 02:11:23 PM
@ocminer is API enabled on your Pool ? I'd like to compare ETH/ETC and mine what is more profitable automatically
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 21, 2016, 04:11:23 PM
This coins should be renamed to "ImperatorCoin" or "DictatorCoin"
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: July 19, 2016, 08:16:46 PM
Suprnova just hit their first block, and are paying a bonus 20%. Come join at sia.suprnova.cc
but you will need to download their stratum version sgminer from site.

jouh, great for beginners... "Use this SGMiner for mining !" links to a file- and folder-clutter.
Must I compile this miner by myself? A completely empty Help/Getting started page is also great.
No thanxx, IŽll stay at Siamining.com. Works fast and easy with Gominer.

Ah sorry, I must have missed this, fixed now Smiley

https://sia.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=gettingstarted

oc can you contact claymore for adding stratum support to his miner ? I'd like to mine ETH and SIA together. also you should reopen your ETH pool Wink
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred/Siacoin GPU Miner v5.1 (Windows/Linux) on: July 19, 2016, 06:51:08 PM
Can you please add Stratum Support for SIA at https://sia.suprnova.cc

I have 99.6% efficiency there with stratum and about the same speed with the Windows miner by wolf which is much better
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HOdlcoin should switch to hard-fork or not ? on: July 03, 2016, 10:22:03 AM
Maybe you want to post this into the thread itself ? Smiley

Dev is aleady deleting my posts
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / HOdlcoin should switch to hard-fork or not ? on: July 03, 2016, 09:51:26 AM
As the dev is deleting my posts of the poll in his self moderated thread, here a separate post:

FreeTrade, the Dev of HOdlcoin suddenly announced that he would hard-fork the coin and switch immaturity to 1 year of new mined blocks, this would result in Miners having to HOdl for one year before they can actualy spend their coins:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1317918.msg15446785#msg15446785

IMHO this is bad as it will result in a freeze of the coin for one year and only already mined funds will be available for trading.

A strange method of voting was used by FreeTrade which strangely turned out to be 99% yes and only 1 % no votes, however, I don't even understand how to vote there and the vote was for only one day which is absolutely ridicolous.

Please support the poll here and vote what you would think is best for the coin.

"yes" means you support the switch to 1 year coin immaturity and
"no" means leave the coin how it is.

Please vote here:

98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ħ [HODL] Fork at Block 86000 - Miners Must HODL on: July 03, 2016, 08:29:16 AM
- Voting has been going on for more then 2 days now
 - Based on reading this thread there is many opponents
 - Yet only 90299 coin (in 2 adresses) are voting "no"

How come?

You know what they say: "Put your hodlings where your mouth is"

I fail to see how a vote open for a little over a day is representative of the community's opinion at large. I did not even see the motion until after it was passed and I would hazard a guess that it was/is the same for many others. The speed through which this motion passed definitely gives the appearance of impropriety. I support my assertion with the fact that the software changes are already in testing phase. It seems a little too pre-planned.

Ideally I think motions should have more time for discussion, and a longer voting period before any action is taking. On this occassion, I'm acting rapidly because 1. I think the coin was in a parlous state and needed rapid action 2. The motion enjoyed rapid and nearly unanimous support of voting HOdlers 3. Markets reacted well to the motion 4. The motion acted to replace a much more controversial motion of large cuts to the block reward.

However if you think i've acted improperly, you're free to file a motion of censure, or of no confidence, or a motion to reverse this change.

I asked before how to vote and what this change means but got no answer, i'm also against the change, how can I vote against it ?

99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ħ [HODL] Fork at Block 86000 - Miners Must HODL on: July 02, 2016, 07:08:32 PM
Fork At Block 86000

There is a fork at block 86000 in accordance with the Nutocracy motion -
https://nutocracy.herokuapp.com/arguments/that-block-rewards-should-remain-unchanged-in-amount-but-required-to-be-hodled-for-a-period-of-1-year-https-www-reddit-com-r-hodl-comments-4qpx9g

From block 86000, miners will be required to HODL the block reward for a period of 1 year to create a valid block.
In anticipation of a reduced hashrate, the diff will be set to a fixed lower rate for blocks 86000 to 86025 and from there will adjust to the new hashing power of the network.

The release is being finalized, from there, new binaries will be compiled and released.

Hmm, I don't quite understand how this is possible ? Only pools cannot send the coins or even if I switch back to solo mining I cannot send the coins before one year goes by ?
