Looks like Paypal is back as a payment method. Are we not doing the Paypal refund thing? Did I miss something?

That's a good question. Maybe GAW and PayPal hugged it out?  Kiss

I'd be fine with our old PayPal pre-orders still being valid, but an official announcement would be great. I was thinking of placing another order soon, but if PayPal is really a valid payment option I'd most likely use that.

Also, just like everyone else on here I'd really like to help beta test Project Prime.  Wink

Hey guys, pictures coming up soon Smiley

Grin Excellent! Been looking forward to them all day.

Hopefully tonight we'll get a look at The Fury along with the other units.  Grin

Has anyone else had their orders canceled yet due to using PayPal? I know that they are going to be canceled and then we reorder, but mine is still stuck pending. I'm hoping that it cancels soon so the funds are released back to me; I want to get another order in soon. Smiley

There is a silver lining here. One of the things we will be implementing is accepting alt coins. We will be accepting the major ones very soon Smiley

That is very good news. The more places that accept alt coins the better. Cheesy

You also still accept credit cards as well which helps lessen the loss of PayPal as an option.

Any chance of the GAW25 coupon coming back?  Grin

GAW MINERS
PAYPAL ACCEPTANCE
Date: May 13th, 2014

We regretfully inform all GAW Miners customers that we are no longer accepting payments through PayPal effective immediately.

As you may be aware, our astounding growth over the last few months has lead to an explosive growth in the number and variety of customer PayPal transactions.  These payment, pre-order, which range in size from a few to hundres of thousands of dollars, and originating from over 100 countries has created certain issues with PayPal regarding customer identity, fraud and regulatory authority compliance.  We are actively engaged with PayPal to expeditiously resolve these matters.  Please bear with us while we work towards an early restoration of PayPal facilities to our customers.

In the interim, we are pleased to accept credit cards, wire transfers and Bitcoin payments.

Ouch. I figured that it had something to do with PayPal being unhappy. They have really taken a negative stance on any business dealing with cryptocurrency mining.  Undecided

I presume that those of us who have pre-ordered one of your miners using PayPal before this issue occurred will be unaffected? I hope so . . .  Wink

I was wondering if there was an official announcement about removing PayPal as a payment option? I find it sort of odd that I can't find an official announcement about this issue.

I went to order another Fury last night, but didn't see PayPal as an option. I contacted support and I was told that GAW Miners is having to renegotiate a new agreement with PayPal due to their sales volume.

Is there an ETA on when that new deal will close and you'll be accepting PayPal again?

I'd have him contact support, but it's not worth bothering GAW if it's not a standard policy. I mean we're talking about $6 Wink, and I know that their support department is going to get swamped with this GS Blade pricing issue.

Have him contact GAW support; GAW is really terrific at handling customer concerns.

Maybe I will have him. At the current price with a different coupon ($15 off $75 or more) it's more like a $20 difference for ordering 12 hours sooner. : /

Funny thing is that if any money is refunded; it'll most likely go right back to them towards another ASIC from them in a few weeks.  Cheesy

I'm quoting myself to give a quick update. Ended up having him contact support. GAWMiner customer support did a great job resolving this issue. Overall, we're both really happy with GAWMiner. Makes me even more excited that we have a Fury coming in June; great company deserves the business.  Grin

Two thumbs up for GAWMiner.  Cool

I have to say that I'm really impressed with how the CEO of GAW is handling this GridSeed issue. It's really rare to find a CEO who cares about their customers; especially in the ASIC business.

I have a quick question about GAW pricing policy though. My brother placed a few orders with GAW last night; one of them was for just a single GridSeed 5 chip. After using a coupon code it came out to ~$105
However, I see that today they've dropped the price of them down to $99; less than 12 hours after he ordered.

Do you guys know if they allow price adjustments if the item hasn't shipped yet? I know that there are a few companies out there that do this.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GAWMiner just put their new ASIC miner for sale on page on: May 04, 2014, 10:39:48 AM
These look interesting. I was thinking of pre-ordering The Fury, but that was before they revised the sales page and removed the Raspberry Pi.

I like that they are guaranteeing the delivery date as well, and I still might pre-order one. There are a lot of ASIC's on the horizon, but this seems like a safe bet on getting them in a timely fashion. Hopefully GAW will release a video or pictures of the actual miners running.

At first I was thinking that they were going to be reselling Zeusminer equipment from reading the OP.

It'll be interesting to see how these turn out.

Looks like they are working on adding the new products to their site.
They've added a GAW Miner section to their store; empty for now.

However, I noticed that they have also pulled the 5 chip Gridseed ASIC's as well. They're just listing the Gridseed Blades. : / I wonder if they're bringing them back?

Here is the email message for those interested (From GAW Facebook): http://us8.campaign-archive2.com/?u=cdea713669f1600ffb2230df5&id=63c705016c

EDIT: Looks like they're naming them The Fury; The Black Widow; The Falcon; and The Warmachine. I'm guessing that they're Scrypt.
92  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Top ASIC Miners to Invest in? on: May 03, 2014, 03:37:01 AM
is there still any sense to invest in miners? or it's better just to buy BTC?

Right now the prices are way to high on the new hardware coming out. From what I've seen even the cheapest 1TH+ miners coming out won't ROI unless BTC value rockets.
However, you would have just made more money by buying directly.

We're either going to see a huge drop in ASIC prices or a huge spike in BTC pricing later this year.
