Visual Comparison of Issues

Login Page :

The background is virtually a redesigned Android Lollipop Wallpaper (https://www.google.com/search?site=imghp&tbm=isch&q=android+lollipop+wallpaper) and a low-res one too .

This is the actual background right here. Its resolution is 1600x900. My screen has a resolution of 1920x1080 and I can already see artifacts on the contrasting parts of the background, and 1920x1080 is pretty much the standard these days as resolution goes. There's quite a number of people these days with 2560x1440 resolution monitors and even some with 4K monitors. The background would look terrible on any of these monitors.

Visual Comparison :

Okay so here is my comparison of some of the bigger issues that I've found in the current UI and how I've fixed them in my version of the UI :

And yes also as a extra note, I don't fancy the bright blue header all that much, hence the removal of it in my UI.

I think we will add themes support, you will make your personal, maybe not in 0.2.1, because still a lot of work here, but in next versions Smiley
But i agreed with some points in your review.

In the testnet, 'Register as delegate' option is showing Registration fee: 10,000 XCR.

And second passphrase fee as 100 XCR.

Ofcourse no one is going to use these options in testnet but shouldn't they show the latest agreed fees just to avoid confusion?

It's just testnet, and there is old fees.
On mainnet still current fees.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | DPoS | 100% own code | Dapp Store on: May 29, 2015, 12:59:13 AM
I think a lot of Crypti's problem is just that nobody has heard of its comeback from the PoT failure and its rebirth as a DPoS coin.  Somebody show me one news article on that topic.  I don't think you can.

As a DPoS coin, we need 101 individuals running nodes.  Currently there are only about a dozen or so, most of them Foundation with four newcomers still waiting for enough votes to get into the 101 Club.  There needs to be a recruitment to go from Foundation members running all the nodes to 101 people running nodes with 90% of them outside the Foundation.  Contacting a very targeted and selected 140 prior PoS/DPoS node runners from other coins is not spam.  I intend to make it an invitation to join us, which it is.  Getting them to set up Crypti nodes is a LOT more important than getting them to buy into a Crypti buy wall at Polo.

A new whitepaper, partnership with Corona on Dapps, fiat exchange on Coinomat and getting Cryptsy back on line would do a lot towards convincing a large proportion of these 140 Peercoin / Bitshare node runners to join us.  I'm waiting on the whitepaper for sure before pulling the trigger to contact them, and hopefully Coinomat and Cryptsy will not be far behind....

Current node runners from other coins joining us so Crypti can go from a 101 node DPoS network run by the Foundation to a 101 node DPoS network run by 101 individuals is the next major step for Crypti.  This will yield a lot of new credibility to expand from there.

I agree with you. We need to push up our marketing and I think we recently did a lot more than before. We will continue with it. If someone is here who knows a lot about marketing, he can gladly contact us. We accept every help we get. Also what I always say, spread the word. Talk about Crypti whenever you have a chance. Smiley

Just for clarification - what is the current status of BTER?  Are they going out of business or not?  Do we still want to push to get 16M XCR off of there or is it back to being a routine place to exchange XCR for BTC?  Are they accepting XCR deposits?

Well, they are working. I don't know how long they will be, but for now it seems like they are trying hard to stay in the business. I wouldn't have huge amount of coins on the exchange though. Smiley

Mandy, I will also be voting for you this evening when I get home to my secure computer.  You are correct that there is a disinterest in voting new noderunners up and I am as guilty of that as anybody.  So hold on for 24 hours, you're about to go up (along with the other standby delegates).

I have asked Coinomat when their cutoff is for monthly coin selection and I intend to flood their poll with paid votes just before the deadline to get Crypti to the top.  We need fiat exchange now and I'm gonna try to make that happen.

I'm also waiting for the new whitepaper to come out before trying to go on a major campaign to recruit a bunch of Peercoin and Bitshares none runners to be Standby delegates.  I've got a list of 130 total usernames (90 of them also have accounts here at Bitcointalk).   These guys are prime candidates to run a Crypti node, since they already have run a PoS / DPoS node elsewhere.  Like I say, I am waiting for an updated white paper to steer them to...when will that be out?

Hey, maybe they'll buy into that big Poloniex wall...

We absolutely need to get Cryptsy fixed NOW.  I've written about it to them.  Can the devs take this on as a priority and keep hammering it until they fix it?

I'm keep contacting Cryptsy, but they don't respond. If someone has a good connection to them, please get in contact with them. :/

The whitepaper is in the work, and can be expected some time after v0.3.0 got released.

I think this type of thinking is part of the problem - people want others to go out there and SPAM everybody about this or that coin.

XCR is not ready yet! Hello!? Those that bought, great, we expect the devs to come through and fight through issues and problems that arise - they have shown they are up to the challenge. Once devs finalize custom block chains and dapps start rolling out - THEN we can start calling attention to the project.

Right now, the project is more or less in stealth - as these projects SHOULD BE, btw.

Why should the price get pumped up right now? Just so you can sell and make a profit? Either this entire project will evolve and people will enter this space OR the project will fail. At this stage, there is little reason to beg people to enter XCR if they are not already believers on what the protocol might be capable of.

We need to be constantly in the news, and we will be when founders will make great dapps. Until then we have very little to present. Crypti is a sleeper, an insider tip. Everyone who can get in now, will be greatly rewarded.

Hey Passion_ltc

Are you guys still on to launch the BETA tonight?

We are finishing last remarks on new UI, then Max will publish it Smiley
And in new version not only cool UI, but some new features too.

no one vote for delegate?

There were votes cast a few mins ago, from an account with 1.4 million XCR.  Was that you?

it's not me
i just waiting for someone vote for my delegate "China" to join the 101 club
the mechine had working very stable for 2 weeks now.
it's a delegate node in Beijing of China.it can help to improve the network sync speed here.

I will vote for you soon Wink

How do I check if I forge any blocks at the moment? My LA Vultr node started working worse and worse, so I deleted it and deployed the one in NY/NJ location instead of it, but as I see my uptime is keeping falling. Forging is enabled.

UPD: I checked my delegate through the web wallet, it showed that I wasn't forging. Will try to restart the server.

UPD2: It worked, my delegate is back online.

I had some problems with my Delegate at Vultr, too, and had to do a restart - see below.  Middle pix shows crash, bottom pix shows back to current nominal ops.

Anybody have any ideas what happened here or how to prevent it in the future?

We have seen some problems, looks like it memory leaks or something like this.
Please, send me your logs in PM. It will help us to fix it.

Thanks.

BTW, this could not happen if Crypti goes open source Roll Eyes

Speaking of this, what is the plan / timeline / rev number for Crypti to make its code public?

I can't say you now when, but we will publish source code soon.
But source code of previous versions, and i think without DPoS part.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | DPoS | 100% own code | Dapp Store on: May 08, 2015, 01:57:46 PM
i setup my second node before ,just to be a node ,not for forging.
i check my node today, and the block stopped at height 200592. i dont know why ,so i restart the server.and it sync again.
but when the height came to 210721,the height become Decreasing, change to 210650,to 210590,and to 210432 ,until i stop the app.js
i login the server and "forever stop app.js" and "forever start app.js" restart the client again.it became normal.
this Situation happened before. and i dont know why,is anyone can tell me ?
by the way, the sync in China is really slow!!! so it's my wish to setup more node to make the sync faster and more stable in China.

Send me details and log file in PM please.

Lin / Bter seems to have no interest in voting its 19M block of Crypti; perhaps it's time for the Foundation to pull its 11M block out of voting as well?

There's a possibility that Lin is waiting for it ) I'm kidding of course, but the foundation cannot rely on Lin's will.

Agreed, but at the moment even if Lin voted his block he could not make things worse than they currently are.  Not that things are all that bad, 93 out of 101 functioning Top Delegates is still a reasonably healthy system....

Well, 92 out of 101.  Looks like Hubtm.VR is offline, too.

So, remove votes from bad delegates and vote for new one.
Here is Luiz delegate write before and landgraf.paul (our dev) delegate.  Smiley
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | DPoS | 100% own code | Dapp Store on: May 04, 2015, 04:44:52 PM
still need some votes
i got 18%
need 5% more
i setup up two nodes now, please vote for me ,thanks guys ..

by the way ,i am Luiz
my delegate name.

Hey Luiz,

why do you have two nodes now? You are only allowed to forge with one account on one node. If you forge on two nodes with one account, it is dangerous for your client. (Forking)

i setup two nodes, one for delegate ,one for making the network faster in China.
i dont forge with two nodes.

I voted  Wink

Crypti v0.2.0a Release

The Crypti Foundation is taking every form of feedback very serious. Last week you all criticized the fee structure for a delegate registration, therefore we discussed it internally and decided to lower it. We don't want to create a fictional barrier for users, who want to help secure the network. This is why we lowered the delegate registration fee to 100 XCR (from 10,000 XCR before). Additionally we don't want to hinder people from making their accounts more secure, that's why we also lowered the 2nd passphrase initialization fee to 5 XCR (from 100 XCR before).

Important

This release took a bit longer, because we introduce a new system for updates. This system allows the client to activate the updates at a specific block height. Before this specific block height all fees will remain the same like before! But once it's passed the fees are automatically updated. Other cryptocurrencies are already doing it like that.

We decided to use the block height of 114,000! It's roughly in two days.

We are looking for additional active members becoming an active delegate, in order to accelerate this we have lowered the fees. If you register a delegate and have a node actively running, please promote it in our Delegates Section on our Official Crypti Forum!

Delegates by community members

Some community members already registered for being a delegate. The Crypti Foundation will reimburse the outstanding 9,900 XCR! Please send me a private message on our Official Crypti Forum with your delegate name and Crypti address, in which you want to receive your XCR. It's important that you send me the private message from the account, from which you promoted your delegate. Everyone who register a delegate between now and block 114,000 will not be reimbursed the 9,900 XCR.

Looking in logs found the reason for abnormal traffic pattern:

Got very many lines like this

Thanks for all your responces.

Quote from: GreXX
7. I personally believe the registration fee is too high. This will be an action item at our meeting on Sunday. I intend to propose lowering the registration fee to 1,000 XCR to register a delegate. I will also propose refunding the other 9,000 XCR already paid to those who registered prior to the change. After the meeting we will announce any changes. Like anything, it must come to a vote, so there is no guarantee.
The problem is lack of interest. What do you (or we) need is technology evangelists, who will popularize crypti "selling points"/features/technologies at bitsharestalk and nxtforum. There is not enough of them (features) today.

So I see the plan like this one:

1. Release 0.2.1 with new features (I heard once about "escrow" feature).
2. The 0.2.1 release must include new/beautifil wallet design.
3. The Delegate Rewarde Program must started at x5 rates at 0.2.1 relase.
4. Crypti evangelists must to populate this new features at BTT, nxtforum and bitsharestalk.

Sometimes I think that you guys think that after CBC release, or Dapp release it would be a wave of interest by itself, without marketing efforts. No, it wouldn't. All your future plans must include this negative assumption.

You are misunderstanding our lack of marketing. The network is in it's infancy as is our technology. We would rather build and test with a smaller dedicated community than throw 100,000 users at a new unproven technology. We have extensive marketing plans once all features are fully complete and we feel as though we have a market ready system. This will most likely be after CBC (which will launch the DApp store and entirely new wallet, which if I do say so myself, blows everything out of the water, including Mist).

So I'm guessing you also read this : https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/vitalik-buterin-conducts-ama-re-ethereum/   Wink

For those of who who didn't read the article it shows a screenshot of Mist (Ethereum's base client) :

As you can see it shows you how good the new Crypti wallet will look considering the Mist client already looks quite good, also it shows that the Crypti team are keeping an eye out on the "competition".

We already reviewed Mist, just wait for new Crypti Wallet Wink

I had no problems running 0.2.0 on Windows 8.1 from the start.
I uninstalled 0.1.9 and manually deleted the crypti folder in C:
and in appdata/local before installing 0.2.0.

Trying this, see if it works.

This worked! Thank you Malibusparky. I had initially deleted the Crypti folder from C: while ignoring the appdata/local folder. Deleting both folders and installing a fresh copy of 0.2.0 fixed it for me.

Thanks for response.
We will check Windows version asap.

For now try to use localhost after launch Windows:

If you can't sync, have any other problems.

Not a lot has moved! People probably don't know they can withdraw... I really want to see that BTER wallet obliterated. No more centralized exchanges holding funds please!

It's need to withdraw to enable new network on dpos.
As soon as we will see that on bter less then 50% we can start dpos network.
And after we release new versions Wink

We already finished part of new stuff and we wait for new wallet design to connect it all Smiley

Why does it always download blockchain after I install new version? Shouldn't it be stored somewhere on the computer?

The larger problem is that it needs 5 mins to load the blocks. This is slower than Bitcoin.

What do you mean? Can you explain in detail?

Well I start the client on a 3.3 GHz Core i5 and a SSD, the window comes up and loads the 250k blocks which takes 5 minutes.

First it's loading the blocks which are already on your computer (before the login screen). Then it's syncing to get the new blocks, which are not on your computer already (while, after login screen).

If it's taking you only 5 minutes for 260,000 blocks, that's pretty fast. At Bitcoin you need several days to sync. Wink

No it's NOT syncing, it's loading. The message says Loading block xx of yy in the middle of the window. After that you get the login screen, you login and in the right lower corner you see it's syncing new blocks which can take hours depending on how old your blockchain is (in my example loading took 5 minutes and syncing 15 minutes). It works just the same as with Bitcoin, the client is first loading the existing blockchain, then syncing the missing blocks, only that the loading part is 10 times faster with BTC.

Hi!
Thanks for response. I know about this problem too, and we will work on it in next releases.

Hello,
is anybody able to forge?

I´ve tried it for several weeks, but no blocks forged,.... I have +100.000 in my Wallet.

Unlike other POS coins, Cypti only needs 1000XCR to forge.  Having more XCR does not let you forge more often, like NXT.

The nodes forge randomly.  Look at your forging page.  DO you see blocks listed?  Those are the blocks you forged, with or without a reward.

In the past two weeks there has been very little XCR moving through the blockchain.  I have not forged a block for a reward for over a week as well. Poloniex keeps the XCR on their pool in a pool wallet, and you only trade tokens until you withdraw from the exchange.  Ditto for Bter and Cryptsy.  So, those transactions do not generate fees, as they are not forged in the blockchain.

Hang in there... Perhaps, as soon as today or tomorrow, Boris will be working with Bter to get them to update their wallet and then the withdraws of 65 million coins can start.  There will be a lot of fees earned for forging those blocks.

Once the amount of XCR at Bter is down to less than 25 million, we will be introducing 0.2 with DPOS.  That will be a radical change, and will enable DAPP and CBCs to be part of Crypti.

XCR will be breaking out of the "just another alt-coin" hole.

OK thanks.

At the forging panel it still schows me "No block generated" ;-/
-is there any chance to see that my wallet is really forging?

I still let it run an hope i earn a few coins if the big withdraw from the exchanges starts Wink

Check time on your node.
I see sometimes that some forgers has incorrect local time.
Better to sync from time servers.
