Sp_, any plans to release better Tether miner? Daily emission is 100-200 Million USD.

Gnasirator's post should be sticky.

This past week I needed to sync XCN from scratch on Ubuntu 17.10, I also needed to find a way to sync DRK from scratch on W10.

Some strong points made here today.
I respect @crysx point of view and also @Eddy-Thailand point of view.
Unfortunately, bx closed his doors to foreign traders half a year ago. I used to trade there and i even communicated on chat (google translate, of course) many times, in thai language.
So, a question for @Eddy-Thailand: Why should any of us (devs, supporters, community, etc) be interested in a market where we have no way to enter and participate?

Used to trade @bx.in.th too, started when XRP was 2,000sats @cryptsy and 8,000 sats @bx.in.th, Cryptsy deposits were disabled btw, some things just never change  Wink

Another question regarding trading @bx.th for Eddy. Now they want me to scan my passport (ok), want to know my nationality (ok, it's there in the passport anyways) and an address in Thailand (which I don't have).

You all know what comes to my mind next (cough). Knowing there is a chance I need to visit Thailand at some point and after hearing some stories about prisons there I decided not to trade there.

Do they really need a real address or just "some address"?

Good news for XCN.

OT: How many Nova coins paid discounted listing price @ Cryptopia? This just never ends  Smiley.

AEX XCN deposits:

"AEX access system is reconstructing for the faster speed. It will be recover within 3-7 days."

edit: Actually every coin there gives that same message  Smiley
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 GTX 970s on: January 13, 2018, 01:03:47 AM
$200/ 970 is too much.

My broken number bending calculator says 3x970 can do more than $20 daily.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 09, 2018, 03:41:52 PM
STOCKS has been struggling for a week now, deposits and withdrawals take hours/ days, tried many coins.

After bigger exchanges closed new registrations these smaller ones may get flooded too. There are people selling accounts already  Smiley

edit: Just as a FYI, looks like one AEX hot wallet is CQXNv3dUaXJJ5iAwsUQutDyxmSwN69u7oh and cold wallet CVPaxGgsteGgucAnzmA7EeTj5hzaLCfb7o.

Between 2017-09-27 03:06:16 PM UTC and 2017-12-18 08:48:05 AM UTC no transactions.
Between 2017-12-18 08:48:05 AM UTC and today they have been moving coins from account to another.

Could this mean we are getting closer to XCN relaunch?
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 09, 2018, 02:51:15 PM
Nope, I just waited and this morning the coins were there. So yes, they must have a working wallet there Smiley

I too got my coins, transaction was processed in the morning UTC +8!
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 08, 2018, 09:02:55 PM
To my big surprise: I just successfully withdrew my full XCN balance from aex. (Really should have tested with a small amount first, but realized too late)
They seem to process is manually, it took a couple hours to get through.

Mine is still "Wait Processing"...  Smiley

Did you contact them about your pending withdrawal?

If you received your coins that is at least a proof that they have some kind of a working wallet there...
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 07, 2018, 08:10:58 PM
Is XCN open for deposits and withdrawals on AEX exchange? Or you just tested the withdrawal system of XCN? Thanks!

No it isn't, trying to deposit gives that famous "Temporarily Closed" message and I thought I will get that same message when I try to withdraw.

edit: It says "Wait processing" on the finance page.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 07, 2018, 07:57:47 PM
Manual examination? That's crazy... Was it a big amount?

No, just a small test transaction. I've learnt my lesson with Poloniex and Btc38 haha!
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW Thread | 1st mini-blockchain coin | Bounties! on: January 07, 2018, 07:37:41 PM
About exchanges, I played a bit with AEX.

Mined another coin that is listed there, traded to BTC and then bought XCN, all working well so far.

I then, just for the lulz, tried to withdraw my XCN. I was really surprised when it actually did let me fill that withdrawal form, no decimals please was the only error I got. Ok, I then hit the withdraw button, this is what I got:

"Submit withdrawal request,a part of the request need the manual examination(processing time:9:00-22:30 UTC+8) , you can track its progress on the finance page, confirm?"

Why do I have a feeling it's going to take some time before I see my XCN?  Wink

Looking good, this is some real organic growth, not just some manipulated numbers.

Working amd (opencl) miner is still MIA, we need that before this project can move forward as a fair one.

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: January 02, 2018, 05:13:26 PM
You don't know people greed and stupidness. Even the most obvious scams blossom because of that. BCC for example - simplest ponzi scheme but people invest more and more. XSH - shittest of the shit but people buy and price rize x1000 times already.

After XPY I thought I've seen it all but BCC really surprised me, I guess there's a new generation of greedy fools ready to be slaughtered.

But OneCoin beats them both, "cryptocurrency" with blockchain so private that there never was a proof that it even exists, billions of fiat gone, same scammers are moving to "cloudmining" business.

Bitfinex/ USDT at least has a blockchain but that shit was never audited and at this point it's safe to say it never will, good luck trying to cash out.

XSH is a perfect example of latest generation of shit that started last summer, wonder if the same factory is behind all of these new "fair" projects. They have a serious problem with distribution, three months later when there's only 3% left of block reward, higher price tag at exchange doesn't mean someone is buying it, it's more like

Enough of this OT, there should be still be about a month left of this pump so let's pump & mine!  Cool
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: January 02, 2018, 11:25:54 AM
And a new quality project to mine with nvidia: Bitcoinspread is almost here!  Grin Grin Grin

1) All these ideas has nothing with Asics vs GPU battle.
2) The money income in crypto only rises. Previously it was only miners and very risky people realm. Now a lot of new people brought money. The end will be when every housewife will invest in crypto. I don't think it will be very soon - the world is big and 500billons is just a drop in the ocean.

1) Sure there will be some algos that are GPU only no question about that. But will it be profitable enough to mine those GPU coins? I don't know.

How I see it it's not about GPU vs ASIC, it's My GPU vs other GPU's, ASIC's, FCGPA's, other mining devices and markets. Other GPU miners also get better every day, I'm actually really surprised there isn't(?) yet a youtube channel or a blog that lists most profitable coins daily and tells how to mine them. It would take only a couple of days and everything would be leveled somewhere to ZEC.

2) True, 500 billions (of air?) is nothing but believing that something is only rising is just stupid. Long before every housewife buys cryptos they start buying stocks or other assets that are backed by something because they think they are only rising. Guess what happens next?

Classic "flipping a coin" example, if you are wrong you will pay me $8, if you are right I will pay you $15. Will you flip?

The fact that most of the people won't flip is the main reason why there are so many GPU miners today, it's also the reason why crypto's wont be mainstream very soon. The fear of loosing.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: January 01, 2018, 04:28:28 PM
Actually only myr-gr and skein were sometimes good last months. All other were not profitable. The impact with sia and pascal is made on amd's cause now dual mining will be even less profitable than it is.

So Equihash, Lyra2v2, Lyra2z, Xevan, Neoscrypt, Phi, HMQ1725 etc and even old like X17, nist5, jha are still GPU only.

P.S. I think Asics will always loose in this war just because to make new algo(even CPU intencive) is much simplier than to make an ASIC for it.

True, but no more than 2 1/2 years ago all those algos were profitable, if they still were that X17 miner would earn even more. Everyone can't, for one reason or another, mine that latest and greatest copyscam project.

There could be X17monday, X17tuesday, X17wednesday and so on but the algo itself doesn't make it profitable to mine. It's those fools who buy those coins thinking they will be rich soon, they are the ones who are paying this goldrush. Actually I know only one new real algo/ project that is coming to help mining markets, almost everything else is just shit.

Not sure how long those greater fools will burn fresh cash but so far it looks good (for the miner).

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: January 01, 2018, 03:28:21 AM
Yeah, I've been messing around with trading a lot more in the past couple months (sadly not very well). Definitely a skillset I need to learn. There are so many people mining now days coin niches evaporate relatively fast as well. It's not like it was even a year ago. Most people don't know how the game is played either and spill the beans on something profitable they found which tanks it immediately.

Meetoo. häppi nyy year to juu tuu.

That xsometihngshit is going down faster than sp_ can optimize it.

I   love  you.

Just some random example of shitcoin profits, no sol/s.

No, nicehash just came back online. Basically idiots feeding their hash into a botnet.

Idiots selling cheap to not so idiots who know what to do with that hashing power. Seller is happy, buyer is happy, middleman is happy. Again, hardest work = lowest profit.

Pretty sure Amph meant Baikal is about to kill almost all compute(=nvidia)-algos

X11-15 all gone.
Quark, Qubit gone.
myr-gr gone.
Most of the Blake variants gone.
lbry, pascal, skein gone.
Some other profitable compute heavy algos gone too.

If something profitable enough comes up it will be, yes, gone.

The price of bitcoin quintupled in that time period (still at more then triple value). Mining profits have not. Learning to trade is a better skill the mining. Mining will be going the way of the dodo at some point once again unless you have cheap power. Too many people know about it, it's too easy to do, and it takes almost no skill so it doesn't keep dumbasses out. Dumbasses are more likely to randomly spend money on things they don't understand as well so it makes it even worse, also mine negative when it reaches that point due to not keeping tabs on their profit and they just feed it into services like nicehash.

Mining is not sustainable.

Couldn't agree more. With that statement you won't get many supporters here but you already knew that.

Still, miners who have roi'd should mine like there's no tomorrow. New guys should find a way to keep close to that chair, music has now been playing almost 30 months, it almost stopped a couple of times...

Cash earned from mining is just like every other cash. I know it's easy to buy more mining hardware but is it really the most profitable option? I mean if you want to keep that in crypto there are almost_no_risk options wide open that earn easy 2-4%/ day???

Just remember to take some profits, and have a nice(long?) weekend too! Love you all!

From the film Gold (2016), loosely based on the true story of the 1993 Bre-X mining scandal:

Code:
You want to talk
about the truth?

All right,
let's talk about the truth.

The only truth here is,
when everybody's getting rich,

nobody gives a shit
about the truth.

Come the fuck on.
All anyone had to do was look,

open their eyes.

Man, the-the gold was wrong,
the find was too good.

There were red flags
everywhere.

Why did no one look?

'Cause no one wanted
to fucking know.

We all wanted to believe.

Me, you,
fucking everybody. Why?

Because we were all making
so much fucking money, man.

That's the truth.

That's been going on
for fucking centuries!

Most farm owners have 1060 and 1070 cards. The 1080 and 1080ti series are to expensive, and the most profitable algos on the 1080's will soon have ASIC's.

And four months later...

Sp_ needs more new shitalgos otherwise there will be nothing to optimize.
