81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Websites...is it just me... on: September 14, 2012, 07:56:11 PM
It is just me that thinks that most of the bitcoin related websites look like they were all done by the same designers - the overall feel of a lot of them is very similar...

why is that?

maybe that they all are using bootstrap?

http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/

Do they look like that?

83  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Pool Operators - PLEASE BAN & BLOCK GPUMAX getwork/proxy access to your pool on: September 13, 2012, 10:50:39 PM
Here are some facts:
* Pirate owes a great deal of money and has defaulted.
* Pirate has not communicated a repayment plan since his first announcement that said it should take a week.
* Pirate is one of the original investors, founders and at one time a director in GPUMAX, LLC.

We are all free to make our own choices and that is great. It's fine if pool ops don't care whether they do business with someone who is an accused and suspected scammer.
What I can't seem to make sense of is that while they are hiding behind freedom of choice for their pool members, they are denying their own freedom of choice. Pool ops are smart people in general. I don't think they would purposely deny their freedom of choice.

They should just say, " I care more about making money than the community, or potential victims or a scam" than to use lame excuses like adults are free to do what they want or they don't have to take part.

It's not about the miners. It's about you pool op. What is your choice? Community or profit? Victims or self? Justice or Money?

I'd like to know so I can make mine when selecting a pool.

84  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can you run 5 GPU's on Windows 7 x64??? on: August 25, 2012, 07:08:56 PM
Sure. You should be able to do that. Let me ask though...since in the title you use 'GPU' and in the text you use 'card'. Are any or all of the cards dual GPU?
85  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: August 25, 2012, 05:47:47 AM
Ok guys, I just had this huge illumination of what GPUMax is all about. I think I understand who the buyers are going to be (not the Beta ones, the real ones) and what's this project is all about.

If GPUMax is really what I think it is, I believe pirateat40 is currently years ahead of us. This project is dead serious and could really change the dynamic of the mining marketplace. I'm seriously excited to see the end of the Beta. I'm also pretty confident that the name of GPUMax will not change, even if ASIC come out.   Wink

I don't think it's appropriate discussing about it publicly, but I still want to discuss it. I need to validate my theory with somebody. Cheesy

So, here the conditions:
If you,
-have a farm bigger than 15 GHash/s (or, if you are bigger than me)
-are currently invited in the Beta of GPUMax

PM me, and I'll share my theory with you. If you don't fulfill the conditions, don't bother me. It's your job to prove me you fulfill the conditions. Only serious miners that could consider mining as a real job.

PS: It also means that my confidence about pirate paying back his BTCST lenders jumped up to 101%. Pirate is the real deal.

I am invited to GPUMax, but have temporarily retired from mining. So exactly how big are you? I am 5'7". Not very big, but I am hoping you are smaller because I'd like to know.

87  Economy / Gambling discussion / A Pirate Spotted on his channel on: August 21, 2012, 09:12:46 PM

Boo on editing.

Hear ya. Feel free to upload a raw logfile for posterity.

If I had a raw logfile, I wouldn't be complaining.  If you can tell me which channel this was I might be able to look one up.

89  Bitcoin / Meetups / The Naperville Bitcoin Group now open (near Chicago, IL) on: July 13, 2012, 11:37:58 PM
Greetings all,

I decided to start a meetup group for bitcoin in Naperville, IL to discuss your bitcoin and digital commerce projects or just to mingle will fellow bitcoiners.

This is open to people of all experience levels and all involvement levels of bitcoin, not just miners, investors, developers, or crypto-enthusiasts. There is already a group in Chicago, so this is for all those who do not want to travel into the city for some great bitcoin discussions.

Seeing that this is an open community, please join now and put in your suggestion for the first meetup. In one more week I will collect all the feedback and announce our launch meeting.

http://www.meetup.com/NapervilleBitcoinGroup/ to sign up.

We will meet monthly in Naperville once we get rolling.

I look forward to meeting you there.
90  Economy / Securities / Re: BS&T -- Are you staying or leaving? on: July 05, 2012, 04:17:53 AM
Lulz, so those pictures of the shitton of gpus I have running are photoshopped.

I just went through all 68 pages of your history and didn't see a single picture of your "farm" (saw a lot of GPUmax, pirate and shakaru stuff). Since there are no pictures, I guess nothing was photoshopped.

Taking GLBT ponzi-loans isn't mining.

While you were browsing all 68 pages of my history, did you happen to see all the people I've traded with?  I've only purchased hardware, never sold it.  Tell you what.. you pick hardware, anything that I've bought via the forums and I'll post a picture of it.

I can point you to pictures of at least 10GH worth of equipment that he purchased from me....though I am not sure what the argument is or how it was started or what this proves.

Just saying, he is a miner and has a farm of GPUs. I trust that the total amount of GH is what he represents. If not, it will be larger than he told you shortly. You can take my word for it.
91  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Idea: Site to identify Street Musicians on: June 27, 2012, 10:43:59 PM
How many times you walked by a street musician, liked the music, but afterwards couldn't look them up to recommend them to your friends ?  I propose to build a website like this -- where youtube recordings of street musicians are catalogued, and eventually, someone would post their contact info.

But they could post a giant btc qr code that people could scan and send funds with their cell phones. 1 out of every 1000 persons may have a wallet app. What do others think about the rate of mobile wallets to population?

Thanks!

Wasn't sure if you wanted public acknowledgement, but since you posted I would like to acknowledge and say to all on the forums for future reference that all BTC were received promptly and it was a real pleasure to deal with Imsaguy.

Not that he really needs it, but I will vouch for him any time.

And a big thanks to you, Imsaguy!

What are your hashrates like?

No storage, right?

I ran them on USB drives using a Live Debian and cgminer. They run right around 3GH each.

here's the actual current screen shot at their home....one was removed for the shoot in the 1st post.
98  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] 3 Great 4x5970 rigs + parts on: June 26, 2012, 12:03:49 AM
UPDATE: the lot has been sold and was picked up locally.

I have 3 high quality rigs with great mining parts only running since March in a controlled data center in Oakbrook, IL, USA.
$4800 gets the lot, including shipping to C-USA. Payment accepted in BTC preferrably. Escrow with HashKing or another provider we can both agree to.

Never overvolted, ran very minimally overclocked for stability and down-mem to reduce power consumption. These pull 1050 on the Kill-A-Watt with the mobo configured properly. I am upgrading to new technologies and want to clear some cap room.

When IBM was relevant and had a stranglehold on their customers, they behaved in a similar manner.  And then became irrelevant.

When Microsoft was relevant and had a stranglehold on their customers, they behaved in a similar manner.  And then became irrelevant.

At some point the market will force Apple to compete and they will open up.

I don't think they will....and there's no company more deserving than apple for a massive flameout.
