@Claymore: Are you considering getting donations for releasing a solo miner version? I think a lot of people would want to solo mine with your miner and that would be healthy for the network. Also, do you consider supporting older cards, like 5xxx series? Ty!

+1

It's 3rd time I'm asking for it ;-)
Even in new version of XPM client there is option to send some part of block found to address specified.

"* Added an automatic donation feature when a new block is found. The -donationpercentage allows a percentage of the block reward to be donated to an address. E.g. passing the command-line parameter -donationpercentage=1.5 will donate 1.5% of every block to the developer. Alternatively, this value can be set in primecoin.conf. Also, the default address can be changed using -donationaddress."

Anyway I dont think we will have solo miner fast, people are greeeeeeeedy ;-d and it seems there is hard co-operation of our beloved dev. and ypool for their 13%; dont forget that if miner is for only 1 pool that have bigger profit. I dont know for others are doing, but for me solo mining would mean more than double profit

If that would be the case  we  need a  stratum server running local, same as ypool. Anyone can help setting up  one?

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Creator (Charlie Lee) Recommends Merged Mining with Dogecoin on: April 07, 2014, 11:21:39 AM
I can follow CL logic but that doesn't make Dogecoin better than it is: another shitcoin...

Ty for heads up!
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you like asic resistant currency? How about 50% cheaper electric bills? on: April 07, 2014, 08:40:22 AM
There's also the new gpus... 50% more efficient Nvidia 750 ti.  Scrypt Asics still viable but so are gpu

EDit, should say gpu are more viable/flexible.  Especially as gpu tech continues to improve
How does it use less electricity? I would think if the GPU was fully utilized, regardless of the algorithm, it would use the same amount of electricity.

X11 uses less power and generates less heat, most likely because the implementation is inefficient. X11 is also not ASIC-resistant in the slightest.

Incorrect: Groestl uses less power and generates less heat, making it most power efficient algo. Might want to read the forum more for comparison between Groestl and x11.

...
LOL yeah are you referring to the gridseeds?
....
LOL hardly an actual efficient ASIC.
....

Do you think 100 W for 3.7 Mhs is not actual efficient enough?
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DOGECoin will go up 3000% again on: April 07, 2014, 08:08:12 AM

it's a rip off of Litecoin with a dog icon the end.

90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which algorithm you like and what are the advantages? :) on: April 07, 2014, 08:04:32 AM
Groestl as it is most power efficient. Gpus run cooler than x11 and the gap between CPU/GPU is not so big while mining GRS for ex..
People should start reading before promoting x11 so much.

93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC miner, LA1THS, usd5000, stock ready now. on: March 17, 2014, 06:46:06 PM
Well Jack, how about this:
I have ordered and paid for LA3M on Feb 11 and still nothing - well except promises, that you will ship or have shipped it. Every time I call DHL - nothing.

To your credit, you have shipped my previous order pretty fast, so I don't understand why the flip..

Anyway, Jack you owe me - ship me the LA3M or give full refund. Just take care of it asap please. I am tired hunting for you on Skype.

I feel you man. I got sick and tired of how many mails I sent to Angela and Jack before they shipped  my order.
I would order again by paypal only.

Good news everyone! Stable firmware for LightningAsic controllers is underway, it should be ready for public in the coming week and it will be possible to upgrade (from v1, v2, v2.1..) by uploading it to the upload page. The firmware .bin will be released for public, but it is compatible only with LightningAsic controllers. Upgrading from factory Tp-link 703N will not work and it might brick your Tp-link, so don't even try!

It has some awesome features:

  • Stripped, custom compiled OpenWrt (controller's OS) image optimized for size and speed
  • Stability is heavily emphasized and guaranteed! No more random reboots or crashes
  • Custom compiled cpuminer OC, frequency selectable up to 1200 MHz. We have tested it for 48 hours straight at 950 MHz (405 Kh/s) and without hardware errors! (see #1)
  • Advanced miner monitoring and management
  • Option to auto power cycle miners when one of the miners is stuck, this is done software wise and it has the same effect as unplugging, and plugging in the USB cable! (see #2)
  • Up to 10 miners per controller, replacing the 32MB RAM chip with 64MB will double that figure
  • Huh Shocked

note #1: depends on miner hardware
note #2: this will only work if the USB/hub is powered by the controller, you must not supply power to the USB hub.

BTC or dual mining is removed in the firmware for a multitude of reasons, BTC mining on GC3355 is unstable and wasteful.

If this doesn't want to make you pull out the LA controller out of the trash, I don't know what will...
For questions or feature requests, please PM me, not Jack.   Donations (1AMsjqzXQpRunxUmtn3xzQ5cMdhV7fmet2) are gladly accepted, and will be put towards improving the firmware even more.

1.Please don't remove dual mining from the fw or let it be as an option!. Some of us enjoy more or less expensive electricity- and would like to ROI faster.
2. I'm not so sure if 64Mb of RAM will do the trick for 10+ but I would like to see it tested.
3.Back-up pool option is a MUST and I don't see that on your list.
Thanks!

96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin down Litecoin UP 2014 on: March 15, 2014, 08:27:19 AM
I  belive as well this year we will witness LTC increasing more . Just remember what happened last time when BTC asics came up and compare to what is happening right now  Wink
...or, it will do the opposite and once and for all prove to this community that price does not follow the mining difficulty level.

People will buy scrypt ASICs if they will mine scrypt coins at a cheaper $/kilohash rate. They might also buy scrypt ASICs because the value of Litecoin might go up considerably due to Huobi's news. They might even just buy them because the psychological factor of "gold rush fever" is like some kind of siren call to mine, mine, mine.

But the price will not follow the difficulty level. Compare Litecoin's price and difficulty level from early December (during its price peak) to its price and difficulty level now if you are convinced that price follows difficulty.

We shall talk again in 6 months.

red miners are the beta miners.. gold miners are the new more stable.

also if there is a white button its an older version

my test unit I got awhile back is gold with a white button so its not the latest (gold and no button)

im interested in a 5 pack possibly if this is legit

escrow an option?

I would also like to know this:

1 Are the red or gold ones ?
2.Do you offer the escrow option?

Thank you!
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: New York accepting exchange applications on: March 11, 2014, 09:43:39 PM
Did anyone actually read the article?

Companies can submit "applications" despite there being no application process, requirements, or standards and they will be bound by rules which haven't even been written yet but may be written sometime around the end of the 2nd quarter.

In related news I am sure your local car dealership would be glad to sell you a car which doesn't exist yet with features and price to be determined next year.

Would have been better to just ban this ? Pfff naysayers gonna nay...
I watched Lawsky at the hearings and saw him like a man open to the future. The right man at the right place at the right time.
So this is good news no matter if short or long term. Period!
