81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are you today $MATIC holders? on: December 10, 2019, 06:07:59 PM
I'm afraid that it will end up getting worse.
It probably will. Some large hands have liquidated their positions, which likely means that they are done providing buy support and will move on to the next low market cap coin to pump and dump in the exact same way.

I get why people are excited to buy the dip, but the dip people plan to buy is still well above the price it traded for before the pump, which means that there is still more room to the downside in the coming weeks or months.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: MATIC LOW PRICE AND THE BEST CHOICE TO BUY NOW on: December 10, 2019, 05:29:39 PM
Classic pump and dump is what it looks like. I think what happened is that the price was pumped to create demand and thus liquidity for some large players to exit their position.

I don't think it's a good time to buy right now. It might go up a bit further, but I expect lower highs for a period of time until the price reaches the levels it started pumping from. People are better off not buying.
83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to buy 1 bitcoin on: December 10, 2019, 11:44:02 AM
for now that the price is not at good condition, it is time to accumulate more then hodl if you want to have 1 BTC and more profit.
I agree. People generally only buy when they see the price go up because they think Bitcoin is going to change the world or something, but after a while they figure out that they bought the peak of a rally and will keep bleeding.

The uglier the market looks, the better the buying opportunity is. That's the evidence we have in every market. If people for once did the opposite of what they think is the best thing to do, they would have made quite a bit of money.
84  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's going on? on: December 10, 2019, 10:15:15 AM
I think you have to learn and understand how the market really works because this is quite complicated if you stay just like this, you may end up losing more if you don't understand the situation of a cryptocurrency.
It's not even that complicated to understand how this market works. People make it seem to be more complicated than it actually is, which then discourages others to not get into it, which is kinda sad.

One of the main problems is that a lot of people here trade and invest based on the fundamentals of the coins, which is probably the easiest way to lose money because this market doesn't respect fundamentals in the short term.

Are Bitcoin and Ethereum fundamentally worse than they were at their 2017/2018 high because their current price is lower? Hell no. They are way better today than they were back then but the market doesn't care.
85  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the bitcoin price prediction for 2020? on: December 10, 2019, 09:37:59 AM
but it's a fact like 2 months ago you can see the movement of bitcoin when it's in 7,500 less than 1 day can jump above $10,000,
That was an extremely bearish move. It has only happened like 3 times in Bitcoin's history that the price went up so much in such a short period of time, and none of these moves were sustainable.

If the price pumps $3k and then dumps below the point it had that $3k pump, you know that it was used as a welcome opportunity to sell high while traders expected that it would tank deeper. Nothing good can be said about it.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hide my money from my country 2 on: December 09, 2019, 07:56:13 PM
But let's discuss another situation. If the currency movements in the country are restricted and you want to buy foreign currency, you can choose USDT. But if you want to earn more than you deposit, you can get ETH, btc or bnb ....
The problem with USDT is that you rely on a central entity to make sure that stablecoin is worth $1 which it is today, but what about tomorrow? It's waiting for a total implosion of USDT. It can happen at any time.

People are way better off using Bitcoin or Ethereum because you don't rely on anyone to maintain its value. Yes, it's volatile but I rather hold a volatile crypto than a stablecoin that might not have any value left tomorrow.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people compare it to 2000's dot com bust if that bust killed most companies? on: December 09, 2019, 07:37:48 PM
Do you see something in common? 95 percent of crypto currencies will die off, because of the lack of product, competent management and a well roadmap. The same happened to most companies back in 2000.
Well, companies are companies while most of the crypto coins are set up by individuals or groups who don't represent a company. Nowadays that ratio is different, but in the past there weren't all that many companies with coins.

Another thing is that crypto coins can't really die off because there will always be one or two exchanges coins trade on. BitconnectCoin for example, a totally busted scam and useless coin today, but it's still traded on a couple of exchanges.
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who needs Satoshi Nakamoto principles? on: December 09, 2019, 05:59:55 PM
Until you see a pool with more than 51% of the network you can say mining is centralized.
Statistically it can be considered centralized. It all comes down to what that pool is doing with that majority hashrate. If they follow the economical model and don't inflict harm to the network, not much changes.

Only when they abuse their position in the network it becomes a problem. There is too much to gain by just following the rules of the economical model than to fuck up once and be a bad guy for ever. It's not rewarding enough.
89  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can one have any expertise in Speculating? on: December 09, 2019, 09:49:15 AM
if there are people who can speculate correctly and precisely without seeing technical data then maybe it is a gift that God has given him.
It's called luck. One can be right like 10 times in a row and it's still luck, but in the long run, these people will lose most (if not all) of what they put in. There is no shortage of people 'trading' like that.

It kinda works the same with gambling. I have seen people brag about their profitable dice method, but it only works until it no longer does, and by the time you agree that it no longer works you have wiped out your balance.
90  Other / Meta / Re: I'm running for becoming the new Trading Discussion Moderator on: December 09, 2019, 09:21:35 AM
This sounds like a political promise that we know most of the time won't get fulfilled because politicians are busy collecting money for themselves.
I have read through many of OP's threads in the last couple of months and they all seem like political gibberish, so on that front you make a very good point even though it's partly meant as a joke as well.

OP is probably after an easy pay as moderator. If you combine that with some degree of power on this forum that allows him to delete other's posts when he doesn't agree with others, the story starts to get more shape.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential ETH Prices in December the Lowest 98$ and the Highest 222$ on: December 08, 2019, 06:34:08 PM
I think the ETH price will start rising only if the fork will be successful.
Same. I think it's fair to say that the main reason the price has held quite well despite being dumped down hard is because of the fork. If there was no fork there for a lot of people wouldn't be an incentive to buy Ethereum.

In general, the price tends to increase in the run-up to the actual event, so from there I do expect quite a strong bounce in the coming months, but a lot will depend on what Bitcoin is doing as well, so better don't get too excited yet.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the future of Altcoin on: December 08, 2019, 09:35:22 AM
In general, altcoins are a good hold when they simultaneously go up for months straight, which is often referred to as an altcoin season. As long as that isn't the case, it's probably a better idea to not touch any.

It's true that some altcoins are doing well regardless of it being altcoin season or not, but the important part is selecting the few coins that will do well, and not buy into the hundreds/thousands of coins that will make you lose money.

It's what I consider a gamble. If you are open to a gamble and accept all of its risks, then go ahead but I wouldn't recommend people to take unnecessary risk where you can just sit in fiat and let the market bottom further.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the best coin to buy apart from bitcoin on: December 08, 2019, 08:57:53 AM
Ripple has been timid for the longest time but a lot of people are still supporting it.
XRP holders have been butchered hard in the last 2 years. Considering that they have heavy bags they desperately want to see go back up in value to break even, they will keep supporting it.

The whole idea behind their investment in XRP was that banks would adopt it and pump the price to $10 and some are delusional enough to think it can hit $100 which is completely and utterly retarded.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: New law enables german banks to sell and store cryptocurrencies in 2020 on: December 07, 2019, 11:23:54 PM
I always knew this was gonna happen but i am surprised it is happening so soon. Grin
It depends on the country I guess. Germany has been far ahead of other countries in terms of crypto regulations, and as far as I have read into it, they seem friendly and open enough to allow crypto to gain more ground.

The thing however is that we need more countries like Germany being open to crypto. Everyone is looking at what the USA is doing in terms of regulations, but it seems that they are not as open minded as Germany is unfortunately.
95  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Whales keep getting richer and richer while everybody else is losing... on: December 07, 2019, 10:55:40 PM
Everyone that had that kind of power will use it to try to get even more profits that is completely natural, what we need to do is to try to figure out how to get profits despite those manipulations.
What people need to figure out is that they will very likely lose a lot of money trading because they are clueless about technical analysis and what makes this market so volatile and brutal to trade.

Only noobs think that this market is being manipulated. Every dump people complain about whales controlling the market by manipulation, but when the price explodes, they like it and don't complain. What a hypocrisy, right?

As long as people can make profit everything is tolerated, but when the market conditions change and they lose, then it's manipulation.  Roll Eyes
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins not Growing These Days on: December 07, 2019, 01:22:44 PM
From 2018 Crypto market situation is bad.Maybe because of hyip and after dump many investors left the crypto.
Could be, but the thing I think made people leave is the fact that the high they bought at is so far from the bottom prices that they either sold and accepted their loss, or still hold an expensive bag of altcoins.

People bought into altcoins believing they would change the world and go up in value endlessly, which in 2017 seemed to be the case, but bubbles pop and people get hurt.

Altcoins need to surpass their current highs otherwise I highly doubt people will come back. Every single time altcoins have a bounce up people get excited, but it turns out to be yet another lower high.
97  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: December 07, 2019, 09:56:16 AM
I think that when the government taxes something, it should give equal value rights, insurance funds and legal protection. Otherwise, it's just a robbery.
Unfortunately, it's flat out robbery. All they care about is to have their pockets filled, and whenever you want to pay your taxes and make a mistake, they will threaten you with hefty fines and possibly even prison time.

The sad part is that when you are eligible for a tax return, it could take months to actually receive it (complaining will not work), while if they think you owe them money, they want it right away and you can't even be a day too late.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Vs Cryptocurrency, which would you choose? on: December 07, 2019, 09:26:56 AM
I don't have a problem with fiat. IMHO, I don't think crypto can compete with fiat on any level as money. It's not stable, not a unit of account, poorly accepted throughout the world, and the list goes on.

Crypto is great for speculation, censorship resistance and cross-border value transfers. Great features, but does the average person need all these features? I don't think so. Speculation is what 90% of the people are here for.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my story: why bitcoin has failed (and keeps failing to this day) on: December 06, 2019, 10:59:27 PM
I can understand the frustration, but this market is brutal and can bankrupt people if they take on too much risk. If you buy Bitcoin, no matter how much you like the idea behind it, you have to accept its speculative nature too.

People often think that they can handle the wild price movements, but that only until the market turns against them. Many people tend to call manipulation because they don't have a clue about how a market like Bitcoin works.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Juventus Club now have JUV Tokens for Voting power of Fans. on: December 06, 2019, 06:54:04 PM
I like the fact that this generates positive exposure for the space as a whole, but when you dig deeper, it's such a nice token that it won't appeal to the masses, and let us need some fresh capital to enter the space.

If they want to generate even more exposure, they should accept Bitcoin for ticket payments, merchandise, and so on. I'm sure that it will motivate even those who aren't Juve fans to buy something and pay with Bitcoin.
