86  Economy / Collectibles / 25BTC Casascius Series 1 for sale - with digital certificate from Mike Caldwell on: July 17, 2018, 11:24:12 AM
I'm selling a 25BTC Casascius Series 1 (error coin). Coin is fully loaded.

It comes with a digital certificate of authenticity consisting of a PDF scan of the coin signed with the makers (Mike Caldwell's) Adobe key.

It also comes in its origonal pouch. The coin has been untouched since receipt. See photos below, photos are of front and back, in good light, and also with with flash to try show details of the coin.

At this point I am trying to gauge market interest, so serious offers only. BTC or MaidSafe payment only.

I recently sold a damaged one for 6BTC, before the last two price drops so would be looking for a minimum of 6.2BTC.

92  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Group buy of large amount of Casascius Coins, UK seller - Zepher Coordinating on: June 12, 2018, 11:59:07 AM
No_2, can I get an express denial of my final offer* please.

*Only buyers aware.

So I have a firm offer for a larger amount from a contact I have dealt with before, so I'm going ahead with that. It has all been agreed, just sorting collection times etc.

If it falls through I will post back to this forum and re-open discussions.

Many thanks everyone for your interest.

The PDFs in the .zip have been edited so have lost the signature info. If serious buyers want to send me their email address in a PM then I can send them copies of the signed PDFs.

So if Zepher and you (No_2) do end up reaching a deal, I'm assuming you would be willing to give everyone in the group the actual signed PDFs?  And even so, will it not even matter if Mike hasn't kept up with his yearly dues?

Yes, absolutely, the buyer gets a copy of the PDF with the signature. They'll need this to prove authenticity down the line.

So from what I understand of the Adobe keys; they are issued by Adobe and can only be verified on Adobe PDF readers. If you use a 3rd party PDF reader then it will not read the signature and just show you the scan.

Different versions of acrobat show the signature in different ways. Some times you'll have to check via a menu option, other times it slaps a dialog box over the top of the image of the PDF.

Mike Caldwell's key he used to sign it was from his swipe clock business [EDIT: the early PDFs were signed with his swipe clock Adobe Key, later versions of the certificates, and the ones for these coins, were signed with a casascius key he purchased specially for the coins], and also shows his name. Each key has to be purchased from Adobe with proof of ID etc and is only valid for a year at a time, so an expensive and arguably secure process.

I also asked Noah at Lealana to do the same for his coins, I understand he offered scanned signed PDF's a few buyers aside of myself in his first year of opperation.
95  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Coins for sale - 35BTC face value (25 x 1 and 20 x 0.5) on: June 07, 2018, 01:22:02 PM
There is just 10 x Casascius 1 BTC coins left, and I can start negotiations for the entire lot from No_2.

Everyone involved will be kept informed every step of the way.

C'mon people, 10 coins left out of 45 - we can do this! You won't get coins of this quality anywhere else.

Edit: Note that these are NOT your "regular" Casascius Brass 0.5 & 1 BTC Coin. These are mint, still in their tube (pretty much guaranteeing you MS67+ for the majority of the coins, should you choose to send them to ANACS for grading - which I 100% recommend in these specific circumstances), and they ALL come with PGP Certificates from Mike Caldwell/Casascius himself. You do not see these for sale with a Chain of Custody. Seriously, if you want something truly special, with paperwork from Casascius himself, this is very likely your ONLY opportunity to get one for a fair price. Think about it.

Zepher

Just wanted to clarify a few things.

The coins have all been taken out of the paper tube the came in have been put into coin capsules to protect them from the air. This was done immediately upon receipt. They were not touched by hand during this process, but obviously Mike Caldwell at Cascascius may have handled them when he made the coins up, though these are from the last batch ever made and he started wearing gloves to protect the coins for the later batches. Please see the photos for details of each coins condition. They are basically as mint as they can be.

The certificates of authenticity are not PGP (though Mike did offer these to some buyers in the early days). They are the later style of certificate, an PDF of a scan of the coins, whcih Mike made and then signed with his Adobe key which is registered to him. Please take a look at the certificates included in the pack I made available to download.

I've also updated the title of the thread.
96  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Coins for sale - 35BTC face value (25 x 1 and 20 x 0.5) on: June 06, 2018, 01:52:08 PM
Any idea what you would like for the entire lot?

I'm based in the UK.

Cheers

Based on previous sales, the BTC price dip, their unusual mint condition, and digital certificates; I'm looking for around 47-52 BTC for the lot.
97  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Coins for sale - 35BTC face value (25 x 1 and 20 x 0.5) on: June 05, 2018, 10:47:19 PM
If there aren't any parties or group buys interested in the lot I could split, but would prefer a single sale if possible.

I'm selling a 5BTC Casascius Series 2. Coin is fully loaded.

It comes with a digital certificate of authenticity consisting of a PDF scan of the coin signed with the makers (Mike Caldwell's) Adobe key.

It also comes in an airtight capsule and has been sealed and untouched since receipt. See photos below, each is taken front and back, in good light, one photo with flash and one without.

Coin has been untouched and sealed since receipt from Casascius. Sadly are some marks pressed into the label on the back of the coin. I have checked it under a microscope and the label is unbroken, so superficial pressure damage. Please inspect photos for more details.

At this point I am trying to gauge market interest, so serious offers only. BTC payment only.

EDIT: I am also selling a large collection of Casascius coins - 35BTC face value (25 x 1 and 20 x 0.5) here.
