no problem with  stocks.exchange is working very well here
It depends on your luck. 12 hours ago I deposited some ELLA coins to them. Coins are on the deposit address (3012+ confirmations), and the balance still is zero. I did not see any announcement about ELLA maintenance.

It is time to know our savior Ellaism The Sinless [Ella] (no premine, no ICO, no difficulty bombs, no endless emission, no PoS, no contentious hard-forks).
Yeap, ELLA's start was much appreciated. No ICO and no premine was great! I liked to solo mine it.

But what I don't really understand, what's the main idea of both VIC and ELLA coins? I see that both teams tell about professional developers, lot of goods for all crypto community. But what is the thing which makes either coin somehow unique? Apart from being yet another Ethereum clone?

Pardon my ignorance...

with every hour is interesting to the coin only increases. In the near future, the coin will be announced on other exchanges and this will significantly increase the volume of trades and the price.
I hope so. I put significant investments (own rigs and bought hash power) to mine it since official start. But will keep it for bright future :-)
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.3 (Windows/Linux) on: January 13, 2018, 11:26:19 AM
Hi, I'm new to mine
and I have no knowledge of how to start ...
I already have my gpu to mine but I do not know where to start, someone could help me please.
Thank you
It depends on what you are going to mine and what for. Also coin selection depends on your hardware (GPU) and total hash power (number of GPUs).

If mine and dump, then:

1) Register on some exchange like Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitfinex or any other of your choice.
2) Go to deposits for the coin you want to mine (say, ETH) and write down your personal deposit address.
3) Read the README for the miner (1st message of this thread or download Claymore's miner and read the README).
4) Start it to see if it mines on your system. If not, fix hardware/driver problems.
5) Choose a mining pool to mine at (again, many examples are in the README).
6) Write a command line with your pool and your deposit address (update example).
7) Run miner and check if it mines and if coins are credited to the pool.
8 ) Wait for minimum payout amount and see how coins are transferred from the pool to the exchange you have address from.
9) After coins are deposited, you may sell/buy them and/or withdraw to somewhere to get real cash.

It's all is easy, isn't it?

The most interesting part just start here: optimising the system to get maximum performance and lowest power consumption, still being stable and not overheated. Then you may play with clock frequencies and voltage levels. Next step is to alter your GPU BIOS and change timings and something else to squeeze even more juice from your rig.

Has anyone noticed the payout on Dwarfpool have dropped dramatically over the past week?  Seems like the drop in productivity is higher than the rate of difficulty increase.  I recently switched from the European server to the US server and I am trying to figure out if that had anything to do with it.  Thoughts?
Would be good to compare with other pools regarding their hash/blocks ratio. Total Dwarfpool hashrate was almost the same, but average number of blocks found decreased. I don't think it's this pool only issue. But to be sure makes sense to compare with other pools. You don't have to mine there, just compare their hash/blocks ration changes for a week.

Hello.

What dcri config do you use to get the best performance of ETH and SIA mining? I tested -dcri 15 and was good. Do you have any suggestion?

Ideally, you should be testing with the miner in operation, just use the + and - keys.

I think dcri 15 is a good value.

I made an Excel table where put hashrates for primary coins, secondary coin and power consumption from the wall. Then using current WhatToMine prices and changing dcri with +/- keys, I estimated revenues for every coins and summary. Then subtracted power costs and made profitability chart. It usually has an extremum point, that point is the answer to your question.

This consumes some time, but in the end you know your rig performance for different dcri values and anytime can update to current values from WTM to tune your system.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.3 (Windows/Linux) on: January 13, 2018, 10:58:13 AM
I have been running with the onboard video disabled in the motherboard BIOS.  Using GPU0 as primary display in the 16x slot.   Running 10.3(.1?) and have the same issues.  Appreciate everyone trying to help.
No idea then. Was it ok some day before?

Sometimes AMD drivers do weird things. I may suggest to uninstall all drivers using DDU utility (display driver uninstaller), reboot and install them again. Sometimes such things help.

1115081 Victorium Shitcoin x 0.00004 per coin = 44.60324 BTC
Have you seen such volumes? I saw only some dust was sold, 100 coins or so...
But I agreed, not quite nice to have a premined for 9 days coin just announced.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.3 (Windows/Linux) on: January 11, 2018, 03:33:25 PM
Temperature and fan speed are only reporting for GPU0, but I have 8 identical RX580 GPUs.  Win 10, 17.12.2 and 17.2.1 tested.
Here's a screen shot of what I'm seeing..
Anyone else experiencing this?  Is there a fix?

I had similar issues when using either Intel GPU enabled and set as primary, or connecting to PC via RDC (not using TeamViewer). After update to latest Claymore's miners, the issue with Intel GPU has gone for me.

The reason is (probably) that miner detects the 1st graphics subsystem and gets its temps. If it is an embedded graphics, you see single card. But for mining it uses another API which does not mix AMD/NVIDIA cards with embedded graphic. So it uses all cards, but temperature may be from another source.

You may try to enable/disable on the BIOS level embedded graphics, so your primary adapter is PCIe card and no embedded GPU exist in system settings. And use real monitor instead of RDC to check. This usually helps.

I was just about to say to "osnwt" that our versions of what an investor does are obviously very different.

Wikipedia:

An investor is a person that allocates capital with the expectation of a future financial return.
A trader is person or entity, in finance, who buys and sells financial instruments such as...

So if you use exchanges to trade - you are not an investor, you are trader. If you hold coins for future returns - you are investor.
And both make money.

As for Stocks Exchange, yesterday I posted Heads Up warning to all here that STEX exposes abnormal behaviour. Posted screenshots and suggested to take coins back. At that time I got withdrawals literally in 2 minutes. I regret that you have issues getting coins back, I was afraid to have the same, so warned ASAP so people could do the same. I hope they will recover funds. But as for me, I will never use this exchange due to its complete lack of support (again, see what I've written yesterday).

Sadly in my view the current exchange (stocks.exchange) is holding back ITNS. As an investor and miner it's really pissing me off so much so I have changed to another coin for the time being in terms of mining so I can avoid having to use Stocks Exchange.

You do not have to use Stocks Exchange if you are investor and miner. You can mine (as miner) to local wallet (versions for all major OS available) and then hold it (as investor). When we see a real value for the coin, more exchanges will add it by own initiative.

But if you want to mine and dump ASAP, then you need an exchange. But then hardly you are investor, aren't you? :-)

@Claymore, did you look at the Parity stratum mode? I remember it was expected to be implemented in future updates. Now more ETHash coins are coming which can be mined solo until difficulty increases. Would be good to have stratum mode for Parity.

what other coins ?
To name some, ELLA and PIRL both use ETHash and they recently were pumped a lot. Still they are on the top of WhatToMine list.

I mined ELLA solo with great success (they provide config file for Parity node, so it was matter of minutes to install binary to my small ARM-based board and have a working node).

Another example was Intense Coin (ITNS) using CryptoNote (CryptoNight) algo. I mined it for a couple of days using Claymore's miner with my small farm when it was around 10-20 satoshi. And it resulted 1.5 months later in few thousand USD being pumped to 700 sats... And it's just a beginning, since ITNS is only (yet) on a single small exchange. But they have a promising roadmap.

It is expected to see more coins based on ETHash. While not all have bright future, they still can be used to mine early and then HODL and sell in few months. It usually makes 1000-10000% profit if you are an early bird :-)

Here's the latest from StocksExchange from their twitter feed. You may encounter some problems trading ITNS.
We may? We had, see my yesterday post with screenshots. The bid/ask table state shown must not be possible if all works as it should.

osnwt my friend, join discord here https://discord.gg/FCHe8k there you can speak with many members about any diubts you may have.
Found that I was there already registered. But why? I don't like web-based messengers, they're too heavy to keep all online.

Why don't ITNS team establish a telegram supergroup chat? It doesn't have any ads and other garbage around the messages itself. It is light, fast and becomes more and more popular. Most of other teams have telegram groups (to name some, Bitcoin Atom and Coinomi).

I would suggest ITNS team to add a telegram chat to the media list.

I should also tell that this exchange uses a kind of animated trades. When you put a closing order, it is first added to the chart, then bid/ask orders merge and only one retains (or none). But the screenshot shows a stable state, and it did not change after few refreshes. So this definitely is an issue with the engine.

What I was most concerned that their support is not helpful. The API is unusable since it performs browser check (nonsense: API is made for bots, not for browsers). CloudFlare protection triggers quite often. Writing a support message, you may click 'Send' and found DDoS checks and 'something went wrong' error message. Your long-written text's gone. I think it is unacceptable and reported that. But seems it is ok for them. Unfortunately.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: January 10, 2018, 09:49:13 PM
Please do PM the devs in Discord  about that if they miss this post. I like that idea.
I am not registered there. Please do if you can.

Actually, Coinomi does not yet support any CN-based coins due to long development road as they said. But a lot of people is willing to have Monero support (including me). And Coinomi just said they've done 99% of required components, so we should see XMR support very soon. ITNS uses the same algo, so its support will help to promote Intense.

Did you talk to Coinomi wallet team to support ITNS?
They are usually happy to list new coins into their great Android wallet and ask coin teams to contact them for that.
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Heads UP: stocks.exchange on: January 10, 2018, 08:30:55 PM
It is very similar to the fact that someone is testing a bot and making a lot of small (less than 0.1 ITN) sales orders much lower than the current price and to buy higher. Thereby, the engine of the exchange is stupefied. As a result, such errors occur in order book and on the chart.
The issue is that it was not an order flow, it was a trade flow. So they actually sell at double rate what they just bought. That is, bought at 250, sold at 500, again and again (and normal buy orders are stuck at 500). Trading engine must not allow this at any circumstances.

I've heard in one chat that it was hacked and not yet restored. It may be false info, of course.
Anyway, I do not trust exchange which has so obvious flaws and bad support (as I reported above). I'd better keep my ITNS in a safe place.
