Hey folks, it's been a bit of a day for me that I wont get into so I'm here a little late.
Beta is going live over the weekend and we'll be contacting the first 20-ish over that time period. I know some of you are real eager to get on board and play with this, but I hope you can appreciate that we would rather slip the date than release a duff client, even beta wise, first impressions count.
Anyone that isn't contacted in the next day or so, do not worry, we'll be ramping up quite quickly over the next week or so. We want to go with a small amount of beta testers to start not only to test the client, but also the bug tracking software and other infrastructures. Debugging on forums is not fun.

Were you expecting to get thousands of coins? We did say that the variables were set up to prevent instamining Actually he has a point. If you want you coin to be valuable you don't want some guy with a gpu farm to point it at it right off the bat and get a couple million coins in the first few days to dump later. I'm a big supported of DGC, but I voted no. I think BTC-e is a place where mature coins go. DigitalCoin is not a mature coin yet. There are too many big holders right now, and while it is far, far less likely that it will be dumped all to hell like FTC, I still think the coin spread is too concentrated for a big exchange like that.
