81  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just a question? on: December 06, 2013, 07:01:35 PM
I think China is giving me a good indication of what'll happen. Glad I got out at over $1000

Thanks though Wobber

100% out?

Maybe temporarily out and buying back lower...
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we think BTC still has upside or are alts the only way to go? on: November 29, 2013, 11:52:46 PM
Do we think Alts are really the way to go now?

No, but you may create new alt coin (not much difficult) and find fool to sell your mined coins to.

83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to "lost" bitcoins? on: November 29, 2013, 11:38:48 PM
I just read this story (a guy disposed of a hard drive holding 7500 btc):

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25146685

What happens to those bitcoins now? Is there any way for him to retrieve them? Let's say he can find the address in the blockchain somehow - can he do anything to get his money back?

Quote
A man from from Newport says he has lost a £4.6 million fortune after throwing out a computer hard drive which stored a digital wallet holding 7,500 bitcoins, a virtual form of currency for use online.

Maybe someone else has the HDD now... so all depends.

But the story is so vague I doubt it happened, looks just like $1,000 / BTC propagation
84  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Coinurl dead?? on: November 29, 2013, 11:30:58 PM
Is coinurl.com dead? Nothing is moving there... All things are pending or waiting approval over and so for about 20 hours.

I dont know, but coinurl.com is operated by one person. So it means no holiday possible forever  Huh
85  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just found $20 by the sidewalk.. on: November 26, 2013, 01:07:08 AM
First you dont know if it is fake, so best is to go buy something with it to find out.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adding Images on: November 26, 2013, 12:59:31 AM
OK...

So how and heck do I add images to my posts? I remember reading the instructions somewhere but can't find them now. Can anyone direct me to the stickie or quickly explain how?

Thanks so much!

When you write posts there are dozens of icons at the top. One of these icons is for adding images, just add url of the image (it has to be hosted on different server already)
87  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When can I get an avatar and why stuck at 14 activity? on: November 26, 2013, 12:55:36 AM
you should be able to reach activity level 28 within 2-3 days i believe.. that's when the next cycle hits.

then no 60 second rule anymore.. i was glad when that restriction was lifted from me.

That's completely wrong, as you can see by the second post it's 14 activity levels every 2 weeks, not 2-3 days. I've been a member since the 15th, have 70 posts, yet still stuck./

After 29th you can get new activity, up to 28 (for 14 new posts), then wait for next 14 days and so on

91  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with bitcoin QT on: November 21, 2013, 10:39:16 PM
If bitcoin qt is stuck with syncing at the same block forever, you have to delete the blockchain manually (not wallet.dat !) and bitcoin qt will download the blockchain again

94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why is most trading in USD not EUR on: November 17, 2013, 11:57:45 PM
-The main 'original' (see MtGox) exchanges were American

MtGox is Japanese, isn't it?
It's based in Japan but it's founders and employees are American aren't they?

You can only deposit and withdraw in USD
You can deposit and withdraw not only in USD but also in EUR and JPY.

You can, but do not try it  Smiley
Why pay premium for buying BTC on MtGox ?

96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best cpuminer algorithm for intel i7-4770 ? on: November 09, 2013, 05:14:53 PM
Do not mine Bitcoins or Litecoins with CPU. ASIC (Bitcoins ) or GPU (Litecoins ) can be used for these two which is MUCH more effecient than CPU
97  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins changed my life!!!! on: November 09, 2013, 05:10:57 PM

It is better than TV before bubble pops. Then you may feel horrible if your just short sighted and see the BTC fall to small price  Wink
