and only a few hundred people left in the inner circle, because they kicked all the other people time by time for suspiscious reason.
So dev, his friends and all their sockpuppets earn onions every time and some people without this insiderknowledge will buy the worthless coin.
Well, first of all it is not worthless since you have already a fluently working wallet and easily can make some transactions over the TOR network as well as using the DeepVault feature to validate documents. The reason why there is only a relatively small circle of Airdrop receivers is because the Airdrop is concepted to value the believers and supporters of this project and not some random people that only want to make a quick buck. That is also the reason why you get a founder status in the upcoming Votecentral if you participate in 21+ Airdrop rounds. The devs are passionate about building a strong community and in my opinion this makes them just more trustworthy. With their skills they could easily do a fake ICO and get a whole bunch of money if their only intention was to scam people.

Deepvault is nothing.  The functionality to put document hashes on a blockchain existed in 2009. It has nothing to do with a privacy coin also.

Centralizing the coin makes it useless - except as a pump and dump coin at the end of the airdrop.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 22, 2017, 10:56:04 PM
if only 400 people are receiving the airdrop then surely this is a centralized currency? - the wealthy few - the trading volume is really low on the exchanges so no one is buying the tokens.

Looks like a major hold and dump at the end of the airdrop run. Prove me wrong deeponion please.

Any thoughts?

You have accurately assessed the problem.

I do not know about you, but I'm sure of a 90 percent coin. The developers have already shown that they know how to work as a team. the news is coming out, the guys are working and the idea is very promising. I see no reason to worry so much.

Lol

The "devs" haven't done anything other than run an airdrop on a clonecoin. There's zero reason to believe they are even capable of developing anything.

yet again i am forced to give this one detail that everyone is either not willing to say or forget.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY 100 COINS TO BE A PART OF THE AIRDROP.
you simply have to have a minimum of 100 coins in your airdrop wallet. you can get these a number of free ways. free giveaways, competitions, bounties, and of course the new sunday airdrop where your deeppoints from the form get converted to deeponions. the more active you are the more you get. i got 415 deeponions last sunday for my forum activity which had nothing to do with my wallet holdings. so to sum up, you do NOT have to invest ANY money into this so how the fuck can it be a ponzi?HuhHuh?

STOP LISTENING TO THE FUDDERS AND MAKE YOUR OWN MINDS UP .YOU ARE ALL MISSING OUT OF THIS BY JUST TAKING THE WORD OF A FEW . LOOK AT HOW MANY ARE FOLLOWING THIS

That's right, the "second airdrop" where you get free coins for the official forum activity looks good and allows anybody to get quite a few coins (tens to hudreds) easily just for forum activity. Nobody is forced to buy any coins to get in the airdrop.

Nobody is forced to buy anything. But the people who do buy, buy in on the hype made by all the people who are getting the coin for free.
And they are not hyping it for the coin but for their own profit. It's just a nasty little vicious circle.

That's like saying Bitcoin is unfair b/c early members were able to mine it in seconds for a fraction of a penny in electricity.  Or that NEM is unfair b/c the early signup members got their stake for free and now you have to pay half a million to acquire the same stake.

I can tell you that I got in on the first DO airdrop and I am no insider.  I dont know dev and had no special conditions.  In fact almost everyone who met the initial requirements were instantly accepted.  Yes there was a period that was hard to get accepted into airdrop but that was b/c it was found out that people were buying and hacking BCT accounts and accuring alot of coins to dump.  After Devs found that out they went through everyting with a fine toothed comb.  Granted it became very slow to get approved, but let's be realisitic.  The team was only like 4 people with 0 ICO funds and sorting through hundreds of application as day.

There were 288 people in the airdrop for most of it, and they rejected almost everyone that applied. That completely centralized the coin, and they're doing it even more now.

85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 22, 2017, 04:05:07 AM
Good to see this still being discussed in the least because that means we as a community are trying to figure the scams from the not scams. However I did notice also that the github was not updated and this also did worry

me a bit. Is this reason to worry or is this standard for a project of this size?

Having a closed source windows only wallet is absolutely *not* standard for a project like this. Unless it's a scam of course.

well, now i am calling scam on DO - why? the blacklisting went too far and you act like tyrants over your other forum. i did the current youtube like, subscribe, comment, prove and was denied saying my privileges were insufficient. i am selling soon, too bad for me... Huh

If you troubles you should submit a ticket, not trying to cry all over. If you do not belive in this project than you shouldnt loose your time. I am in do from almoust vey beggining , nevelr sold 1 and its one of most exiting projects out there

That's an interesting freudian slip.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: November 18, 2017, 11:02:13 AM
Is it true that IOTA is quantum computer resistant? How they achieve it? I read that IBM are ready to put on cloud 20 qbit quantum computer for public and are having 50 qbit prototype.

Iota uses Winternitz signatures, which are quantum resistant. Basically the same thing that makes them efficient makes them one way, so quantum resistant. You can dig around the internet for the math of why this is true if you want to go next level.

I'm not sure why anyone thinks a team that can't write standard crypto can accurately implement something new.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 16, 2017, 07:49:19 AM
Stop stating that deeponions are scam, THEY ARE NOT People who did not receive any coins or didn't get accepted in airdrops start disliking. You guys did not understand the purplse if deeponions, you should find out more about it and can discover the truth by her.!!

Didn't you post this exact same shill yesterday under a different account?
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 16, 2017, 07:39:23 AM
Hi,

I was about to buy some deeponion and join the hype but then I check the project a little more deeply and now I could agree that there is something wrong in it.

The biggest red point for me is that they closed the source code of their wallet after version 1.2 to "protect" some copied technology. I'm not willing to install something like this on my computer.

You can't possibly be serious.. closed source now ? WOW  Shocked

Closed source and windows only. He's afraid someone will steal his groundbreaking technology of storing document hashes on the blockchain.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 16, 2017, 02:54:07 AM
Very interesting thread .... i was thinking of investing as i like privacy coins
but this is getting pushed to the bottom of my list until i work out what is going off

Look at xvg if you want to see a privacy coin.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 14, 2017, 12:52:34 PM
I invested a lot of money into Deep Onion and made a profit from it. What makes you think it's a scam? You can give evidence for this. I will wait for information from you.

Maybe you could read the thread.  It's laid out in excruciating detail throughout.

A lot of people make money off of scams. That makes them no less scams.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: November 14, 2017, 12:27:24 PM
The distribution method has changed a few weeks ago and now it resembles the distribution model of many other airdropped coins. So the "blackmail" strategy: if you dump your coins you won't receive more, doesn't work any more. It was a brilliant idea, even though with controversial implications. And the dev almost managed to fuck up the project completely with his paranoia. Now that it is more open, and the price is quite stable, the project has better chances of success.

The damage is done. The project is completely centralized, less than 300 people have all the control over the whole project.

yep, the damage was done in the first genesis block ;o

That's a fact.

Just so you know, DeepOnion has surpassed Monero on Bitcointalk with the most replies. Now the nr.5  altcoin topic on this website out of the thousands.

Damn, we are working pretty damn well ahaha. I can see that this is a premonition. We may surpass Monero or even Dash in the coming years (or just months) to come. So if I were you, I'll buy some more. I am proud to say that I bagged some more from cryptopia just a while ago.

Imagine what will happen to DO if we reach other exchanges like Bittrex or Binance.

Being that said, what's keeping us from being in those exchanges?

The fact that less than 400 people have about 90% of the coins...

Any blacklisted DO member managed to get into AirDrop successfully without buying 100ONIONS?

Not quite yet, but I am trying to get myself back into the airdrop. Had a bit of a mishap and now I would like to get back in if possible. Did not need to buy 100 onions however as had a few thousand from the beginning. I do

have a question however and that is these new features keep coming out which are great but how come the github page doesnt update? I dont understand this it doesnt make any sense to me somebody please elaborate

what I am missing here?

Because DEVs have decided to keep the DeepVault code closed-source for now. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of that decision either as I’m a strong believer in and supporter of open-source software and given the choice I always go for open-source alternative. That said, according to the official statements, DeepVault code will be made public at some point, so let’s wait and see.

I am pretty new to the crypto world so I don't really understand how having open source code for DeepVault will benefit DeepOnion. Can you explain?

Nobody with half a brain is going to run closed source windows only crypto currency code.
doing so is basically stupid.

This is new Bittrex API code: {"Currency":"TROLL","CurrencyLong":"Bittrex Test Currency","MinConfirmation":1,"TxFee":0.00100000,"IsActive":false,"CoinType":"IOTA",
https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getcurrencies

So much about Bittrex not adding IOTA.  Grin Cheesy

LOL
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: November 11, 2017, 03:04:51 AM
@MV7

This is not easy to say. But like I said before Ethereum needed around 2-3 years to reach the market cap of 30 billions.
With IOTA this could go way faster because there is a huge crypto awareness already and investors are waiting for the next big thing. Also a lot of money is already in crypto (BTC and ETH) and could flow faster.

So when more people realize what this project can achieve and the potential of it, it could happen pretty fast, in a timeframe of 2-4 months even.
I expect more a jump to 5-10 billions market cap over the next months. Then some correction, then full hype. So beeing on a more optimistic side I would say it could be even end of 2018.

Following things will add to the market cap of IOTA:

- more exchanges (Bittrex is the next, they already started following IOTA on twitter)
- announcement of coordinator removal and full decentralization of IOTA
- more corporate agreements, also it seems governments will work with IOTA
- announcement of smart contracts integration into the IOTA code

IOTA will have some bigger upgrades.
Also what I like is that they try to keep the fundamental network and code clean as possible and will allow some kinds of slots and modules (IX) for more functionallity.

Also expect another hype. The InternetOfThings hype.
This one could synergize with the growth of IOTA.

This video is amazing, it explains the supply and transactions speed of IOTA:

https://youtu.be/y7JPQng-Vjc

bittrex is not going to list iota.  Ask yourself why they haven't yet.  It's because it doesn't work.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: November 11, 2017, 03:01:27 AM
Imagine a world were all the machines are connected to a computer, like literally everything. There will need to be some sort of provider to facilitate that and IOTA is the one. Imagine gong to a public toilet, which will be able to directly verify your ID, but either scanning a fingerprint of facial recongnition (a camera might be installed that ID's all entrees) and upon not flushing the toilet, you'll be fined automatically by the system. The same can be applied with thresspassing, crossing red light and many other legal things. When everyone is IDed, people will feel more comfortable doing things - but we'll definitely have a backlash from liberterians who don't want to fall under the system. It will become though so convenient to use various services using IoT, that eventually people will give in. As they did for Facebook and other services, were they were willing to provide their personal information. IOTA will be ready when this expands.

Nobody wants to live in your surveillance world.

As long as we can make money , who cares it is a scam or not.

Well, for anyone with a conscience, it is rather important to remember that a scam means you make money off of some other poor unsuspecting sap. Some can live with that, I guess.

On the other hand, I've yet to see anything to really convince me that this is a scam token. Most people posting against it seem to have personal vendettas. I'll continue to support and wear the signature unless I see some actual damning evidence.

There is a large grass roots group of support behind this coin that goes far beyond the possibility of 'farmed' accounts. Only time will tell, but I'm still a fan and think it's got a lot of potential.

Closed source, windows only wallet, with no features that are not already in every other privacy coin.

What makes you think there is any potential whatsoever here?

I have put together some numbers about last airdrop and the total tokens members are holding from the premine and you tell me if that is fair:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2383425

You covered it very thoroughly.
