Btw, I just released a new version of the Pepper Mining app that supports more than one board, its currently still a WIP but you can read a bit more about it here and grab the download links.

Just a note, this pic from evo's connected to one of my boxes I have easy access to..

Has anyone gotten the pepper mining app to run on a Raspberry Pi with Wheezy?

If it's possible, I'd be willing to pay for some assistance.

Why not use the windows version..

1. Run cgminer on your PI or any hosted computer on your network with --api-listen --api-network
2. Launch the Pepper Mining App on your windows machine and point to the IP of the host where your miners are.

Just a word of warning for all wanting to push their boards or if your a first timer using a liquid cooling block.

The dies on the chips can crack if your apply to much pressure on them, once cracked well that die is dead, you can use the hf-tool to disable the die but your only hashing on 3 then, which well you can get 500Gh/s out of.

I just want to caution everyone thats playing around with these things that this is a real possibility so please take your time, do not over tighten, make sure to not put more pressure on one side than the other etc.

I've tried getting this to run on windows with no luck. I get 'HFBulkDevice not found' in a loop. Does this only work on ubuntu? I'm unable to get past ~875 at the stock voltage. Sad Is hftool the only way to adjust voltage?

Right now I'm running:

Anything above this and I get fluctuating temps like gateway demonstrated.

Thanks, great boards btw!

Yea.. most of the dev that hf did is on ubuntu boxes running 13.x not much in the lines of support by HF for windows.  I have been meaning to create a virtual image that you could run in virtual box that would allow you to run the tool in ubuntu but I havent had much time as of late.

Amazon dropped the price of the H110i, only $5 more than the H80i.

Because of it's copper radiator, the Swiftech H220 will destroy any other all-in-one systems once you replace the fans. By ~10C

I have the H220 in my personal computer, and I agree it is awesome. Problem is the H220 is not available in the US anymore and the comparable H2O-X20 system is $240. So $180 for 2 complete water cooling loops is not a bad deal.

the coolmaster glacer 240l is the same one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GJYNM4M

I wonder if the temp variance is simply just the particular die ASIC quality. Traditionally, higher quality dies ramp up heat really quick as you go over their nominal voltage ceiling, but are able to reach very high clockspeeds at lower voltages. While, lower quality dies are very easy to feed higher voltages w/o such huge increase in heat, but also, normally requiring higher voltage to reach higher speeds.

Their is deff variances in these chips, some will perform better than others..

Can you guys help with some board comparisons?

My board gets:

MHz: 600
GH/s: ~450
Temp:  100,102,102,98

What are you guys seeing at 600mhz?

As for now a higher MHz get me 105 and an overheat.

(I do want to figure out how to get the board up to 650 gh/s.)

Also make sure to use fan plug 3 or 4, fan plug 2 is set to 50% right now until we release a firmware update

Just took a bit of the info we have been posting and put it together in one blog post, if you have any comments or suggestions let me know and maybe I can add this in.

Check out the post here

To run hftool.py it reads:
Code:
<span style="color: #000000;">./hftool.py -w 0:940@950,1:940@950,2:940@950,3:940@950</span>Â
and
Code:
 <span style="color: #000000;">./hftool.py -w 0:950@950,1:950@950,2:950@950,3:950@950</span>
for me under Firefox29.0 Ubuntu12.10.

I assume it should be:
Code:
./hftool.py -w 0:940@950,1:940@950,2:940@950,3:940@950
Huh

Cheers,
QG

Hah, thats what i get for cut and paste and not watching the freaking html tags that came along with it.. fixed and thanks for pointing it out.

Got it working on 12.04 LTS...

Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential libncursesw5-dev libssl-dev libgdbm-dev libc6-dev libsqlite3-dev tk-dev

Then install the python3 from source code:

wget https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.4.0/Python-3.4.0.tar.xz
tar xvf Python-3.4.0.tar.xz
cd Python-3.4.0
./configure
make
make test
sudo make install

sudo pip3.4 install --pre pyusb
(or sudo pip3.4 install pyusb I can't remember now)

python3.4 hftool.py -r

awesome good news.. prob should start a little faq for various linux versions..

btw not sure if you need these..

Code:
libncursesw5-dev libssl-dev libgdbm-dev libc6-dev libsqlite3-dev tk-dev

First of all our dev boxes are running ubuntu desktop 13.04 or .10 64 bit .. so if you have an image of that try that out.

secondly, their are a few things to check since this requires python 3 and the running python by default is usually 2.7 or something close not 3

Code:
netcom@chromy2:~/Documents/firmware/tools$ python --version
Python 2.7.5+

Code:
netcom@chromy2:~/Documents/firmware/tools$ python3 --version
Python 3.3.2+

so u need some flavor or python 3...

You could try running the command like so..

Code:
python3 hftool.py -r

Please make sure you also have pip3 and pyusb installed for python 3.

Your post is perfect but it's far too advanced for me. I'm using your tool which displays Die temperature BUT for 2 boards it is displaying only one set of dies. No clue which one. If I have 10 boards I would really need to see 10 die sets so that I can adjust them individually.

Hashing never stays constant it goes like 400Gh 2 seconds later 532GH than 680GH than 415GH. Up and down like roller coaster.

Just a letting you guys know the tool only works with one board at a time, so unplug one, test the temps and do the next.  I have been pretty busy but thats next
on my list to work on, maybe just maybe something this weekend.

Do not send any btc directly to anyone, please use our online form to order boards.. sigh.. always someone trying to scam ..
95  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: HF - Tool to set voltages on: June 05, 2014, 09:52:23 PM
Oh, yea I should mention only use this with one miner plugged in at a time

How much longer is batch 2 going to be open?

Well when we sell out, its hard to tell but these are going quite fast at this price point. fyi..
97  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: June 05, 2014, 06:04:44 PM
Thanks gateway

Is there going to be a 3rd batch or is batch 2 it?

not sure, let me shake the magic 8 ball..... hmm "Cannot predict now"

So if your waiting you might want to order in batch 2.
98  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: June 05, 2014, 05:24:13 PM
I'm using minepeon and want to know if adding the following on the settings page would have the same effect as adding it directly to the config file;

 #!/bin/bash
sleep 10
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner /opt/minepeon/bin/cgminer --hfa-fan 100 --hfa-temp-target 0 --hfa-temp-overheat 110 --hfa-fail-drop 0 --hfa-hash-clock 200 --api-port 4028 --api-listen --api-network -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

I believe you dont need --api-port 4028, by default the port is set to 4028, its only used if you want to connect to it via a different port on your network.
99  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: June 05, 2014, 05:16:09 PM
I finally figured out how to get the rpi to run these with cgminer.  But I have my directories confused or something and I can't find the config file to update it the speed.  When I save the default file under settings it's saving it somewhere I can't find. So I am running at the default 550 Mhz.  If anyone has an image to share I would appreciate it and send you a tip.

Or a free Nano Fury 2 USB miner if you're into that sort of thing.  New, not used.  I manufacture them.

I am pretty sure with the pi to open the conf file you do sudo nano /root/.cgminer/cgminer.conf. Cannot access my rigs at home right now so I cannot tell your for 100%. Best way is to run cgminer and save the conf file to /home/pi/cgminer.conf.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also when your viewing/editing the cgminer.conf remove the line that has like hfa-hash-clock 550 , the command line overrides will not work if this is set.. kinda silly, I asked Con that if you override a command via the command line it should use that instead of whats in the config..

just a tip

Hello everyone HF has given us the ability to release a Python 3 tool that allows you to adjust the voltages of your board.  This is only useful if your going to really want to push them past 900Mhz since at some point you will need to increase the voltages to push the power!

By default the setting we set during programming was .930 voltage.  You can read more about the tool here and please use that thread to ask any related questions.

Cheers!

btw let me know if you use this tool
