Byteball has started an airdrop campaign through World Community Grid. It's not exactly mining but similar since you can earn bytes by doing useful computation for science with project using CPU only. Easy set-up, no pool required, just download the wallet and link WCG account. Payouts are made daily and constant in dollar value. Would have been really good if bets on IPL (Indian premiere league), and other international matches could have also been made on byteball platform. The betting oracle is very limited and needs lot of improvement.
Apart adding new leagues, what do you suggest as improvement ?

Nobody from WCG is going to hear about it if the team isn't active. The team isn't active because everybody on here is greedy.
2300 WCG accounts eligible for the $150 reward. 25000 accounts eligible for the $40 reward. It should help to spread the news in the WCG community. Can someone please explain how the WCG points system works in relation to byteball? How many WCG points is equal to 1 GB of BB? What do you mean by eligible for $150 and $40 rewards? are there a cutoff thresholds and then everyone gets those amounts? If you are a new WCG user, you get $1 value of bytes every 150,000 WCG points you make. If you already got an account, you also get an initial reward depending of your existing total score: 100,000 to 1,000,000 points: $0.20; 1,000,000 to 10,000,000 points: $3.00; 10,000,000 to 100,000,000 points: $40.00; over 100,000,000 points: $150.00. It's a way to bring new people into Byteball.

Won't happen purely because people aren't willing to donate resources. The GBYTE return is basically irrelevant. WCG has dozens of thousands active members that donate for free, why they would refuse a reward that pays a good part of electricity bill ?

Who can I contact to discuss a possible bug in WCG bot with?
You received a batch of identical payments ? Don't worry I just needed to check something.

I don't have the Windows wallet for BYTEBALL (I have the android wallet) but if I'm not mistaken, you could get it from the settings tab of your wallet. Go check it and do some tinkering in it. You should find it there.
I did it but found no private keys. Only extended public key and wallet addresses are there. I guess all those addresses should rely on private keys. But, how to find them? Hi, could you share how to get private key from Byteball wallet. I have no clue about this but suspect I might need that sort of thing later. I use light version, BTW.
You can use this complete guide on How to make backup of your byteball wallet as reference. There are 3 options available, choose what suits you best: A. Backing up seeds & recovery your wallet from seed B. Full Backup & Recovery C. Manually Backup Sorry, this is not exactly what I want. Your private keys are derivated from your seed using BIP44 standard. I assume you can get them by using this kind of converter: https://iancoleman.io/bip39/

Are there any plans to support a hardware wallet - Ledger or Trezor? It would be awesome to secure my Bytes.
You don't need it. Byteball has the best secured wallet on the world. Lol. Thanks for this information, do you have any clue about hardware wallets? I'm unlocking my Software Byteball wallet with the private key, thats one of the most insecure methods in my opinion. If I have missed something which I don't know, please tell me. Or is it just sarcasm, then it would be really funny You can easily set up a multi-device wallet: https://wiki.byteball.org/Wallet#Add_walletIf you set up a 2 of 3 multi-device wallet, you need at least 2 devices to sign a transaction. Since it's unlikely that your both devices are hacked, it's a secure solution to store your bytes. And in case you lose 1 device, you can still make transaction without bothering to restore a back-up.

I received my first few WCG tokens. Thanks for it. But why is the name a long character code starting with DAHn....f0= instead of a name like WCG-Tokens? A bit confusing. Before I saw the chat message that I received tokens I was not sure what those tokens about.
They are test tokens, they are not registered.

What is the payment rate for the WCG program, has it been announced yet?
Right now they're not even worth a cent for a days worth of points Nothing has been announced yet. The current reward is only dust for test purpose, it has nothing to do with what will be the real one.

I don't know but look at cryptox.pl, this small exchange was always reliable and has even a better Gbyte volume than cryptopia.
Really? What I seen is daily trading volume on Cryptox accounts for only around 0.2% of Byteball total volume (at least in the last 24 hours). https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/byteball/#marketsIt's still has better volume than Cryptopia and there are trading bots that refill the order book quickly. Furthermore, Cryptox operator is available on Slack and has always provided a serious and great service.

I'd have a hard time finding another audience willing to actually pay for porn online ;-)
Nowadays people pay for interactivity, we need a sextoy that vibrates when bytes are received

Are there any news about the WorldCommunityGrid bot integration and when it starts? I read some days ago that a user is almost done with the bot.
By the way, how can I get an invitation for the Byteball Slack?
Punqtured via Telegram: Prior to launching the World Community Grid distribution, there's a need for a few more testers. Since you've probably already got the Byteball wallet, all you need to do, is to create an account on World Community Grid ( https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org) download the WCG-client and start it. In the wallet, pair with the device: Did anyone tried that? Sure it depends on the electricity cost but I wonder if World Community Grid activity will pay for itself at least. This bot is there for a test and the reward is just some dust. For the real distribution, you will need to link using the bot announced by Tony.

Is the Reward calculated proportional to the Run Time or to returned Results/generated Points?
Proportional to the WCG points.
|
|
|
What is the start date for wcg program, if we start boinc now will those points get counted towards byteball distribution?
I think this wcg program could really go viral, most people using boinc would have heard about Bitcoin now, and when the advantages of byteball are explained things could explode.
The points will be counted from the moment your link a Byteball address to the WCG account.
|
|
|
Tonych, what about the possible BOINC project for Byteball? No decision or action yet for that? I'm still looking forward to contribute some computing power for any decent research.
There will be a distribution to World Community Grid contributors soon. I'm currently developing the bot that will link Byteball addresses to WCG accounts.

this contract still not paid after a six days signed by you and Oracle TKT4UESIKTTRALRRLWS4SENSTJX6ODCW posted DIJON_OLYMPIQUEDEMARSEILLE_2018-04-01 = OLYMPIQUEDEMARSEILLE and there was a transaction that sends 250 MB to this address or signed by peer and not there was a transaction that sends 250 MB to this address and after Sun Apr 01 2018 00:30:01 GMT+0300 (EEST) or signed by peer and Oracle TKT4UESIKTTRALRRLWS4SENSTJX6ODCW posted DIJON_OLYMPIQUEDEMARSEILLE_2018-04-01 != OLYMPIQUEDEMARSEILLE or signed by peer and after Fri Apr 06 2018 19:00:00 GMT+0300 (EEST) or signed by you and there was a transaction that spends from this address
This is because the data provider used by the oracle announced a wrong date, this match was in reality on 2018-04-31. Before posting the result, the oracle checked the data from a second source and didn't post the feedname DIJON_OLYMPIQUEDEMARSEILLE_2018-04-01 since it was wrong. In this case the betting bot sweeps the contracts after 6 days as allowed by the third branch then refund takers and makers. You should receive the refund today around 8 PM GMT.
