Altcoins are correlated with the bitcoin value, if bitcoin start decreasing alt coins also decrease. It might be chance in the future I don't know but currently they are positively following bitcoin value.

Is it still safe, wise and as profitable as before to start a fresh bitcoin investment?
I'm thinking that investing in a number of the other several altcoins might be much better

Studying hard on research new ico for a short term investment would be profitable than investing on bitcoin. I like the word that luck is an attitude. If you are lucky enough no matter which currency you invested. Nowadays I am eager to invest on ether. |

How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
Bitcoin will die if the new technology supersede it, the new one will get the place of it more practical solution. But this should be done in long term. As we see rapidly ether and other alt coins increase their market cap and share. When we see something world changer arise it will kill bitcoin, not easy but possible. |

With the present situation, bitcoin is longer term profitable and alt coins are shorter term. In the long run the obstacles for bitcoin will be finished time by time (segwith, LN) the bitcoin become much more valuable. Currently for example this year I am positive on ether. |

Bitcoin will not help to solve problem of world poverty, if money can not solve it, gold can not . BTC or crypto in general will not solve it. In poverty regions people can not use even internet, computers if they want to produce or earn by their personal efforts this is also not possible. If we want to solve the poverty in general we have to agree at the beginning to share our sources, this is never done before it doesn't matter what it is. You can share food, money or bitcoin for them all is same.
