803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DO NOT STORE COINS AT EXCHANGE! EXCHANGES ARE NO BANKS! on: August 07, 2014, 05:16:56 AM
Your account at exchange is a far more easy target for hackers than a coldstorage-wallet at your own house. Exchanges are attacked all the time. They are the primary target of hackers. To steal a password from your browser is much more easy than stealing coins from an offline-storage at your own home. Never leave more coins at exchange than what you are trading at that day.

For people who feel they don't know enough about how to keep their coins safe at their local computer here is a short tutorial how to do that:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg8178658#msg8178658

friendly sponsored by Unobtanium-community Wink

Keep your coins safe. Withdraw them to your desktopwallet. Don't be lazy. Better be safe than sorry.

Currently there are far too many coins at different exchanges. This applies not only to Reddcoin, Unobtanium and Vericoin - too many coins of all sorts at the exchanges! Withdraw whenever possible.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: August 07, 2014, 05:03:24 AM
THAT'S WHY YOU LEARN AND DON'T STORE COINS AT EXCHANGE!!!!
MOVE THE COINS TO YOUR DESKTOPWALLET OR RELIVE THAT SHIT AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!1
LEARN FORM GOX, COINEX, COINMARKET.IO, CRYPTORUSH, MINTPAL VERICOIN YOU MORONS!
LOOK AT HOW MANY COINS ARE AT CRYPTSY. YOU IDIOTS NEVER LEARN!!!
30% of all UNO at cryptsy. 30% of all reddcoin at cryptsy. Don't cry next time!!!
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 07, 2014, 04:59:14 AM
I'm still upset that Coinex ran away with 10 UNO of mine... Slowly trying to mine that amount back. :/

always keep your coins at local wallet. Don't store at exchanges. You only own the coins if you own the privatekeys
I wasn't storing.  I was trying to trade at a peak. They ack'd the deposit, and was in an active trade, then ...... the rest is history

I always store my personal local until ready to do a transaction Smiley

sorry to hear about your loss. We all hate coinex i think.

809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Withdrawal Delays! on: August 07, 2014, 12:42:56 AM

The solution is us tracking which wallets have those inputs and combining them faster than we currently do Smiley

good  idea
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptsy Withdrawal Delays! on: August 06, 2014, 11:08:39 PM
This issue pops up from time to time. As far as the receiving the portion of your withdraw. Why this happens is as folks continue to mine and deposit very small inputs say 5 coins over and over again we build up a ton of small inputs. When say a bigger trader comes along and make one large withdraw. All of the tiny inputs have to be combined to make the large withdraw of say a million so that could be 200,000 inputs for that one transaction. Whats this do it typically hangs the wallet so we implemented a "fix" that will keep making your withdraw smaller until it sends. We also then get alerted and work on combining inputs internally so that we do not have the problem in the future (this takes a bit).

As far as delayed withdraws there are many reasons this can happen. Password resets are an automatic 24 hour delay. Something else in your account flagged it as suspicious Fraud prevention is a large portion of these.. You live in an OFAC nation... The list is actually quite large. We work with everyone that puts in a ticket on these issues and 99% are easily resolved. I have contacted the new forum member that started this post and he has yet to respond to me on this issue, also common with these threads.

Best course of action is to start a ticket and your issue will get handled.

edit: OP of the threads funds have been released. I should also mention that TOR though great for anonymity raises flags as its our goal to make sure the right person receives their coins.

how about implementing minimum-deposits and minimum trade-size?

We had some in the past but then we would just have some poor miner who would essentially loose his deposits because of a rule. And you cant prevent someone from sending the money some the input problem still exists.

well those miners sending 0.0000001 cents worth of coins need to learn then, i guess? Or what's your solution to the problem? Who is more important? The tiny miner or the big trader?

why pesetacoin is undervaluated?

because everybody is on the one-pump-trashcoins. Smart money accumulating pesetacoin for longterm.

814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: August 06, 2014, 06:15:23 PM
the advantage of ETH is: it washes the last stupid money out of coinsmarkets and puts it in the hands of experienced money-sharks.
While the sheep donate their btc to GS the rest of us can buy up the good alts at extreme discountprices just before BTC and alts go to the moon once more. I think i can speak for the ethereum team and everybody else in altcoin-space when i say: "thank you for donating"

People who are like "i invested just to be part of it and i don't expect any returns" make me laugh really hard. The denial is epic.

volume picking up a bit. Buysupport building, sellpressure - not at all. Most Uno with strong hands now.

@IMZ:

a little bit of 'merged marketing' with CGB wouldn't hurt, i guess. Both coins have similar target-groups. I like that idea. Could potentially benefit both coins to develop a friendly relationship.

finally the titanic hits the iceberg. What a coincidence this name appears together with ripoffcoin. I think it could get better from here for alts.
