I did that, and put out a support ticket on http://support.avalon-asic.com and got a positive reply, see above.

yes, you were my inspiration to try, haha. i had seen it mentioned before but blew off the idea until i saw it seems to have worked for you

i'm thinking about it!

Well, i received a response from avalon support so i am holding off on this for now.

"Please don't attempt to pay any orders, a newsletter will tell you how to proceed."

Any BTC refunds to report today?

None here, refund requested on the 13th
805  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: January 26, 2013, 05:01:30 AM
I wrote another email to Quentin on January 21st. Guess what, he just ignores me. I am not even sure if this guy exists. But I know that I gave you BCs to finance your operation and you hardly refuse to fulfill your part of the contract by simply forwarding me to your not responding so called lawyer!
This is criminal and nothing else. You have my adress and my email in the list you got from GLBSE. Pay my outstanding payments!

Hi bixcoin,

If you feel that Quentin is ignoring you, then please email me directly and I will contact him today to make sure he gets you an answer.

james at gigamining dot com

I have not refused to pay anyone who has taken the time to follow the claims process. Payments are again being made on Monday's to those who have done so. I have/am fulfilling my obligations while making sure Gigamining is around to continue to do so.

Best,
James

James

In the same boat, sent emails including a CC to you but received no reply rom Quentin

This gets ever confusing by the minute.  Initially thought that Dave had jumped ship, but now that he is back hopefully we should the refunds coming in?

Dave: sent you numerous emails but nothing yet. BTC refunds should be the main priority, CC charges can be be just charged back as per your advice earlier.
807  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The bASIC Refund Tracking Thread on: January 24, 2013, 04:15:20 PM
Sadly, if this proves anything is that Fiat is superior to BTC when making (valid) purchases from a consumer view point.
808  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The bASIC Refund Tracking Thread on: January 24, 2013, 03:02:56 PM

I guess that means all remainding refund requests are screwed..

So, where should refund requests go to now and is this a reset on the previous requests?
809  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The bASIC Refund Tracking Thread on: January 23, 2013, 11:41:28 AM
For the record
1.  We've refunded a lot more than 200k - a LOT more.  Several times that amount.
2.  There is a delay for refund requests - they sit in my email inbox until I can work through them.  Each one is a little work-task that can take a few minutes or even 15 minutes.  I have every combination of combined orders, part CC/part BTC order, "refund only half my order", re-requests, no details provided, "please refund, wait don't refund, now refund again", the list goes on.  Our order system has to be updated as well. Its a slow process to do it right.
3.  I've had a shit-ton of personal and business things happen over the last week and a half that have conspired to slow me down with processing the emails.  I can fly through the CC refunds quicker at least, then follow up with the remainder of BTC refunds for Tom.

Sorry for the weak excuses - I mean them to be explanations.

Best,
Dave

Dave

While I understand that most BTC refund request has to be forwarded to TOM, Can you at least send a notification or perhaps put up some sort of list so that your clients can check the status of their refund requests. I have a refund request that has been sitting since the 13th and knowing that it has been looked into would at least bring some comfort.

Cheers

I have 2 orders of total 3x 72GH/s units (1/3 which is BTC payed), which I have all requested refunds on. On the old BTCFPGA site it says my CC order is refunded but I do not have received any money in my bank account, and it's been days. And while no status change on the BTC order I also haven't received any btc back even tho Dave said on the forum that all BTC refunds were processed.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Me. Paid with CC in August, CC company says they can only do a charge back within 60 days after I get my bill - so no chance any more.
Order status on btcfpga.com says "refunded" - but nothing hit my account so far. Asked for the refund on 10th.

full refund hit my account today - just to let everybody know.
all the best to you, tom!

It appears that those that requested for their refund in the middle of last week are getting them but the rest of us are not as lucky. No response, forum is down and locked and everyone is missing. The only reason i held on to an order was because of Dave's post asking for a "second chance" and urging us to "reconsider cancelling"... Well, that went well.  Sad

811  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 24, 2012, 03:38:59 PM
Hey Tom, how do you usually describe the contents of the package when you ship FPGAs overseas? Computer hardware? Will you use the same description for ASIC devices?

Thanks.

This is a good question especially for international orders. What are the devices declared as? Personally i think we should leave the word "bitcoin" out on the package description as that only adds to the confusion, and when there is confusion the package ends up in getting stuck at customs. A more generic term such as "Computer Hardware" would be preferred.

Cheers

You can now login and provide an email address for contact, a withdrawl bitcoin address, and a checkbox to share that information with the asset issuers. I'm assuming it will include such information as "how many shares you have" to the asset issuers.

I have complete the GLBSE AML forms to receive the gigamining coins back.

Did you have to provide all 3 forms of identification: photo ID, proof of address, and (the most amateurish) photo of you with hold up a piece of paper with your GLBSE username and date?

I've submitted all of the info requested.

Giga,

Are your bondholders also required to submit the identifcation details in order to receive the allocated bonds or will the list of this information be provided to you directly?

Thanks

Good morning Gigaminers:

As I'm sure most of you are well aware, this morning should mean another coupon payment. Unfortunately, due to events related to GLBSE and outside my control, coupon payments will not be made today. This makes me unbelievably upset, as I'm sure it does most of you.

I also stated before, that today I will retain counsel to best decide what to do with the situation we are faced. I appreciate all of your suggestions and comments, but please be patient while I work through all of the issues we face.

Best,
gigavps

Meni is facing a situation similar to yours with PUREMINING.

One thing he's started doing is to directly collect (GLBSE username, Bitcoin Address, Number of shares claimed to be held by username) triples.

This can clearly be faked, but it's a starting point if worse comes to worse
(e.g., Nefario could just confirm/invalidate triples instead of having to disclose
them himself).

I think it's a good idea to start doing this - if you need an easy way to collect them you can create a form in Google Docs that people could fill out, and then when you get the information from Nefario you can verify it.

It might be an issue for me (and some others, possibly) who did not associate (or don't remember associating) an address to withdraw BTC from. I sent BTC to my GLBSE account, but I'd need to figure out what address sent those coins each time. I guess I just have to see what information I'll have to provide to verify my account.

The most straight forward way that i can think is to verify via email addresses. An automated link can be sent to email addresses on file with instructions on how to claim your shares.
814  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: October 07, 2012, 07:41:36 AM
I am not waiting for BTC to be paid out, i just have hashing power in your farm Smiley

Agreed. I didn't trust much BTC to GLBSE because of risk, but the majority of it that wasn't locked up in BDT was in Gigamining and the S.DICE passthrough. At the time of the close, I didn't even have enough BTC in the account to purchase a share of the S.DICE passthrough at .0003x Smiley. I hope we can resolve this, and that we can authenticate our accounts with you to continue the operations that you were planning on.

I think quite a number of us are in the same situation. We holds bonds in Gigamining and would like to continue. I personally do not care of the BTC as there were signs that something was already brewing earlier and such withdrew most of it.

hi tom,

just sent you an email since my PM is probably backlogged somewhere.

LOL - bad timing...

I have been really trying hard to knock out emails but I just hit another hourly limit.

Domain btcfpga.com has exceeded the max emails per hour (23/20 (114%)) allowed.  Message will be reattempted later

send me another PM right now and I will respond right now
thanks

Hi Tom,

Perhaps you can consider using a simple ticketing system, that would at least allow some basic tracking and email management. It will also allow multiple people to response to the email

cheers
816  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: USB hubs for ASICs on: October 03, 2012, 07:19:34 AM
A lot of newer boards come with high powered usb devices that are designed to support charging from a USB port and these should be sufficient for running the Jallies. In addition a lot of board manufacturers such as gigabbyte, msi, etc also have released  software for high charging. The only exception I see is if you intend to run a large amount of the Jallies on a single machine, but if that was the case then getting a single would probably be a better idea

Cheers

I was initially leaning towards an Avalon but the latest announcement sealed the deal. Order placed.

On a side note, is there a cut-off date for the first batch shipped?

Thanks
