801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 05, 2023, 07:59:48 PM
If Manchester City was a team in the la liga, they would dominate the league and probably go unbeaten every season.
Fortunately Manchester City is still a team in the Premier League, but they have also dominated the title in the last 6 seasons. Lol
Manchester City coached by Pep Guardiola has won 5/6 titles from the last 6 seasons. They also managed to defend their title in the last 3 seasons between 2021-2023. If only Liverpool didn't win the title in the 2019/2020 season, so far Manchester City have won 6/6 titles in the last 6 seasons.

City have been so consistent in the English premier league where even the least team in the league can put up a surprising show on a good day against even the best team in the league. I remember the season Liverpool were going unbeaten until watford defeated them by a 3 to nil scoreline. I expect even Manchester City will face such game this season that will stop their winning streak and it will be surprising that it could be Luton who will be the hero of the day.
Manchester City's consistency in dominating the Premier League title can still be stopped if other teams are able to perform well and take advantage of every match to achieve victory. The problem is that no team has performed like that, even in the first 4 matches this season, Manchester City managed to win 12 points compared to 19 other teams.

You can expect Manchester City's winning streak to stop at one game but I don't think Luton will do that. Last season Manchester City lost 5 times and drew 5 times, so their defeat can be expected this season regardless of which team will do it. I hope Liverpool and Manchester United, but United looks bad so far.

Bellingham is a midfielder. Now he started the league well, but he will not score the goals all season. He scored 8 goals in the league in Germany last season, now don't expect him to score goals in every match just because he scored 5 goals in the first matches. If he closes the season with 15 goals, he will have accomplished a great job. Lewandowski, on the other hand, can score a hat-trick in a match if necessary and catch them. It's very easy for Lewandowski to score goals, he is a complete finishing striker. If Barca's wingers and midfielders can feed him better, he will continue to score goals at full speed. At the end of the season, Lewandowski and other forwards will be in the top scorer race, but not Bellingham.
LGD2Business, I agree with you and rihgt now I don't have high expectations for Bellingham.
So far Bellingham has proven to us that he is a good attacking midfielder for Real Madrid. He scores goals and helps Real Madrid win games, but I can't fully expect him to score every game Real Madrid has this season. Of course I can expect him to score more than 10 goals because La Liga may be very different from the Bundesliga in terms of team defence, but still high expectations for him are not expected.

Lewandowski is a striker, of course he tends to be more expected to lead the top scorer standings and compete with several other strikers. Lewandowski has not been at his best at the start of this season, but with time he will find his identity again. This season Barcelona has got a good winger from Joao Felix, so that will make Barcelona better in terms of attack power, and of course it can help Lewandowski score goals with his assists.

If in the Manchester United vs Arsenal match there are still those who blame the referee's decision, it is a sign that the Manchester United fans are trying to dismiss and do not want to accept the fact that they lost to Arsenal. Even though many of Anthony Taylor's decisions are often controversial, in that fight, in my opinion, he showed fairness and professionalism.
I don't think it's worth complaining after the game is over, it won't change anything. Erik Ten Hag is aware of that and doesn't seem like he wants to make a big deal about it but I think he just needs to focus on improving a team that is very unstable right now.

The players seem to be playing for themselves and seem selfish. That's what I've seen on a number of occasions, especially when there's a good chance to cross but they didn't do it. Rashford repeated it several times, that is what must be avoided in the next match and Ten Hag must change his players to help the team, not for himself.

Jude Bellingham was very fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to Real Madrid by scoring a goal in the dying minutes of the game. Jude Bellingham's goal added value in the eyes of Carlo Ancelotti, and there is likely to be a special direction for Jude Bellingham when he plays again on September 18 against Real Sociedad. Real Madrid must maintain this strength so that its position at the top of the standings remains in first place until the end of La Liga.
I can safely say that Jude Bellingham is one of the best signings for Real Madrid so far. His contribution to Real Madrid's victory is the real impact of his presence, but I never expected Real Madrid to always rely on him to win every game because it just doesn't make sense. OK I know he is capable of doing it and would love to do so if the opportunity arose, but Real Madrid must have a top striker instead of expecting their attacking midfielder to be the hero all season.

I just see Real Madrid being a bit more selfish and not wanting to change things. Of course, we all know where Real Madrid's weaknesses lie in every match, even though in the end they were able to win the match. Adding one top striker will make them even better, I hope that will be realized in the next transfer window.

Great performance by the Gunners, I never predicted that the game would end this way. When Manchester United got the first goal I assumed that the best result Arsenal would get is a draw. But Ødegaard responded after one minute with a goal and two additional goals in the extra time from Rice and Jesus gave the home team the deserved win. A few minutes of loss of concentration cost United to lose a game that was almost over. Ten points in four games is not a bad result for the Mikel Arteta side.
It was very sad to lose in the last few minutes even though I think Arsenal deserved it. Manchester United failed to live up to my expectations today, but it would have been close had Alejandro Garnacho's goal not been disallowed for offside.

Manchester United's defensive concentration failed after Declan Rice managed to beat Andre Onana for a 2-1 lead, and from then on I thought the game was over because Manchester United had no more chances to score a goal back to equalise. I certainly regret this bad result, but I think all the players have tried their best even though they were not very effective when they had the opportunity.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 03, 2023, 05:32:38 PM
Personally there are no significant impacts from my responsible gambling, but yes I have my wife set my gambling budget every week so that I don't spend outside of that budget limit, so why be secretive and hiding, at least one of the people I trust needs to knowing that I am a gambler, at least dare to be honest with yourself and those closest to you because that will help us be more controlled.

So far what my wife knows is that I only play gambling for fun, so winning and getting money is only part of the bonus, I am a worker and only play on weekends so for the necessities of life I am more focused on providing for my wife and family by proceeds from my work, so do not expect from gambling money because it is not worth making gambling as a source of income. gambling wisely and responsibly is an important point to protect ourselves from addiction.  Wink
It is indeed difficult to continue to hide gambling habits from those closest to us, including our wives or anyone who knows us well. However, telling them about this habit (let alone asking them to limit your budget) is also not entirely good because a woman might bring up this problem when she doesn't get what she wants. As long as you are able to meet his and his family's needs, then there will be no problems, but on the contrary, this will be an absolute reason for them to attack you as long as you do not fulfill their needs.

I no longer gamble as much as before because I don't think it will end. Limiting my budget is what I have done before and so far my gambling intensity has dropped drastically. Of course this is to be expected during a bad economy, at least it has kept me from spending too much money on things that aren't profitable. Gambling for the fun of it is fine but but limiting the budget is the main thing.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 03, 2023, 05:11:22 PM
Arsenal were very aggressive in the first half and were able to mount pressure on their opponent. Manchester United are being very careful in their defense. Arsenal kept pushing forward throughout the first half even after conceding a goal. I believe Erik Ten Hag strategy is to absorb attack and make a counter attack. Arteta needs to do better to hold Marcus Rashford.
Arsenal's performance so far has been very good where the attacks they have built have put Manchester United's defense under great pressure. Of course this is not good for Manchester United as they also need to win, but Ten Hag's strategy has been good so far and they are doing as well as they can to get out of the pressure.

This was a match with high tension so both teams played carefully. Both of them built attacks well and created opportunities, but each failed so the score was still tied at 1-1. A draw might not be the worst for either team, but I still expect Manchester United to go home with maximum points today.
808  Economy / Speculation / Re: take advantage of opportunities on: September 02, 2023, 06:56:46 PM
Of course, don't missed opportunities. We must take advantage of the opportunity. Because opportunities don't always come. We have a huge opportunity now, because we all know that Bitcoin will be worth 100k to 120k in the near future.
Have you done it, or have you prepared a budget to do it but haven't done it rihgt now?
Many of us advise people to take advantage of the current downturn in the market, but some of them don't do it out of fear. This is not strange to me because in fact not all of them are bitcoin investors but only invest and trade altcoin.

After all $100k to $120k is not going to be reached any time soon. Bitcoin needs a lot of budget to cross $100k, which means it needs large investors willing to buy continuously which in turn can make demand higher than supply. $100k is achievable after the halving, but for the same reasons.

It's not just enough to dominate the game, if in the end Chelsea has to swallow defeat at Stamford Bridge, their home base. Based on match statistics, Chelsea controlled 76% of ball possession, 21 total shots, but only 2 shots were on target. Unfortunately, they were unable to convert every opportunity well and turn it into a goal.

IMO, again I have to say, that Chelsea doesn't have a pure striker who is established and hungry in terms of scoring goals. that means, Pochettino can't just hope to rely on Nicolas Jackson. he has to think of another way, if he has to, Pochettino should give another player the opportunity to become the main starter. he can also experiment with other systems, rotating some of his players, especially the center forward. If not, Chelsea will always have difficulties in every match they play. Unfortunately, several of Chelsea's center forwards were injured. but what is certain is that Pochettino must improve his team's squad. otherwise, Chelsea will struggle to finish in the top four of the Premier League as they had hoped.
Of course, just dominating the match is not enough for any team to win the match if the opposing team defends well after scoring goals. So far Pochettino has not put Raheem Sterling in his original position on the left winger but he has been deployed as an attacking midfielder. This clearly made Sterling not appear in his best form and tended to find it difficult to contribute to creating goal opportunities.

Pep Guardiola has used Sterling on either wing, but Sterling tends to do well on the left which is his preferred position. Sterling played 183 games for Manchester City as a left winger, and he scored 70 goals and 40 assists, while on the right wing he had 103 appearances for 43 goals and 46 assists. So things like this must be considered by Pochettino so he needs to make changes to support Chelsea's performance better.

The following are complete details regarding Sterling's statistics at Manchester City by position:

Believe me, real madrid can only rely on the jude bellingham as a key to secure full points in any match. Joselu performed quite well during the match. As i predicted if ancellotti doesn't need to buy a new player. He was only using joselu to replace vini.
Madrid was fully dominating the match. The club has made more than 10 goals attempt but i must admit that if getafe has a solid wall on its defensive line.
Madrid feels so difficult in scoring the goals even though the club has made so many goal attempts. The first goal by getafe surprised many people. They cannot even believe getafe will be scoring first against real madrid.
Congratulation for real madrid winning another game against getafe. This team is still getting perfect result in la liga.
I'm happy with this positive result even though Real Madrid really struggled to find a way to win the match. Once again Jude Bellingham saved Real Madrid from losing full points, but overall Real Madrid deserved to win this match for whatever reason.

Ancelotti basically needs new players rather than having to play Joselu all season, but he can't expect much considering Real Madrid doesn't want him. Joselu basically scored a goal in this match, but it was his first goal after going 3 matches without a goal. You are right, the final key to Real Madrid's victory was Jude Bellingham. If he gets injured, then I'm not sure Real Madrid will be able to maintain their best form.

When Chelsea played against Luton and won, the fans of the club were happy that Chelsea were showing signs of improvement, and signs to do better this season, but now they have played a stronger and more threatening team, and we have seen that they have not really improved from last season. Chelsea still lack the ability to recover from games from behind once they are scored. Pochetino has no excuse as to why Chelsea lost because he has very good players at his disposal. In a few more games, If Chelsea continue with this unimpressive performance, many Chelsea fans may start demanding that he be sacked and replaced.
In fact, Chelsea was able to dominate the match compared to Nottingham, but Chelsea had difficulty breaking into Nottingham's goal. Lack of player creativity is the first reason, but a lack of consistent strategy is also a reason. I didn't find Nottingham playing well except being really good defensively which combined with taking chances, it won them the game even though it was completely unexpected.

The bottom team uses a defensive strategy to win points against the top team. The weakness of Pochettino's strategy is that he was able to find a solution to find the net even though they had a lot of shots in total. Poor finishing is also an excuse, but of course Pochettino is under pressure at the moment.

If there is no emergency budget, it could be that the investment will fall apart, we humans are in need of the unexpected so understand this, don't ignore that emergency funds are important for your needs, including your family's health costs.
There is a theory that to start investing it must have a reserve fund for the next 6 months so that investment will not be disrupted, the next 6 months can be categorized as an emergency budget while there is still income every month, so investment will be much better when something starts with a mature plan.
Of course you are right, and that's why I tried to remind him instead of just thinking about how to accumulate but ignoring the importance of a reserve budget. This advice is good and really worth considering for anyone, but still every investor has their own way of managing their finances and planning their investments.

For me, a reserve budget is a must-have so that investment plans are not easily damaged by unexpected things. That is a wise mindset before deciding to invest, of course if they plan to hold it for the long term.

Of course they have different views on how to invest in bitcoin, here we must be able to accumulate bitcoin and that many people want.
Surviving 5 years with bitcoin I think that is enough to take maximum advantage.
Maybe that's also true, but some people stick with other approaches such as just waiting for the ATH or selling during a bull run cycle. Of course it doesn't have to be 5 years, but it depends on when they started coming in.

I continue to accumulate bitcoin with the DCA strategy and to be honest I never thought of selling it in a hurry even though it already has profits in the portfolio alone, but does that invalidate the strategy that I use? I would say it does not invalidate the strategy that I use.
I understand that we will sell eventually, but not that fast, because for me personally it will take a very long time to hold it, yes at least if it reaches ATH again that is the time I think is right to sell it.
I'm thinking why sell quickly (even though we already have a profit) when we can maximize the profit we can get.
This is expected from experienced users especially if you have a manageable budget to invest consistently with a DCA strategy. I agree this is the best way to build your investment portfolio well, but I don't expect you to lie to yourself about what you say.

I'm sure some of them bought on dip and DCA prices, but I'm sure not everyone who says they are actually buying because of the budget constraints they have. Honestly, I really want to stop this nonsense, but let them think for themselves. red4slash, you know that you still need to have an emergency budget to deal with unexpected financial situations, so you don't need to emphasize your desire to invest consistently if you don't have an emergency budget.

What you say is true, I totally agree with you. I too see the extreme effort he puts into playing and winning and I don't understand what's happening. Maybe an athletic fitness issue? The players seem really tired and tried, exhausted.

Let's see in the next games if they recover.
Last season Barcelona also didn't have a good game at the start of the season, but in the end Barcelona managed to perform spectacularly and win the La Liga title like they didn't have any problems. Their defense is very strong, their home record is good and they have dispelled all the bad speculation as if they had the best squad depth all season.

At the same time, Real Madrid appeared more convincing, but Real Madrid failed to appear consistent and ultimately failed to win the title. I'm a Real Madrid supporter, but I don't underestimate Barcelona. They are a team built on trusting one another, supporting one another, and growing strong with its underpaid young squad.

Luton Town vs West Ham will probably be an interesting game... West Ham have failed to beat Luton Town in the last five meetings, although in 2022 it was a friendly match, and the others were almost 30 years ago... Bookmakers give a good odds of 1.8 for a West Ham win... But can they win today?
Given West Ham's performance in the last 3 matches, I believe West Ham will win that match today. West Ham come to Kenilworth Road as the favorite team which also makes them have a high probability of winning compared to the home team. I don't care about Luton Town's status as a newly promoted team this season, meaning they can play well but I don't think they can win the game.

My prediction is that West Ham will take home full points in this away match with a possible goal of over 3. I don't expect many people to believe what I say, but 3 points seems to be a guarantee for West Ham.

This season, Real Madrid seems to have a smooth road to qualify for the round of 16 even though Napoli can really be a threat to reduce points gain in the group stage. I am optimistic that Real Madrid will lead the standings despite facing a difficult opponent, but it is not a big challenge. I'm not looking down on Braga and Union Berlin, but I'm sure these two teams are not suitable opponents for Real Madrid let alone to make our plans fail this season.

What do you think, is this formation suitable for Real Madrid?
No, but I think Real Madrid can play better with a 4-3-1-2 formation where Joselu and Rodrygo play as strikers. Even though Real Madrid don't have a number 9 as a center forward, I tend to agree that they don't play Rodrygo as an attacking midfielder. Rodrygo is good as a striker, so Ancelotti doesn't need to give Rodrygo a different role against Getafe at the weekend.

But because that is the predicted line up and formation, I think it will change based on the opponent's needs and playing style. Moreover, Ancelotti can play Bellingham as false nine or winger if he wants, but I don't think Bellingham will do that in the next match.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: How passionate are you buying Bitcoin now? on: August 31, 2023, 06:53:28 PM
I will say that knowing ETF approvals are just a matter of months off does make me feel a little more confident that the Bitcoin price is going to rise quite a bit in the coming year or two, but I would be even more confident if the mtgox BTC would get distributed so the market can work on absorbing that. Once that is behind us I’ll be in full bull mode.
Rumors about mtgox have been dragging on for so long that there is no certainty when they will succeed in distributing bitcoin. Regardless, mtgox is probably going to be a huge FUD for the market and bitcoin holders, certainly going to send the market into a tailspin for a while.

That's one possible reason why the current demand for bitcoin is so much lower than the current supply, which may mean that investors are just waiting to see what will happen in the next few months while they are ready to invest heavily in bitcoin. But honestly, I'm not worried about volatility and I tend to have been prepared for the drama leading up to the halving.

I do not see or rate any team in the premier league as incapable of surprises. Liverpool have started well this season and would have gained a lot of confidence from their last game, but Aston Villa should not be ignored even though they will be playing at the Anfield. Ollie Watkins is a good player and Liverpool back line will have to be careful for him not to let him score, and also not to be too hard on him to cause a penalty or lead to a red card. Liverpool were able to play and win Newcastle with ten men, but they cannot do it all the time against all the teams.
Liverpool's performance is very dependent on the ability of Jurgen Klopp as his coach. Liverpool would be very different if Klopp were not their coach, so they really hope that Klopp will be able to motivate his players well in every Liverpool match this season.

Aston Villa should not be underestimated even though Liverpool is actually far superior at home. Klopp doesn't expect Liverpool to have the same problems as last season again, so he will try his best to get the best performance and results from every match. This week Liverpool are playing at home, so they can count on them to win.

A great deal of people have a distorted vision of gambling, they believe it is a glamours activity from which they can obtain a lot of profits, when it is the opposite, those luxurious installations you see at your favorite casinos were paid by those that lost their money there, so the more luxury you see around you the more losers were needed for the casino to create such an environment, and once you see things in this way then it is easy to leave those thoughts behind and gamble just for the fun of it.
There you have it, some people have the wrong mindset about gambling and they are doing something that might hurt themselves financially. But I can't completely blame that mindset when there's an opportunity to make money instead of just having fun. The main problem that gamblers need to avoid is that they should not gamble beyond the limits where at the same time they fail to take responsibility for the consequences.

There are typical gamblers who have fun and there are gamblers who want to make money purely. These two categories of gamblers have different levels of problems, in fact gamblers who want to make money tend to have worse financial problems than gamblers who want to have fun.
